Made some progress in the Circuit Experiences by completing the remaining two tracks in Asia, namely Kyoto and Autopolis. The latter took more attempts than I'd like to admit and was probably the most challenging in the region for me. I have to say the Asian region was probably the one I've liked the least mainly due to Tokyo which offered 6 different layouts to get acquainted with the track barriers although the gold times there felt more forgiving than for example on Autopolis.

In the process I also managed to save up enough credits for the rest of my wish list at the Legendary Car Dealership. Most of them (F40, Cobra 427, 300 SEL, GT-R GT500 and the Group C cars) should be coming up for sale almost back to back so this allows me to ease a little bit on the daily grind for now. I just hope that my plans don't fall apart like a house of cards in case PD for some reason decides to put Escudo up for sale in the LCD at some ridiculous price.

Tuned up the Alpine A220 to group 4 spec and took it to Laguna Seca (WTC 700). As it’s so light on the tyres, went for a no-stopper, mostly FM 5. Caught up the leaders after they pitted around lap 8 and pulled off a double pass into the final corner on lap 9. Finished with 0.1 fuel.

Sometimes, if you ignore the MTX and the online issues, this game can be enormous fun.

Ahhhhh, well let's take a peek.. well for starters I loaded up my top 3 American Dawgs & headed off to Trial Mountain for some grinding to earn a cool 330K..

L-R:

1). 2015 Mustang GT
2). 2018 Camaro ZL1
3). 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat

.. which in turn let me cash in on the invite to purchase the 2019 Porsche Taycan Turbo S/EV..

& while it's VERY nice, the sound of the motor and acceleration are taking some getting used to.. as in the sound, not like a RUF or the VW-GTI-VGT.. it's eerily quiet.. and the acceleration to braking is so instant that it's going to take some time to dial it in.. but wow, it'll be fun figuring out the nuances and taking it to time trials & custom races.. different, but nice! .. next stop, the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport! .. The Deutsches Haus (German house) is get'n full gentlemen.. LoL!

I was enjoying F1 2021 game for the time being and worked hard for the last few trophies i needed for the platium trophy. Now, after receiving it. Back to Gran Turismo. :D

Bought today;
  • McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97.
  • Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W194) '52.
  • Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta '38.
After buying those three, I'm back down to 39 million credits, yikes.

Raced today;

  • Sardegna 800 pp with McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97.
  • Le Mans 700 pp with detuned McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97.

Got a nice 1 star ticket and a 10.000 credits reward. DOUBLE yikes.

Today was Custom Race Day.
Honestly I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun with a Racing Game. The possibilities are almost endless. When I started playing GT7, I thought that the Single Player Part about GT7 was crap.
Racing against the AI never felt like a true Race, they were super fair but slow and overall the experience was very unpleasant.
But Guys, the Game has completely changed once I understood how to set it up correctly.
Now it’s just a dream.
I don’t know how you feel about the Single Player Part but for me it’s the best thing about GT7.
Polyphony really nailed it this time.
If they now manage to fix some small things like saving my Car choices and settings in General and give us the possibility to create our own Championships I’ll be in Heaven.
And as soon as they fix the Multiplayer Lobbies I definitely won’t see me playing anything else anymore for a long long time, that’s for sure.

Logged on.

Did a six-lap custom race in the Suzuki VGT at Tokyo East, equal to about 27 miles. Rammed some AI for the hell of it since I disabled car collision penalties. I won, of course by blocking jackrabbit Mercedes and Infiniti VGTs and brake checking their asses.

Got my usual pathetic 5,000 credit “reward”.

Logged off.

I made a Baja Tacoma and took it to the pick up truck races. I don't have the interest to grind even the 20min sardegna race right now. I float at a bank account 8.5m and can't be bothered to build it up any more.

Tested at Sarthe:
Exeter's SRT10 (mods/results posted)
Exeter's WRX Gr.3 (not posted, but the tune is great)

Bought the Audi Team Joest (not cause I needed another Gr.1, but for the trophy)

Forget to post this until hours after I left home and finally returned, lol.

Did Sardegna in the Gr.3 F1 GTR tuned to F1 LM spec, the handling is pretty bad but the car is quite good on fuel if using FM6 and even then is still fairly fast compared to the AI.

Also made a new goal to save up for $20 million though that will take a ton of grinding as i'm only at $1,8 right now and the Escudo I assume will be around the $2 million maybe 3 range so I will need to save up to atleast $5,000,000 before the update just incase they nerf events, hopefully we get higher payout events with this update.

Did a lot today. Finally beat WTC 600*, barely GTI put in work for me there.
Then Did the next menu book with the lovely Porsche 911 GT3. Added a livery to it and made it a wide body.
Then got to the GTR menu book and discovered the beastly R32 thing was so fast pretty much beat the comp by like 20 secs every race lmao.

This game is so much fun. Esp with the Fanatec Wheel I can race all day.

MTX is still in? I hadn't noticed. ;)

Over the last week I've only been grinding Tokyo with an inordinate number of do overs thanks to being pushed into walls, or finding new puddles while avoiding being pushed into walls, which pulled me into walls. GAH. Only two or three races a day because of what's mentioned below. I did buy the CLK LM '98, but really need to grind more because funds are a little tight for Hagerty's shopping at just 4 mill now.

Otherwise, I've been writing up a storm, and a battle today, a pretty feisty one.

Decided to switch to roof cam today for my AI races, have been chase cam for years. Can see how it would be faster, much easier to spot the apex but I’m finding it really hard to judge where the other cars are, even with the radar. Looking like a really dirty driver on the replay. Don’t think this would be a good idea to try in Sport yet.

Also, some of the lower PP VGTs are great fun, having a great time for the Subaru and Mitsubish

Took the Lexus SC430 Gt500 to Spa again to see if yesterday's 2 minutes win was a fluke. The god of weather soon put paid to that, along with diabolical pit decisions. 1st rain on lap 9 as I approached Bus Stop. Weather radar full blue zoomed out. Pitted for IM. By the time the pit stop had finished & the speed at which the weather moves in GT7, the rain had stopped. 2 laps on IM, then pitted again for RH. 3 laps later (14) it buckets down. Tip-toe back to the Pits for wets. Finally won by 23 seconds.
Did 24 minutes of Le Mans in the Mazda Lm55 VGT gr1. Usual weather at Le Mans. Rained as it went dark. Went onto IM. End of lap 5, I'm 7th. Only 6+ minutes left, 2 laps, tyres seem OK. End of lap 6, 5 of the 6 in front pit. Bonus.. Now I'm 2nd 10 seconds behind, chasing 1st. Approaching Mulsanne corner, there's a yellow flag, the leaders gone off, so I inherited 1st place... Couldn't believe it. A wins a win, so I'll take that. Not sure what everyone else thinks, but I find that IM tyres benefit from driving off the dry line every so often. Maybe it's just my imagination. There's a song there somewhere.
2 star ticket of dispondency revealed a Toyota Crown Athlete G.. Turns out to be a decent day in GT7 land.
Ttfn

On book 36, I think I've bought maybe 4 cars. Nothing fancy either. Before tonight I had 1.7m saved.

I've been offered a limited time deal on a 3.6million lambo veneno tho.

This **** is predatory.

Also, I've been saving up my loot boxes, sorry, roulette tickets and tonight I opened 15 of the ****ers. Here's the mega gifts I got -

2k
10k
5k
Camshaft TRD jeep (5.3k)
5k
10k
5k
30k
30k
30k
5k
10k
Megane safety car cpu (5k)
5k
5k

Every single time there was gold on the table I got the smallest amount possible. Those 30k lottery wins were all from 4 star tickets.

It's bad, dude.
Welcome to GT7 World, mate

Restarted my quest to get back to SR S by running daily B's after a few days off.

Race 1. Got dive-bombed off of the apex on turn 3 by some twonk on lap 1. Twonk picked up a penalty though so I passed him again. Lap 2 and he's back at it - pushes me wide in a punt-to-pass move and screams off into the distance. Post-race results and he's sitting 5 spots behind me. Turns out he was after someone else that he had history with, when he got there he tried to pit-maneuver the other racer and failed hard, putting himself into the wall.

Race 2. Lap 1 and a Canadian fan of Knight Rider starts ahead of me in 5th. Turn 3 (right before the hill) there is a puff of smoke as he late brakes sending 4th place clean off the track. May have been an honest mistake, but classless in not giving the spot back. Through the S' and down the slope toward the right and he goes flying in, clearly intending to nail 3rd and he does so, sending 3rd flying into the outside wall. Not a bad racer like I thought, he's just dirty. Lap 2 starts and I'm .750 behind him but nail the first 2 corners, he misses his braking point on turn 3 and cuts back to cover the apex, I go wide carrying more momentum and pull along side him with ease before the S'. Into the left I leave him room, making sure not to pinch him on the soft right, he doesn't return the gesture on the soft left, trying to pinch me against the left apex... Karma servers up though, as instead of slowing me he just bounced off. I look at my radar to see him go hard right 45 degrees before quickly spinning and T-boning the wall on the left. I finish 3rd, he finished 8th.

Cherry on top was the clean race bonus on both races!

also bonus my final lap in the 911. What a fun car. I tuned This baby to under 700 and racing on st. Croix was a treat. My Last two laps never been so focused was hyped in shortened my times lap to lap. Also using Pure Throttle control on the final sectors I felt so good lol. Make me really feel like finally understanding a lot more about racing.

Yesterday, I had entered Daily Race A four times, including one win, and Race B once. I had also entered the WTC 800 race at Sardegna yesterday and today, which I use to obtain extra credits.

With the weekend ending it was the close of my one week immersion in Porsche automobiles. Saturday I sent time racing and grinding in my 991 for the Tokyo 12 lapper. I also built a beast 991 with maxed power and widebody, but so sublime handling that I beat the WTC 700 Championship on sport softs. Unrealistic I know, but lost of fun. Yesterday I built two 930's, mild and wild, and raced them a few times. The ended the session with a couple quick 356 races and a couple Le Mans grinds with the 911 GT1.

So this week I will start a new immersion. I was thinking of keeping it German but then decided to go with my other favorite brand, Ford.

Tonight I will set up a Mustang Gr4 for Le Mans and try to win. Then, I will race my 69 Boss 429 Vintage racer and take some of the tuning lessons I learned with my Porsches to try and improve this car's handling.

This morning I quickly discovered that my 1,000,000 CR DP-100 VGT is NOT even remotely competitive against the other VGTs in the Daytona race lol. One it was time to go, I got to watch the rest of the field take off like rockets lol. Oh well, still a cool car to detune and enter other races with. I decided to finally take a look see at these Course Experience events, and came to the conclusion that this will be a way to make a bunch of money without entering 10 lap events. So that's the daily plan going forward until I've done them all.

And yesterday I happened to see a real Honda Beat in a parking lot. Holy crap. If you think they're small in the game, you should see how tiny they are in real life. The smallest car I've ever seen.

Got to over 40 Million cr , checked the Leg Ends Dealership................. ho hum still need 3 more cars for my Group C .

Rumour has it they should pop up around the 28th of this month ............... baited breath lol .

Consider my gob well and truly smacked...

I was very disappointed at the Le Mans Circuit Experience a couple of weeks ago, as I golded all sectors except for the final Sector 5 (and also the full lap) which I could only Bronze... I tried it over and over and over again, and I finally gave up, which is incredibly rare for me to do. I could barely manage to hold it together enough to get a 38.8xx, over 3 tenths off a Silver, and over a second off Gold :indiff:

But that was with the controller...

Tonight, bouyed by some recent success with my new wheel (thanks to @daan), I realised that I was quite quick with the wheel in certain races already, and so I decided to test myself at Sector 5 on the Le Mans CE... I was particularly perplexed when daan told me "I didn't find it that hard...", but I was expecting myself to be stuck on Bronze for ages. Well - after just 3 or 4 tries, I was much faster, and on my 5th try, I got 37.203 without breaking too much of a sweat. I can't believe it... but it does go to show that if I can be so much faster after just one week of having a wheel than I can possibly muster after 20 years of playing with a controller, then frankly I need to give up using a controller for good.

Next stop is to try getting the Gold for the full circuit and get the 1,000,000 Cr. reward. I've gone from literally having no hope to being pretty confident that I can do it. The Porsche Curves are just infinitely smoother and faster with a wheel, but those last two chicanes... ooft, they can still throw a spanner in the works...

edit: And Gold on the Full Course CE :D

Brits Im Gobsmacked GIF by BRIT Awards

(Although, the full lap was a tad harder than I thought... holding it together in that final sector was very hard... and yes, I did literally break a sweat getting that done...)

Practiced some more drifting, getting slightly better, but still suck at it. No pictures of that garbage... haha.

Then did the Autopolis WTC700 in my Pantera GTS (which sucks down fuel and hates oversteer, wasn't super competitive), and the Atenza, which is the polar opposite of the Pantera in handling. Fun race regardless. Got caught in the rain in the Atenza and was able to stick it out on RH even with the rain bar was almost to three. Track dried up pretty quickly, leaving AI out on IM. Easy win.

Now patiently waiting for this weeks update and what kind of tweaks it brings. Cautiously optimistic.
