More grinding at Le Mans and Tokyo as I work my way back to the cap again because of my OCD.

Used the Delta and Impreza 22B for Tokyo this time and managed 2:08-2:09 laps in both towards the end.

The roulette insults continued on both the GTP and Plus accounts.

On the GTP account, doing the daily Tokyo grind netted me 5,000 Cr. (the low-cash prize on an all-cash wheel) from the 3-star workout roulette. On the Plus account, cleaning up Deep Forest - 1st in the European Sunday Cup with a stock Scirocco (previously 3rd with the 2016 Clio), 1st in the Nissan GT-R Cup with a Praiano-tuned R32 (previously 2nd in the same car), and 1st in the WTC 600 with the killer Focus RS (no previous result, took a couple tries to get the fuel map right) - got me a Bugatti invite out of the 4-star workout roulette (of which I already have 2 Veyrons...and a single special engine part waiting to be installed)

Beat the Mazda Roadster endurance first try. So seeing as I'd had some money to spare, decided to spend a bit at the Used Car Lot. Picked up the BMW 3.0 CSL in preparation for the Alsace enduro. Also grabbed the Honda Beat, Supra 3.0 GT, Lancer Evo IV and Porsche 993.

Haven't played for a week so came for a look at the new additions... Did the Kei car cafe menu and won the Radical (which I already have). "You'll be amazed when you see the body colour", says cafe dude... it's black. 🤦‍♂️

3-star ticket on an all-cash and gold wheel of disappointment gives me the lowest 10k credit payment. Obviously.

Did a couple of laps on the time trial - noted that those miles also don't count towards any kind of total, so it's 26.7 miles in the Daily Workout bank. That'll do for today - better leave something to come back for.

Turned it on just to see how bad this FFB screwup affects the Podium wheelbase....holy crap, it's almost completely numb. Turned it off in about 5 minutes. PD making it very hard at the minute, I have to admit....and I actually like a LOT of GT7.

Yesterday - is it yesterday at this hour?? - I bought
  • Honda NSX '17
Specifically to try on Tokyo since some people laud the thing, and Vigallo does drive the snot out of one. And changed my mind.

Instead, I finished up the final Menu Book races, at St Croix and Daytona with the trusty Super Formula. I didn't take any pics, though the first turn into the infield looked snap worthy. Maybe I'll run them again and take some pics if they look cool enough. Saw that I was on Normal difficulty, but seeing wet tires on offer, I just wanted to blow through them in case. But there was fair weather so I won both without much incident.

Then pondered more Tokyo WTC600 options, since I can't Tomahawk Chop. Was going to try the Ford Focus RS over the NSX since I don't want it or the GT-R driven by Blofeld and his lackey. But changed my mind again and looked over what others were using again. I noticed rex1825 in the Tokyo is hard thread had a number of suggested cars and tunes, and the one which looked most promising to me was the BAC Mono, which I happened to have won. So not liking his tune, I made of my own and went to try it out. It was a very nice car though on acceleration it could get quite squirrely, which I tamed with a touch of LSD adjustment. With lots of gas even on Fuel 1, no need to pit, it was an easy victory. Maybe today, I can afford to go shopping, a lot.

I know I'm supposed to be hating on GT7 like the cool kids, but I'm still lovin' it. I guess I'm not cool. I'll manage somehow.

As a casual player, endurance racing scares me lol

Just tried WTC700 Le Mans 30 Minutes using the Mitsubishi GTO, Fuel Map 6, 2 stops. Prepared for rain and everything by pitting for Wets then it's just light drizzle -_-

Winning by 5 seconds with 0.5 fuel left. Got the CRB plus 4 star ticket with...

You guys have any alternatives for the WTC700 Le Mans? The GTO is fine but I think there are better cars that won't give me anxiety with fuel lol

  • Gold at S-1
  • Gold at S-2
  • Gold at S-3
  • Gold at S-4
  • Gold at S-6
  • Gold at S-8
  • Gold at S-9

Just the Yaris Rally and S-7 in the Dallara SF-19 (saving this as I really enjoy this one) before S-10!

Can't believe how much easier and quicker I managed to do these. This was in the space of 2hrs! These took hours and miles before. I'm sure S-4 took me like 600 miles+ to complete originally.

Was there server maintenance going on this morning? Could not connect but didn't see any message and couldn't find any news on it so may just be me but had no issue with other games.

Continued acquiring old favorite road cars. This time up is a spankin' new '02 Honda NSX in that off white color. Slapped on a set of metallic red wheels and sport softs and a faster tranny and proceeded to enter it into everything it was able to enter. There's definitely some big fun to be had with just driving normal cars. Now I have to find a fave zero mileage Impreza and RX7 and enjoy racking up the odometer. My absolute fave Turismo car of all time? That silver Mitsubishi GTO from Turismo 1, seconded by the Impreza from Turismo 2 with the rally team livery. I put huge mileage on those two lol.

Ran the Le Mans World Touring Car 700 race (using the Ford GT Race Car de-tuned) a couple times for credits. 1st race it didn't rain at all; 2nd race it started raining pretty hard on lap 3 and continued until the end. I also created a livery for the Lancer Evo '15.

Did a little more grinding with the NSX-R at Nordschleife today for this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...leife-100-stock-honda-nsx-type-r-2002.408281/

Got my lap time down to a 7:48.846 in a bone stock R. Super challenging, but super fun. Proof positive that you don't need to be earning credits or trophies to enjoy playing a driving game. Nothing at stake except your own expectations.

I'd encourage anyone to take this one on just for the fun of it. I didn't start this thread, but I'm definitely going to make a similar challenge sometime soon.

Very, very good day today!

Cars bought today;

  • NONE (Obviously after spending almost 50 million yesterday ... )

Events raced today;

  • The Human Comedy; Autopolis 1 hour. Took the Suzuki Cappuccino to this event and comfortably finished in first position. 2 stop strategy. Both pitstops refuel and a set of new tires. I took some more photos from the even that can be found here.

  • The Human Comedy; Lake Maggiore 1 hour. After 3 tries with the Renault 2 days ago, i tried a different car without succes. Could not drive consistent laps with the Corvette. Fuel was not going so well and also the tires died after 5 laps give or take. Big mistake in lap 26 and i lost 2 places as well and finished 7th.

Right after, i did the race again. Different car, different strategy. Took the Genesis, bought medium tires for it and tried again. This time, with succes. Right from the start i was faster than Yamanaka in that Supra. After lap 2 i was already in first position which surprised me big time. In lap 11 i needed to pit because the mediums where dead and the consistent laps as well. (1:57/58,xxx) Fastest lap overall at 1:55,918. Another pitstop in lap 20. This time, i didn't full the tank 100%, just about 80%. In the final two laps i was a bit scared as i didn't have much fuel left. On that moment i was 32 seconds ahead of Beauvois but that dropped massively when i needed to change the fuel map to 5 and finished without any fuel left and 17 seconds ahead. Really happy i finished this one. Everything from the Human Comedy is done now. ☑️

More photos from Lake Maggiore here.

I also got 100.000 credits from a 3 star ticket.

So I was doing the Tokyo 12-lap WTC600 race in my handy-dandy red GT-R. I was on my final lap and had lapped the Viper at the back before the start of said final lap. As I was about to enter those tight S curves at turns 5 and 6. I was on track to having my best lap in the race yet in the 2:07 region. F-Type backmarker ignores the blue flag, wanders onto the racing line, and forces me to smash into them. I couldn’t do anything. Braking would’ve only slightly lessened the impact, and weaving would’ve netted me that stupid five-second penalty.

The AI in this game just frustrates me to no damn end. This is partly what causes demotivation for me in this game.

Started on WTC 800 10 lap Maggiore. Was surprised to see how much of a jump in difficulty there is over WTC 800 5 race championship. Normal Difficulty is more difficult than Hard. I had initial bad impressions of the McLaren F1 BMW 95, but today I totally had it ripping. Loved it. It sings on Racing Mediums, but it also chews up tires pretty badly and then doesn't handle them well when worn. Using Racing Hard, I still had some trouble on laps 5 and 10 and was losing confidence. 12x tire wear fuel map 4. Then I decided to mess with tuning. I have no experience, but just a few changes and I had improved handling and reduced tire wear at 799pp on Racing Hard. Dropped from 40 seconds off to about 12. Now I just need to work on lap times, but This one now seems beatable. Very enjoyable day on GT7 despite lack of real reward system.

Today - today?? What's wrong with me! - I bought
  • Third De Tomaseo Mangusta '69 at Hagerty's because race car!
And that was all. I wanted to save my few millions for some serious spending on legendary racers. I also opened three ripening tickets, two two stars and a three which earned me 5k, 2k and 10k. S'aright I guess.

Then I took the BAC Mono back to Tokyo for three races. I ran out of steam pretty fast because I couldn't sleep for four hours last night and woke up at noon. No caffeine so I'd be right proper tired tonight. Made a lot of mistakes requiring do overs, meh, so I'm done. Exploring alien worlds for the rest of the evening sounds good.

On the GTP account, I tried to turn @praiano63's R33 Tokyo tune into a non-SUV one by adapting his R32 600 PP-tune suspension/LSD settings to it, then dropping the ECU and power restrictor to 76/76. That left the PP at 599.50, the power at 352 HP@6200 RPM and the torque at 348.4 ft/lb@4500 RPM. I then held on for the win with a no-stop strategy (FM4, with a full lap of fuel in reserve) despite some ahem sub-optimal laps; the best lap was 2:15.5 with some slipstream, and I figure the best non-slipstream laps would have been right about 2:17.0 (which should allow for a decent win on normal difficulty). It seems to have a bit of understeer, and there was a bit of wear on the front tires after 12 laps. I probably could have done a FM1/1-stop strategy successfully as well; maybe tomorrow.

In a surprise, I took an Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.3 Road Car home from the 3-star marathon ticket. That's 300,000 Cr. less I'll eventually need to spend, which is good because I grabbed the Speedster out of Hagerty's.

Over on the Plus account, I golded the IB license tests, getting the GR Supra Race Car and Taycan Turbo S. The 2-star marathon roulette continued the small cash prize/worthless prize string for 5,000 Cr.

Finally got gold on “Mission - Intermediate Drifting 2”. Took forever, I hate drifting. Last mission to gold is advanced drifting, maybe tomorrow.
My DualShock 5 (or whatever they call the controller for the PS5) pretty much died for my drifting golds on the GTP account. I don't think it can take getting golds on the Plus account.

Lol. I originally just got bronze on drift challenges (with wheel) and moved on, but hurt my leg this week and couldn’t drive proper so figured a good time to do drift with DS4… hope they survive. One more to go.

The Human Comedy; Autopolis 1 hour.
Did that race today myself, after a failed attempt last night where I could only manage third. Ended up winning with an S660 but with a three stop strategy (pitting when the leaders did). I was comfortably faster than the first two cars but really struggled during the first stint to get thru the field. So much so, that I was 31 seconds behind after the first stop. Once I was able to find some clear track though and put some consistent laps in, it was a pretty simple race.

Going to buy the Beetle Gr.3 and try the Red Bull Ring Human Comedy mission tonight.

And also, got a whole 10,000 credits from a two star ticket. Oh joy...

There's plenty to choose from but I found the Jag and Aston Gr.4s are easy drives, fast and if you put to FM3 will give you 3 laps. After second stop on lap 6 you can whack the FM down to 1 to let 'er rip! Rain allowing, of course. Oh, those cars had turbos added at the tuning shop....
