What did you do in FM23 today?

I agree with you, Simon. The lack of statement and the unsure future of the Motorsport series has made me look elsewhere.

Now, I have had some thoughts about getting a Ras1lution wheel converter for my Thrustmaster TS-XW-wheel, buy a PS5 and try GT7, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Have anyone here had any experience with that wheel converter? For those of you that have played both FM 23 and GT7, how does the physics compare on a wheel?

If I'm not getting a PS5 I'm probably just going to play AC1, finish up all the races in FM 23 and then wait for AC Evo's console release.

I've got a ras1ution2, it's not perfect, but does work, you have to fiddle with the thing on startup to get it connected, so it's not just plug & play, but for me my Moza setup is much cheaper than a PS5 compatible wheel with similar torque, plus I bought Moza when the ESX was announced assuming I'd be playing FM2023 for years to come.

If you can source a PS4 Pro for cheap, that may be a good way to test the waters, that's what I'm using and it's perfectly servicable, but obviously a bit of a step down from a modern PC or Series X.

If it helps, I bought a sub for PSPlus a couple weeks ago, did maybe 5-10 daily races on GT7, alternating with LMU for a week, but haven't booted up my PS4 for a good week now. LMU scratches the same itch in terms of pick up and play, especially if you are fine with either LMP2 or GT3, I can boot the game up, and for the most part a new race is starting within 10mins of me starting up, with 3mins practice and 5mins qualifying, then 20min race, you can get a couple races done in an hour.

That was too close for comfort. If I had lost that race due to that penalty I would have been very angry. I got it by going out too far to the left on Sunset Bend which I really don't think should be a penalty. If you go that far out you've hurt yourself instead of gaining an advantage. I also really don't think there should be a penalty for being close to the inner wall on the right because that is more on a good line for the turn.

Finally finished the IndyCar series and now working on the FM6 events.

I didn't do it yet but, I'm about to go and get that Porsche GT2 Livery. After that I'll do another career race.
I'll get the 20th Anniversary livery too, then use it in the FM7 events. That's what I've done with the P1 and GT.

Painting some Cup MX-5s... I know what I'm about to say will sound mean and inconsiderate, but I hope whoever mapped the rear bumper of this damn car is looking for a job rn. :irked:

Whoever is driving in the Spec Series with a Moza wheel is about to find a nice suprise in the Sharefront, tho.

Tried my hand at a bit more multiplayer over the weekend, and had a fair bit of fun. Entered one of 900PI Hypercar races, 10 minutes, in the dark on the Full Nurburgring with my Zonda, and threw a "thumb in the air" tune on the suspension, softening it up and raising the ride height a little. Got about 6 or so minutes of practice in, which allowed me to get a feel for the car at least, and I knew that it was going to be fairly friendly to drive, if lacking a little straight-line speed. And then in the race, there must have been 21-22 cars on the grid, and I immediately knew the first two tight corners were going to be a mess. So it proved, there were accidents and half spins everywhere, all to the soundtrack of an American on the mic raging in the background about people unable to drive in traffic. Which, given I managed to somehow stay out of trouble and even got around the outside of of the melee on the second corner, only I could only giggle at.

Up to seventh, and on the GP StreckeI started slowly but surely reeling people in, and by the time we'd started onto the Nordschleife proper I'd made my way past one, then another, then another as mistakes crept in. By the time we got to Adenauer Forst I was up to fourth, and made up another two spots at Ex-Muhle and Bergwerk as an AMG One, and then a McLaren Senna both ran wide. Up to second now and loving the Pagani, I was in a flow state and able to wring the car's neck for most of the rest of the lap, only to make a mistake and have an off near Esbach, allowing the Mercedes back past. Cursing myself, I got back onto the track as quick as I could and set about chasing it, gaining a little ground but not enough, and came onto the Dottinger Hohe with a seemingly insurmountable gap to make up, knowing the Pagani was setup a little draggy.

But then, the gap started closing, and though I kept expecting to run out of revs, I managed to get in the slipstream and start reeling in the AMG. As we entered the final chicane, the Mercedes must have braked a fraction too late, and skidded wide of the Apex. Not enough to run off the road (just), but killing it's momentum, and I was able to sneak the Pagani alongside out of the exit, and kept half a car-length in front to cross the line second for my first ever multiplayer podium!

And man does that Pagani not have the headlights to match its speed up the hill from Bergwerk.

Finally finished all the Anniversary events. The NSX Showcase at Fujimi was like a Wreckfest race, though...

Now I'm gonna have some Custom Race fun before jumping into the Open Wheel series.

Enjoying my time back with the game this week for the first time since mid July.

Completed the Ginetta series in champions cup, and have continued to progress the spec mx5 series. Enjoyable cars to drive that make you work for your speed. I think I will start american touring next before I start the ktm, feels natural for a career progression path

Multiplayer seems to still be fairly populated, I did two races in the vintage le mans prototypes and formula mazda both had at least 9 drivers and the racing was pretty good. I hope to keep taking advantage of multiplayer while there are other players around, though I expect this will slowly get less and less.

Yesterday I finally finished the NASCAR series in the Thunder tour. Ran the first Indy car series race at Watkins Glen. I think the AI strength for this series is higher than the previous ones. I was more than 4 seconds slower than P1's practice time and starting 8th my predicted finish was 15th and it's never been that low in any other race. I still won because it seems the AI will get close to you but not attempt to pass unless you really screw it up.
