The title is pretty self-explanatory. I read the three MAJOR ones, being Car and Driver, Motor Trend, and Road and Track. Hell, I've read some of the issues from those magazines dating all the way back to the 50s and 60s. It really brings a perspective of how this industry has evolved in about a half-century. What magazines do you guys read?

Well I don't subscribe to any of them at the moment. Used to get Road & Track.

But now I just read the Car & Driver and Road & Track from our schools library. And checkout Autobobile Magazine/Motor Trends websites.

I have a subscription to Car & Driver and but Sport Compact Car occasionally. I've been meaning to get a subscription to SCC, but it never happend. Also, I'll steal my brother's Turbo or buy a Top Gear or EVO.

I used to buy every issue of Performance Car, Top Gear and Autocar back in the day. However, since Performance Car went down (and morphed into evo over time) I've hardly been buying any magazines. I occasionally get evo but only if there's a particular feature I'd like to read (like this month's GT3 review).

(Look at the price! Car magazines used to be cheap when I was a lad :D )

I subscribe to Car and Driver, and pick up HOT ROD and Rod & Custom whenever I can.

I read quite a few different things...

- Car and Driver is still my favorite, and the one I have a subscription to. They have the best edditors/writers in any American magazine, and it has been proven time and time again that they are the best drivers in a magazine in the United States.

- Motor Trend is another that I have been reading since I was a kid (my Dad still subscribes), and it is just a so-so automotive source these days. Some of the articles are fun to read, but they dont seem to take themselves seriously at any point in the magazine (Ridgeline as Truck of the Year? Ha!).

- Top Gear is my new addition to my reading lineup. Although I refuse to pay the $160 a year to get it sent to my home, I am on the website once a day, check the videos on You Tube, etc. The folks at Top Gear are my favorites, second only to the folks at Car and Driver.

- CAR Magazine is another that I buy every once in a while. For $10 an issue, its a little expensive, but it is fun to read when they do the small-car shootouts, etc. They kinda remind me of Motor Trend just a bit, but it is a good change to read something in English-English with cars I've never seen before.

- Times Online: Cars is another new read, but I suppose that is more of a newspaper than a magazine. I'm only there for Mr. Clarkson himself, but it is still a good read nonetheless.

If you're interested in having skillful drivers testing cars, you can't go far wrong with Best Motoring. The driving staff is composed totally of current or retired Japanese racing drivers and they're very thorough in testing cars, with numerous battles.

I get Street Machine every month, I haven't got a sub yet, as then I would have no reason to flirt with the ladies down at my local newsagent. Motor magazine is another that i read occasionally, along with many and varied online ones.

I read Road&Track, Car&Driver, MOTOR TREND, Automobile, Roundel (bmwcca mag) regualrly
occasionlay also DUB, AutoWeek, Rides, Modified L&E, Super Street, Import Car ,Hot Rod, Muscle Car, and anything else worth reading. And if Im lucky enough to get my hands on it a European magazine like CAR or TopGear.
I bet Im the only 12 year old who does that. ;)

Not really... lots of kids are into cars nowadays. We just had a 12 year old ice a modifier competition that was being sponsored by Super Street...

I do read a lot of old Car and Driver and Road and Track issues, nice sense of history, there... I read mostly newer C&D and R&T online, canadiandriver.com (more consumerist take, but some good stuff nonetheless), autoextremist.com, automobear.com (but it's pretty dry... mostly talk about design... they do have a great sales chart), Top Gear, Evo (I collect the mag, it's an adult's mag for boy racers), two or three local mags, Sport Compact Car, but only for Kojima's writing on tuning, though they've been getting a bit better (but the mag is getting kinda thin for the price)... nissanperformancemag.com (for Mike Kojima's column)... oh... tons of stuff..

On a lark, I'll pick up a Hot Rod mag or two just to look at the old cars. Don't like reading it much... anyone who thinks a radial tire is evil must be at least partially off their rocker.

I read Max Power every once in a while for laughs. You really don't know rice until you've read Max Power.

I've seen a few of the BestMotorRing videos on the internet, and it is very interesting. The DVDs are awfully expensive to buy in the US, so my viewing is limited to what has been posted on Google Video and You Tube (similar to Top Gear, despite the fact Top Gear was shown for a season in the US).

Hasn't there been another car mag thread before? Oh well.

My reading list includes NZ Performance Car, Evo, High Performance Imports, Zoom, NZV8 and the occansional issue of NZ Classic Car.

Max Power? What the hell is that? about the kids.... not that I know of. Can I meet these kids? 💡

I don't read car magazines that often anymore since car news on the Internet is so strong now, sometimes I buy MOTOR magazine (great mag).

I watch Best Motoring as much as possible but like YSSMAN it is quite expensive to buy here so I mostly watch from Google video and other like that.

I read Autoblog and Edmunds for car news; I read Car and Driver for car reviews. I’ve found it’s really the way to go – use the Internet for up-to-date news, while I consult C/D for their best reviews (not to mention best journalism). If I can’t find a review of a car in C/D, then Edmunds’ Inside Line is usually sufficient, though still not quite the same.

I can only think of two car magazines that I actually read which are Motortrend and Car and Driver. I can't really think of a third one. I really like those two because they provide pros and cons of each car being reviewed. They would even provide track times with graphs to support it, which is a huge plus from me.

I hope no one here really pay attention to those import magazines...All they show is girls, cars with sticker, more cars with sticker, ALL PROS and no CONS. ROFL. Import Tunerz, Modified Mag...omg nearly everyone at my school read those things and think the EVO VIII's AWD system is immune to spinning out. :dopey:

Import Magazines almost make me sad to even like cars. Not only do they objectify women, but they also seem to know very little about cars unless they are from Toyota, Nissan or Honda.

Its a shame that they are so popular sometimes, but I love it when Car and Driver picks on them.

I do read High performance imports at my friends house though, its the best Import mag in Austrlia. All technical about tuning, no ricey type cars or girls flashing everywhere.

I read quite a few: Autocar, evo, occationally What Car and Auto Express. I used to read Top Gear until I found I only read half the magazine, it wasn't worth the money anymore.

At this point in time, I don't read any mags. I do, however, currently have a subscription to Hemming Muscle Machines. I used to have one to Road & Track, but I quit renewing a couple years ago. My dad works as a mechanic for an airline, so he often finds and brings home mags left on airplanes. Much cheaper than subscriptions.

Evo, Classic & Sports Car, Motorsport, Autosport (Known as 'the bible' in our family) with the occasional purchase of Car or Autocar when a flight or train journey is imminent.

I currently have a subscription to NZPC (New Zealand Performance Car) which covers me on the tuning/import front, and I buy the latest issue of Motor Magazine as soon as it hits the shelves. That covers me on the 'new car' front.

I used to buy and read a lot more though...

Street Machine - for my street machine/hot rod/custom news and views.

Fast Fours - for another look at the import market.

Hot4s - for yet another view of the import scene.

I stopped buying Street Machine because my brother gets it as well so I could just read his copy when I'm at his place, and I dropped Fast Fours and Hot4s after NZPC really lifted it's game and those two Aussie ones just paled in comparison.

Plus I'm a lot busier now and I struggle to see how I used to read 5+ magazines from cover to cover each month. Ahhhh, school days eh? Nothing to do but waste time...

NZPC put out a couple of extra mags each year with 'Special Content' but I refuse to be sucked into that marketing ploy. I will purchase the special Summernats issue of Street Machine though - although that just makes me jealous...

I've scanned through Top Gear magazine, and it's not my cup-of-tea. I think it's trying to be too much of a life-style magazine as well as an auto-magazine. And well, I'd prefer it if it wasn't. Plus it's rediculously expensive here in NZ. I did get my hands on one issue of Evo though and it contained one of the best stories I've ever read - a few years ago now (try '99ish) but they took a Viper GTS-R and a Porsche GT2 through France. I still have that copy floating around. Well, to tell they truth I still have all the issues I've bought stored in the attic...

Also, I usually have a quick glance through a 4WD mag and Classic Car while I'm in line at the Supermarket - I like seeing brand new 4WDs floundering in deep puddles, and I'm partial to a well restored classic too. :)

Yea that's why I decided to pick up a copy for the first time, I much prefer reading about an emphasis of performance over style.
Even if you don't buy a copy you should have a flick through a Zoom mag next time you happen to be in a magzine store VIPERGTSR, it's from the same publishing house as HPI and it's an almost identical magazine in terms of content.

Actually I forgot about Zoom, yes I read that at my friends aswell (also a good mag) and I laugh at them when I see Hot4's magazine. :D

I read Car and Driver (only subscription I have), and occasionally pick up an Evo or CAR at the bookstore. When I visit my parents', I read my dad's Road & Track and Autoweek issues. Once I start making more money, I'll probably subscribe to those, too.

Road & Track, Motor Trend, Car And Driver, and Automobile.

I would get EVO, but it's pretty expensive here, and DuPont Registry are already has my money for an expensive magazine.

I pay probably...near $70 a year for DuPont.:scared:
