On the Plus account, I took the Corvette Gr.3, tuned to 730PP based on foxdylan's tune, to High Speed Ring for the Gone with the Wind mission race. It took a bit to find the right strategy, but I eventually did. The first stint was on RH tires and FM5 for the first 3 laps and FM4 for the next 7. I came in out of P4 on lap 10 just as the track was becoming too slick for racing slicks, taking on some wet tires (everybody else put on intermediates, mostly on lap 11) and a full load of fuel, and coming out 6th.
I turned up the wick to FM3, which got me back to 4th by the end of lap 12, and, for a brief moment, 3rd by sweeping along the middle of the last turn on lap 14. I promptly gave the spot back as the now-drying track, 1-lap fresher tires (intermediates) and more-aggressive fuel map gave the AI drivers the advantage. I also lost 4th and 5th as I started lap 16.
Four of the five front-runners came down for fuel only on lap 17, and I pulled off a sweet pass going into the first turn between the exiting Viper and the backmarker Alfa Gr.4 to take 2nd. The leading SLS AMG and I came down for fuel on lap 18 (a lap too much for me with a full load as it turned out, but it was better than running out), and I went for broke by switching to RMs and turning the fuel map to 1.
I needed a break or three because I came out 7th. Break one came in the form of the backmarker Vette while the frontrunners were working lap 19. It ran out of fuel going into the tunnel, and that held up 3rd-6th, which were well ahead, between the tunnel and the last corner. The SLS and 458 Italia made it through that mess relatively cleanly, but the Italia immediately came down to pit road. The Vantage and M6, however, were held up long enough for me to catch them in the tunnel on lap 20.
Break two came in the form of the remaining 3 front runners (in order, the white Viper, the Citroen, and the SLS) not taking tires on their second pit stops. The Viper corrected that somewhat on lap 21 by taking another round of intermediates to maintain a decent gap ahead of me, but the SLS fell victim in the last corner of that lap. The Citroen, on the other hand, stayed out, had nothing but red on the right-rear tire, a sliver of white on the left-rear tire, and a major disparity between the front tires (the right more worn). He still had enough control thanks to AI magic to not crash before pitting on lap 22 for another round of intermediates and fuel, but he lost 1st to the Viper and 2nd to me by staying out way too late.
Break three came when the leading Viper came down to pit at the end of lap 23 for RS tires. I probably would have caught him on lap 24 anyway, but that left him in the pits as time expired and relegated to 3rd. I just had to cruise to easily hold off the Citroen, collect the 10,000 Cr. for the win, and get the Viper Gr.4 and F1500T for completing/golding Gone with the Wind.
Partly because I'm a sadist, I grabbed the Mazda LM55 Gr.1, put the St. Croix 950PP tune on it, and went to Sarthe to complete The Sun Also Rises. That was a laugher - I set FM2, pitted for wet tires on lap 3, blew past the AI, which were on intermediates, on lap 4, and managed the degradation on lap 7 for an easy win. The 10,000 Cr. for the win is nothing, and the BRZ drift car for completing The Sun Also Rises is next to nothing, but the 2J for getting all golds isn't bad. The same can't be said for the Pagani invite from the 4-star marathon Wheel of Despair.
That leaves the Human Trage...er...Comedy and the circuit experiences there. On the GTP account, I did the Fuji and the first 2 Tokyo CEs, and the second one was a real beast despite my experiences in the rain. The 4-star Wheel of Despair was the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. It was barely enough to get the F40.
