I went back and
gold-ed (with
MT) the
regular B-Licenses that I had only
silver-ed/bronze-d (with AT)…then went through the ones I had already gold-ed and bettered those times as well. Only ten licenses I know, but it was a start.
Then, I did a few
MT Time Trial laps of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as I had been running that track (in AT) for the last week in honour of the F1🏎️ from the weekend, however, my heart wasn't in it (as the F1 weekend was over and I knew that Deep Forest Raceway was sitting there, waiting)...so I selected my garaged Gr.4 of choice and hit the Daily Race B track.
My first 5laps were very average, and by very average I mean
terrible. My next 5laps were better but still a bit off and I was not in any way feeling comfortable. I then thought I would select AT again and see if that helped...but as soon as I did I felt weird and awkward and like I was cheating the game, so went back to MT.
This time I just started putting in better and better laps, trying to nail down my brake markers and corner gearings. About 10laps in I had this moment where I kinda just felt like I belonged in a MT car and my laps got real consistent.
I started
hearing the gear up-shift points rather than
seeing in the HUD when they should be, I started trialling different gears for some corners, I started using up-shifts in gears to arrest over-steering out of tight corners, I started using down-shifts in gears when I would feel like braking wasn't going to be enough and I was going to overshoot a corner. It became really fun being able to make small adjustments to keep my car on the track and work on besting that damn Ghost.
So, I am a very happy camper at the moment, very much looking forward to finishing work today and heading home to get me some Daily Race B action
