Exactly the same I did and have done in the past.
I enjoyed driving every single Kilometer in GT7.
Honestly, this Game is killing me.
I play Video Games since I was a little Kid, but GT7 just got this Magic.
I‘ve been there since the very first beginning in 1997 and was immediately blown away what PD and Mr. Yamauchi have created.
Now it’s 2022 I’m an old Man yet as soon as I fire up GT it brings back the little Kid in me.
It’s my way of being able to totally dive into a Virtual Reality of being a Race Driver and let myself get immersed and soaked into the illusion of sitting behind the Wheel of a Car and driving it.
So yeah, that’s what I did today.
I was a Race Driver 🙂
YES, YES, YES, YES, SO MUCH YES, TOTALLY AGREE!!!! I was there at the first as well. Now I'm 52 and still giggle when I win a race, get a new car, get another gold, and when the title screen comes on 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

On the Plus account, I took the Corvette Gr.3, tuned to 730PP based on foxdylan's tune, to High Speed Ring for the Gone with the Wind mission race. It took a bit to find the right strategy, but I eventually did. The first stint was on RH tires and FM5 for the first 3 laps and FM4 for the next 7. I came in out of P4 on lap 10 just as the track was becoming too slick for racing slicks, taking on some wet tires (everybody else put on intermediates, mostly on lap 11) and a full load of fuel, and coming out 6th.

I turned up the wick to FM3, which got me back to 4th by the end of lap 12, and, for a brief moment, 3rd by sweeping along the middle of the last turn on lap 14. I promptly gave the spot back as the now-drying track, 1-lap fresher tires (intermediates) and more-aggressive fuel map gave the AI drivers the advantage. I also lost 4th and 5th as I started lap 16.

Four of the five front-runners came down for fuel only on lap 17, and I pulled off a sweet pass going into the first turn between the exiting Viper and the backmarker Alfa Gr.4 to take 2nd. The leading SLS AMG and I came down for fuel on lap 18 (a lap too much for me with a full load as it turned out, but it was better than running out), and I went for broke by switching to RMs and turning the fuel map to 1.

I needed a break or three because I came out 7th. Break one came in the form of the backmarker Vette while the frontrunners were working lap 19. It ran out of fuel going into the tunnel, and that held up 3rd-6th, which were well ahead, between the tunnel and the last corner. The SLS and 458 Italia made it through that mess relatively cleanly, but the Italia immediately came down to pit road. The Vantage and M6, however, were held up long enough for me to catch them in the tunnel on lap 20.

Break two came in the form of the remaining 3 front runners (in order, the white Viper, the Citroen, and the SLS) not taking tires on their second pit stops. The Viper corrected that somewhat on lap 21 by taking another round of intermediates to maintain a decent gap ahead of me, but the SLS fell victim in the last corner of that lap. The Citroen, on the other hand, stayed out, had nothing but red on the right-rear tire, a sliver of white on the left-rear tire, and a major disparity between the front tires (the right more worn). He still had enough control thanks to AI magic to not crash before pitting on lap 22 for another round of intermediates and fuel, but he lost 1st to the Viper and 2nd to me by staying out way too late.

Break three came when the leading Viper came down to pit at the end of lap 23 for RS tires. I probably would have caught him on lap 24 anyway, but that left him in the pits as time expired and relegated to 3rd. I just had to cruise to easily hold off the Citroen, collect the 10,000 Cr. for the win, and get the Viper Gr.4 and F1500T for completing/golding Gone with the Wind.

Partly because I'm a sadist, I grabbed the Mazda LM55 Gr.1, put the St. Croix 950PP tune on it, and went to Sarthe to complete The Sun Also Rises. That was a laugher - I set FM2, pitted for wet tires on lap 3, blew past the AI, which were on intermediates, on lap 4, and managed the degradation on lap 7 for an easy win. The 10,000 Cr. for the win is nothing, and the BRZ drift car for completing The Sun Also Rises is next to nothing, but the 2J for getting all golds isn't bad. The same can't be said for the Pagani invite from the 4-star marathon Wheel of Despair.

That leaves the Human Trage...er...Comedy and the circuit experiences there. On the GTP account, I did the Fuji and the first 2 Tokyo CEs, and the second one was a real beast despite my experiences in the rain. The 4-star Wheel of Despair was the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. It was barely enough to get the F40.

Well said!

I'm also loving the game mate. And it's only going to get better over time.

My collecting OCD can finally rest easy...

Last night I tuned up an LT-swapped MX-5/Miata and fully tuned it. It now puts out 829hp and can run 246mph/397kph at SSRX!

This morning I tried the McLaren 650S at Sardegna. It's pretty slow on FM6 and I had a shocking first stint running a 1-stop race. It also wasn't helped by the tail marker barrelling into me at full pace on my one and only pit exit and causing me so much damage I got past by 3 cars in the first half of the lap. WTF can PD not program the AI to run to the left past the pit exit and not run the exiting car straight out into the middle of the circuit?!

today i've golded the watkins glen CE. spent the better part of yesterday on it. couldn't do it. Today tried 3 times during lunch break and boom. 1:17:06. gold.
It makes me realise that I'm not a very skilled driver. The amount of time needed to gold most CE is creazy. I think i'm at peace with beeing a C driver.

Today I bought the F40, tuned it down to 599PP, and did a few races. It handles really nicely for a car on Sport Hard tyres.

Took a few photos of it flying round Spa, picked up a few 4 and 6 star tickets, and then had a look at my V8 MR2…

It’s not a nice car to drive on sport tyres. I tried to keep it under 600PP but I just couldn’t find a setup that made the most of the R8 engine. Maybe it’s better if I abandon that idea and get some slicks on it and a few other mods to get it up towards 700PP.

Some of the engine swaps really work well. 2JZ Yaris, for example, is an absolute blast. But some clearly need time putting in to make them worthwhile. Still love the sound of the V8 though!

Today saw us try to recreate yesterday's shenanigans at Le Mans with the Jaguar XJR9. Tweaked the gears as it wasn't reaching 5th at the chicanes on Mulsanne Staight, which comprised the fuel efficiency a little. Managed a full 5 laps on FM1, but it's amazing how this car holds the road. Started raining at the end of lap 2. Didn't change from RH to IM until pitting for fuel at the end of lap 5. Unreal grip this car has.
So, I wondered what else we could do. Looked in the garage & found the Pantera wide body I defeated Alsace mission with. Took it to Understeer & gave it the full gubbins, port polish, stroke and bore up. You get the idea. But, funnily enough, you can't buy a turbo or supercharger for this car.

Took it to Le Mans. So much fun with this car. Thought it might need a bit more downforce, but managing the tail slide was so much fun. Tuning was based on a Praiano tune with gearing tweaks for LeMans.

Today I had 40 million cr , had..............

Purchased 5 x XJR-9 ( Numbered now as 1.2.3.4.5 ) another 2 x 962's ( I know have 8 )

Still have over 20 Million cr left , hoping the Nissan and the Mazda Group C drop this week so I can get 3 of each .

Oh yeah and bought some old banger of a F40 as well

:dopey:

I've done the same with my MR2. I

I've done the same with the MR2. I'm also trying to find a tune to stop it wanting to swap ends on corner exits.

Still trying to beat that mf 30 min Like the Wind race. Even Heavy Wets don't seem to help much. Of course, the rain doesn't seem to slow down the AI.
I got so lucky with mine, I had 1 lap of rain and didn't even need to change tyres.

Decided to see what the latest was on offer over at Haggerty. Cried with joy when I saw my favorite vintage red Mercedes race car just waiting for me to take it home. Tried a race with it, then figured it would be a great car to take on over to Watkins and start learning to drive with no TCS. Total fun.

Did a Gr 3 Nurburgring Enduro with the FT-1 (I am obsessed with the 24x time scale). Got 500k from a 4 Star! I then did a few glitch tickets and got a Weight Reduction for the Aventador S and a dupe NISMO GT-R engine. Finally, bought a 2000GT.

With Watkins Glen in the game now, I might do my own 6h race with Gr 1.

Last night I raced the Mazda Atenza Gr3 Road Car and Miata Touring car in the 600pp Tokyo grind. Neither got me the win so I tried a couple adjustments and unfortunately no improvement.

The Atenza has plenty of horsepower but the fuel consumption and gearing do not allow me to use the power effectively. I can be quick in the corners but the lower power needed (FM2) to use a winning pit stop strategy leaves me vulnerable on the straight and I can't make up the ground lost. I really like racing this car so I will use it tonight in other 600pp races and see how it does.

The Miata is just too underpowered and although fun in the corners, it's just not fast enough to offset the time lost on the straight.

Tonight I will try to get my Gr5 Miata built, race the Atenza a bit, and start building a 600pp RX7 and RX8.

After roughly 2 years ever since I last played GT Sport, I bought GT7 and will start to play the game tonight, so I guess I'll start it the same way I started back in GTS:

Golding all license tests and circuit experiences will be the first thing I'll play with, I will also check out a few driving missions but I'll gold them only later on.

I wanted to hop on the roulette glitch so I could a least secure the engine swaps, but I dont think I will have enough time to reach the collection level 20 in time, as I need to own 3 legendary cars that costs 20 millions plus a few other requirements.

This time around I plan on staying on lobbies more than Sport mode, now that the cars have customization options then I'll look forward to hop on some highway racing lobbies to relive the good days of the SSR11 on Gran Turismo 5...

Either way, I hope I will have more fun with this game than GT Sport, that game and its e-sports focus just wasn't for me, I played that game less than a year after purchasing it.

Got a Corvette engine swap today, I think it was the LS9? Anyway, shoved it into the Firebird and tuned the car to a whopping 934bhp. Then I went to the GT Auto downloaded a livery. Some kind of rusty livery with a worn faded flag on it. Took the car to the Daytona Clubman tri-oval race, which is my go-to for testing American cars out. It gets up to almost 240 mph, but strugglers to deal with the banked curves very well even with some tuning, so it may not be a car I use for anything other than laughs.

Ran the F40 at Sarthe 2x. The first race it was 2 bars of water from Lap 3 til mid-Lap 5 and never fully dried, 6 lap total. 2nd race, the rain came a bit later and didn’t last as long, but due to a spin-out on pit entry at the end of Lap 5, no 7th lap again. The car needs some help, that much is for sure.

Purchased another ‘20 Yaris, ‘98 Integra and ‘02 RX-7, installed engines, and tuned the Yaris and RX-7. I’m hoping I can use the RX-7 for the “Grand Slam (Tokyo, Sarthe, Sardegna and Spa)” without using a different vehicle.

Tried Pra’s Escudo tune at Sardegna and turned some remarkably consistent lap times, but couldn’t crack 1:40 and had a slight problem with my economy (will sort this out another time).

So many ideas running through my head now. I need to set up The Glen Challenge, test the ‘84 GTO for Grand Slam potential, test the Veneno at Spa to see if its Grand Slam worthy (already taken down the other 3), etc… There’s no lack of content in the game, if you can get creative with what it does offer.

Starting to feel a bit numb with this game. It can be sooo good at times, but too few and far between. Need more 1-4 hour endurance races with weather on tracks and decent payout to keep me going. How can it be that a glorious track like the nurburgring still doesnt have an endurance event? Its just a shame. If costum races would have a better payout it would be better already. Anyway. Bought an f40 and the gt1 jag. Contemplating a second f40 to tune up to 800pp if possible, for my oldschool group 1 feeling. Have about 20 mil credits. Should i splurge on the ferrari 250 gto?? Decisions.....

Last night I did some livery work on my newly-purchased Vantage GT3, importing a livery from GT Sport - and discovered either the mapping has changed or they've renamed some of the old preset decals and now the shapes don't match up the way they used to... I was short on time so I just accepted the changes, to be updated and corrected later. Then ran it in the WTC800 at Sardegna. Easy win on a 1-stop strategy, 26s ahead of Portilla in Viper - I'll have a go at a 2-stop in it tonight. I also then jumped onto Sport to export a few of my oldest liveries which never made it through to 7, so I'll be importing those for the 911 RSR, BMW M6 GT3 and the Vantage.
Oh and I also checked out a few 4-star and engine roulettes - found a High Lift Cam S for the Aston DB11 and a 500k credit one! :D
