What do you think is the best cockpit in game?

The Amuse S2000 GT1 is nice. The all red interior is stunning in HD and the sweeping digital tach sweeps and drops down on upshifts authentically. Too bad when I set the game to MPH it still displays in KPH on the dash.

The Z06's HUD display on the windsheild is pretty cool too. Love driving both of these cars.

I haven't driven the Art Morrison vette yet, saving up for the Formula 1 car right now, but it's interior by the look of these pictures look great. I see what looks like a start button...an S2000 start button? nice!

I hope a new patch comes to allow us to customize our HUD displays so that in cockpit view, we can turn off the HUD and just experience driving the car in the cockpit view.

i like the tvr tamora, the aston martin, the s2000 gt1 and the ferrari's, specially the f430
and the f2007:D another one on my list is the blitz er34. the dash looks so nice ! oh and the speed 6 of course. love how the dash just lights up when you drive into the tunnel at hsr. the art morrison corvette also looks pretty good. but the speed 6 will still be my number 1.

The DB9, no doubt about it. I love the interior especially if you drive around London in it, you can see the buildings reflecting off the centre panel. Quite phenomenal.

The proportions don't seem quite right and the dials appear too small.
If you actually spend a large amount of time in one of the cars in-game you will see that the proportions are right, but being on a flat screen makes things seem a bit off. It's especially noticeable when you realize that in real life you rarely focus on all the stuff around you and the game cannot simulate unnoticed semi-peripheral vision. Perhaps if we get some form of eye tracking technology, but not until then.

But I drive a MkV Golf/Rabbit, which shares the interior with the GTI, and the MkV Golf GTI in the game is spot on, including proportions. I was truly amazed at the amount of details. I know Joey has said the same thing of the Mini Cooper.

As for a favorite, I don't really have one as I am using an SDTV and can't actually read dials and whatnot. However, looking at the Morrison Corvette screenshot that definitely puts it up there as a true possible favorite.

Jaguar XK vs. Aston Martin DB9. It's a toughie.

Xk since its whole lot cheaper! :)

Now since there is no more Aston Martins in the FORD family, expect better things from Jaguar ...
Cough cough XK-RR COUGH

@Ardius

Grand Valley ??? WTF. This is the eiger nordwand.

lol, sorry, I must have been high off the glue theyve been using around my flat or something.

Personally, I'd go for the DB9, the fact that the XK is automatic for some reason annoys me. If it was a XKR-S my opinion would be different, but alas. Then again, DBR9....

Erm, there are no more Jaguar's in the Ford family either. Good riddance, Ford ruined Jagaur, in my opinion.

Yeah? really? I thought Jag was still under ford or in the faimly, something like that.. lets me see... http://www.ford.com/ they still are

From Top gear, They did review of teh Super rare XK-RR
They say they don't make them because of FORD and Aston Martin. If Jag did make the RR's Aston could go out of business since Jags would be cheater and almost better racy then the Austins.

The sale is yet to be completed, but Ford have officially sold Jaguar to Indian company, Tata Motors:

Careful there with your spelling, theres a big difference between Austin's and Aston's, and yes, Ford held Jaguar back, despite the fact that Ford never made a single profit from their ownership of Jaguar. They even decided to throw away a pile of money backing a Formula 1 team. It's amazing Jaguar is not dead yet.

Some sort of variable zoom might be nice. You can zoom in for driving, so that most of the controls are out side the screen, or zoom out to current cockpit view to show all the pretty buttons.

Ah I see, thanks for clearing it up. :)
But still, now since Jaguar, and Aston Martin are separated for good, we can see RRs coming in :)

I like the current camera position. It looks just like what I can see when in my car. I feel like zooming it in would be equivelant to me leaning over the wheel granny style.

Technically we already are there with the XKR-S, plus the fact Jaguar have said that they are no longer going to compete against Mercedes and BMW in the mass-production, business sports car market and are instead going to build less for better quality, more like Aston Martin, TVR or Ferrari. Which I hope will work for them, I also hope to see a Le Mans GT1 class racer sometime from them, that would be great.

I think all the in car views are great, but my particular favourites...

The BMW 1-series tii concept: You can see the stitching on the wheel, the way the texture looks like the alcantara surfaces of the real thing, the dials... all of it looks great.

The Ford GT: All the working dials, the little GT badge in the centre of the steering wheel that actually shows reflections, and the view out of the back.

The Lotus Elise: My mate has one of these and the look and sound in the game is perfect.

All that said, that screenshot of the Art Morrison Corvette looks pretty impressive...

You wrote that Jaguar were going to go for better quality and point to TVR.....You've obviously never owned a Jaguar or TVR then. TVRs are notoriously poor quality.

I actually have never owned any car, lol. :D

Point is, thats the market they are going for, perhaps TVR doesn't quite fit into the category.

TVRs are notoriously poor quality.

Wrong, TVRs have notoriously poor reliability. The quality of materials is usually very good and even the fit and finish is pretty good. They just don't work most of the time :sly:

*nod* shame

*cough*splutter* Exsqueeze me? Baking powder?

TVR is an exercise in marketing. What you can see looks good, what is under the skin ain't so hot. Take a look at the finishing in the corners of the bootlid shuts to see what I mean. And a take a look at any chassis of any car, any age to see how much corrosion protection there is.

Same as 80s Lotus. The best way to own one is to buy it, then completely strip it nut from bolt, rework everything (properly, for the TVR: from the top-end of the engine to the underside of the chassis) and then put it back together yourself.

Nowt wrong with corrosion protection. And them being made of fiberglass is a good thing too, because you can bet that if it wasn't they'd rust pretty quickly!

I maintain that they're well built though (and the finish is good even if the shutlines aren't), they're just let down by mechanical and electrical maladies.

XK R-S and RR are two different cars.. right?

And about Good looking cockpits. Just recently I got the Lancia car... and its HIDEOUS! :boggled: really really OLD-SCOOL inside the car, but the outside looks really great!

Yeah, also, I just found out that the new FIA GT3 Championship starting in May has a certain Jag:

Meet the Jaguar XKR GT3 👍

Anyway, so insanely off topic.

I like the Dodge Viper GT-S interior a lot, especially in the all-red colour, its looks so good with the huge bonnet and everything.

Finally, someone else that likes the Viper's interior. Easily my favorite car to drive with the in-car cam.

I was impressed with the cockpit view, but I was knocked out when I looked toward the back window of the Ford GT. They put so much effort into making it look real, and I was hypnotized by the moving shadows! (In replay mode, obviously!)

The Mini Cooper S is good, only car in the game I've driven in real life and it's spot on on the interior view. Makes me want to drive the real thing again!
