What cars with what music?

Hi everybody,

Judging my some of the threads I've read, everybody hates the music on GT4. Well, I'm in the minority that actually likes the music on GT4. I think there are plenty of great songs on the games from many different genres. My favourite song is Shatter by Feeder.

Anyway, what I want to know is what music goes best with certain cars on certain tracks (if anybody actually listens to the music). I think all hip hop songs go well with the Chrysler 300C on the New York track. I also think that heavy rock songs go well with Nurburgring and techno goes well with Seoul Central and Hong Kong.

P.S. I've going to do a 4x4 test soon, any tips on which tracks would be the best for tests? I'm planning to use a normal track, a city track, a dirt track and a snow track.

When I got the Motor Carriage, the first time I drove it, the classical music by Bethoven or whoever started playing. It was perfect, LOL!

I only like a few of the songs in the game, Freewheel Burning from Judas Priest and Summer Song by Joe Satriani. Those songs are always fun to listen to while cruising on Costa di Amalfi :)

I think it's preetty distracting (at least in the long races) to have the bgm on.. But on the other hand while cruisin for getting cool pics, then it's nice with some tunes, but I usually listen to other music than the GT4 then... Like, Living On a Prayer - Bon Jovi is great when your boosting out of a sweeping corner...!! Wee! :dunce:

I usually turn the BGM all the way down and the SE all the way up while I race. I have to hear my car in order to race good.

I leave the replay BGM on so I dont really get to hear all the songs. Although sometimes I do play music on a little stereo next to me on longer races. I have my PS2 through my large stereo but it sounds cluttered when too much is going on.

That's how I am. Although when I first got the game I did listen to the music, now it seems too overplayed. When you shuffle the tracks you get the same song. I know the order of the tracks even when shuffled, so usually it's the nice sound of an engine at play or my stereo's sexified music.

Yup, turn off the music for the race and put on my own stuff - listening to the BGM for replays is kinda cool though, especially w/the dive replay as it seems to be able to change it's view in synch w/the music...

Now SSX3 - THAT has a killer soundtrack IMHO, they did a great job of picking music for that game.

I turn off all music when racing. The day Dale Jr or Michael S. has music piped into the helmet speakers during a race is the day I'll start listening too. However, I must admit that in a loooong enduro where I am ahead by a comfortable margin I do pop in a CD or DVD and listen to that. ( I am a fan of Broadway musicals and GT4 has none of that in its library of tunes...) When I do, I notice my lap times suffer by 10-20 seconds (on the Ring, say) over the music-less laps.

As long as I can clearly hear the car sounds (tires, engine, etc.) I don't really notice much of a significant difference in lap times, in fact I think I do better sometimes when I've got music I like on.

I keep the BGM turned down to a soft whisper not because i can concentrate better, but because i am a big fan of hearing the engine rev. There is really only one song that i can really remember in the game: Born to Slow (Deepsky's Green Absinthe Mix). I like the song because it incorporates techno (One of my fave music genre's thanks to DDR) and Born to Slow (Got hooked on the song from playing Need For Speed Underground). Thats aobut it when ist comes to music from the game.

Oh! Almost forgot. When you fail a License test, they play Oh Yeah by Yello. I LOVE THAT SONG because of Farris Beuler's (sp?) Day Off. On of the greatest movies in my opinion. OH YEAH! 👍 👍

I'm not going to go into the songs I like/don't like because that has all been done before, but I too race with no BGM. I have it on for the replay's though.

I don't mind music while I'm racing, infact I will quite often have the stereo on while I'm driving. I turn it off when I need to really concentrate though.

And that's the thing. Once you have race music on, you can't turn it off. It's great in the replay's - on or off, no probs. But in the races there's no way?

I like the majority of the soundtrack, and would like to listen to it in the enduro's, but I don't because if I get sick of it, I'll be stuck with it for a couple of hours. :nervous:

IMO one big improvement, yet fairly simple, would be some way to turn the music on/off during a race. No need for the whole jukebox or anything, just have it like in the replays. You can adjust the screen brightness in the pause menu, but no sound!
