I personally think the addition of highly detailed cockpit views in GT5p are the best thing since sliced bread, it's probably one of the key reasons I got it.

On that note, what do you think is the nicest place to be while in game?.

I don't have too many cars ATM, but it's a tie up between the '07 GTR and the Tamora.

I just love the GTR's working LCD display, and the tamora because of its "backwards" revcounter, little readouts in the dials, and the working shift lights :)

It is such I fine addition to GT5p that I like most of the sportscar's interior. The R8, F430 seem to be very nice.

:)

I love the F40 so much, it's basically the only car i really drive. The cockpit is a bit dark-ish however. The F430 has a really nice one, and the old 512BB has a real nice oldschool one. :sly:

From a gadget nut's point of view the GTR is nice.

I'm in two minds about the cockpit view though. The proportions don't seem quite right and the dials appear too small. On the other hand it makes me feel more immersed in the game.

One thing it did make me realise is that when I drive, I don't read the dials (in real life), I just glance and I feel when to change up if I'm driving quickly as I know my cars quite well.

So, driving with the cockpit view is taking some getting used to as I spend too long looking at the dials and not where I'm going :-)

I think the cockpit view is the most brilliant addition to a racing game ive seenf or ages. GT's cockpit is so much more different than in any other games ive seen, i can tput my finger on it but its just way better.

Ive gotta say the R8 interior is really nice, and the GTR but the yellow F430 rev'er is brilliant.

There are quite a few good-looking cockpits in GT5P but I love the view over the Subaru Impreza STI Type RA '05 hood. The massive hood-scoop and placement of the view is perfect from what I remember of my joyrides in the real world. Not to mention the car is so much fun to drive in game and out.

My favorite is definentally the Art Morrison Corvette cockpit, the red is very vivid, and apart from the digital gear change lights on top of the wheel, it's very old-school. Also the chrome bar over the windscreen can be seen, it's so shiny!! 👍

The Dodge Viper has to be one of the worst, you can't tell me that when you drive the car that's the view you get, half the screen is blacked out, surely legally you have to be able to see out the window! Has one of the quietest rides though if you were looking for a car to actually purchase.

I like the Art Morrison and the Mini Cooper interiors, and obviously all teh Ferrari's are good to look out of.

The interior view with the quality they have introduced is teh highlight of GT5P

Propably the R35 GT-R for me. I really wish PD had made the R34 GT-R display working with all the data bars moving, that would have been my #1. They have pretty much all the info it needs anyway, throttle position, boost, oil pressure, 4wd split percentage..

I though the Blitz Skyline was cool. Full carbon Dash. Not good looking though just cool. So far im liking the NSX Type R interior. Very airy and sweet.

The Amuse GT1 interrior is pretty awesome, but I also like the blitz for the cage and all race built everything. Z06 is pretty cool with the HUD, but the rest is just blah.

F430 has the best interiors, but they are all almost perfect. I really like this view and not using any other. But who knows where to make it the default view? Every first start I have to switch to it.

The TVR Tamora has a really pretty cockpit. It just looks right. I love that little car. Too bad the Brits put the steering wheel on the wrong side!!! :)

Great shot! And that's exactly what it looks like to drive the real thing too! Kazunori was very concerned that the game's perspective looking out of the cockpit was exactly the same as the real thing. The details are amazing - see the little seam just to the left of the gauge cluster? That's an access panel that we had to make to get to the bolt holding the windshield frame in place. Because the OE dashes are padded we had to to A LOT!!! of work to make it look good and had to fab these little panels to get to the windshield mounts.

I think somebody here had mentioned that the wheel obstructs the speedo, but that's the way it is with the real car...... The old wheel was large enough that it was on the outside of the speedo, and just about rub your legs when driving (you needed the extra leverage because of the manual steering). with the real thing you can either drive by the tach or just lift your head slightly to see the speedo.

Craig, welcome to GT Planet. I only found your original thread yesterday as I was on holiday at the time it was posted. I am very impressed with car, the way it looks, the way it sounds (connects PS3 to Marshall amp and turns dial to 11) and the way it drives athough I still have my L-plates on. Oh to own a car like that. An incentive to work harder or do the lottery.
