What do you think is the most frustrating game ever?

I havent yet, im stuck at the omega weapon :scared:

Im looking forward to penance though
Thats a fun fight :) It may take you a little bit to figure out a good attack plan but once you do it's not that hard. FFX wasn't that hard or frustrating for me, just really annoying to get to penance. I spent like 10 hours alone trying to get capture the damn 10 tonberry's. For some stupid reason they just woundn't show up. I think I had 10 of everything when I had 3 tonberry's. Beyond that it wasn't so bad just tedious as I did everything there was to do in that game from penance to stat maxing for 255 every stat on every character. Omega weapon and penance just require a good formula for attack like all the harder bosses in the monster arena. I did have a problem with the dark versions of the 3 sisters though... forget their name sandy mindy and whatever. They kept using the delta attack at the start of the fight before I could do anything doing like 500,000 damage.

After not playing any video games for about a year, I am currently playing FF X-2 now (and of course GT4) which is fun but the story plotline leaves something to be desired. It's not as epic as the other story lines. Like all FF's the story is good but this one is very girly pop style which I don't really care for. Of course it has some of the best graphics in any video game though with the best CG movies and great gameplay for a RPG and square's top class all around production. The game is pretty easy though as are most Final Fantasies and only the side games are long or any kind of a challenge, mostly the annoying kind like the Sky Slots which is absolutely rediculously rigged! Thats the only part of the game which makes me mad but it's not important so it doesnt affect the game.

Surprisingly the most frustrating game for me has been of course... GT4. While not *that* hard for me being a noobie has been a test in patience for sure. I am by no means a bad player but some races make me wonder if I am fit to drive any motor vehicle. I have only been playing for 4-5 weeks though and didnt play GT2 or 3. I have alot of learning to do still.

The biggest point of frustration came first at the Nurburgring... lol which I am sure is alot of people's answer in regards to GT4. I had never seen the ring until the IA lap test. Holy cr*p! What a painful intro to the nurburgring. What made it 10x worse was trying to learn the course while following that retarded AI in the pace car. I wanted to launch my controller up that pace car's tailpipe. I would progress through the course staying on the pace car doing fairly well then all of a sudden the pace car would brake insanely early and I would run into the back of him DQing me. Still after about 8 to 10 tries I finished with a silver which doesn't seem too bad for a nurb virgin. Getting a silver showed that I was pushing it harder then need be for my first time but it was rewarding.

Of course another point and still is a point of frustration are the missions. I have completed them all but the stupid NYC mission 11? and the nurb mission 34. The Nurb one I am not too frustrated yet as I have been completing most of the tries and steadily reducing my times. On my 6th try I think about +10 seconds now but my first lap was so slow I could have been lapped by a 3 legged horse. I probably should buy a few extra controllers for shaving those last 10 seconds off. Mission 11 on the other hand is the bane of my existence lol I HATE that stupid car. My mattress has a stiffer spring suspension then that car. I've tried it about 15 times now which may not be alot but it's getting on my nerves. It's not the sort of dramatic loss like flying off the side of the road or into a wall. Its a slow lingering death where you know you took that turn too slow or braked just a little too much. It eats at you until you just know you dont stand a chance. I had a problem with skyline drafting course too for a little while cuz the AI is so retarded in fact even on my winning run I still had to keep braking so the AI could catch up so I could draft him.

GT4 overall isn't that frustrating though, even for a beginner. It's a challenge yes, but readily conquerable. The games I can't stand are the ones that are badly designed which causes the challenge and frustration. Things that aren't intelligently put in but just dumbly overstated so it becomes difficult. You see this alot in older games but still happens in newer games too. I like things that frustrate me because of the intelligent challenge. IMO luck shouldnt be the determining factor of overcoming a game designed obstacle. Otherwise a lucky chimp could play this game instead of me. Some of those other driving games definitely reflect this mentality and poor approach which is why I always hold GT as the yard stick to measure all other driving games.

the most frustrasting game ever for me had to be gta:san andreas. way too long and too in-depth. for me, i played it for about 12 hours, and had no idea where i was and no idea where i was going. after playing gta:vc, i loved it. but to have an entire state to go through was too much for me. i hated it.

San Andreas. Arrgh.

Actually, San Andreas was *easy* compared to the other GTA series. Mind, i was a lot younger when i played GTA 3 and GTA: Vice City.

However, i wouldn't like to sound like i am putting you down. In some missions in GTA: San Andreas, it is almost rock solid difficultly. I did find that if you took everything nice and steady, it was easy to finish them off....apart from the timed missions. 'Specially that RC Zero missions.....that was really, really, really rock hard to do!

Midnight Club 3: Dub Editions is still my most frustrating game i've play....even though i have completed it now. Man, those Exotics! Fast, but forever crashing!

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is pretty hard to do, when you want to get through it all quickly, without all the cut-scenes and the guards getting in the way...and invariably, they do. Leading to a very quick death. In a hail of bullets and the "Game Over" screen.....

Driver 2, i have played, but i can't for the life of me remember what it had in! And the missions...i think i need to fire it up soon and find out....i *think* i finished it....*runs off to his PS1 to load Driver 2 in it and find out*

Probably the most frustrating game for me...when i was a kid...I've since gotten over it...was Sonic 2. I kept on getting stuck in Chemical Plant Zone, Act 2, because I kept on drowning in a certian area. Now I can easily pass that part.

also frustrating, the Thunder Challenges in NASCAR Thunder 2003, as I still can't win the last three, all of them at Charlotte, all of them "Legend" level, and all of them hard as hell.

San Andreas is hard. Everyone goes on about how great it is. However, they forget to mention how annoying it is when you die on a mission, and instead of restarting you wake up at a hospital, lose all your weapons, have to spend ages driving around to the gun store to buy more guns, then ddrive back to do the mission and probably die again. Argh.

Alex The Kidd and Wonder Boy on the Sega Master system. Those two games were ridiculously long and there was no saving plus you only had three or so lives. It got to the stage that when i died at high levels i wouldn't play the game for weeks due to frustration - didn't complete those two games.

'Ghouls n Ghosts' on my old Amstrad was also annoying at first. You would enter the next screen before you knew what was in it, which was extremely annoying especially when it resulted in encountering a enemy that you weren't prepared for. Completed it though, after a while :D

Yeah, but thats not hard, just annoying....

Abe's Odyssey is one game I will never like to think off again 👎

At first it was quite fun and exciting - running around defusing mines and slapping other Abe's to get them to follow you etc. But after a while it became quite boring not to mention hard and when you died you had to start whole sections afresh which i wasn't having any off to be quite frank. It also has a very boring plot which is very un-interesting and pointless!

Gave it away to my younger cousin who use to pester me for games - no wonder he hasn't come back! :D

alien resurrection on ps1. i still put it on from time to time and i still cant get any further on with it.

the most frustrating moment whilst playing videogames for me was one time i was on madden 04 and one game was going particularly badly. i couldnt complete a pass to save my life, then the straw that broke the camels back was an interception i threw late on in the game    . after repeated cries of 'oh for ****s sake!' following previous failed passes this one was just too much and i swung my controller by the wire and smashed it into the floor..............repeatedly. i've never seen a shoulder button fly so far

Thats why you have the 'save' facility!

Save your game after a completed mission - then when you start a new mission and die you just go back to where you saved before hand ie the start of that mission, with all your guns and health, and probably a start place not far from the mission you're trying to complete. Its hardly rocket science.

Yes, i have done that but on some missions (especially the last one) which are extremely long and can take up to half an hour to complete this is pointless. Even if you do save before the mission you will have to do the whole thing again, which is intensely annoying.

crash bandicoot 2 cortex strikes back for the ps when youre walking to the screen you can't turn that blasted camera around and guess what?

i end up falling in the pits

goodness it pisses me off:mad:

:dumb::dunce: i wonder why?:dunce: :dumb:

the most frustrating time is on gran turismo 2 i was about to win a really hard race and it started to go in slow motion and i lost control and lost the race :guilty: :grumpy:  :banghead: :ouch:

:sigh: well back to the old drawing board:sigh::sigh start the race again:dunce: :sigh:

Slow Motion? Do you mean a game slowdown?

from what i can remember, i do not recall GT2 having a "slow motion" feature...or "bullet time" (Devil May Cry feature).

Could you elaborate? :)

some crap game that i rented from a shop

becuase i hate it so much i cant remember the name..all i remember is Yu-Gi-Oh. Its so boring and confusing, nothing like the Yu-Gi-Oh show

A case of "so close yet so far" with Incredible Crisis. The last level ever with the bicycle chased by a tractor is nerve-wrecking. The button configuration to buttonmash on this simple level is impossible to get! I never completed it. :ill:

it happened with an emulator when the music got stuck, it wont go slow in the ps or ps2

GT1 because of the tuned car challenge. I refuse to try with anything other then my prized 572 hp highly unstable 220 mph RT10!

If you didn't like that, then you probably would have murdered Rockstar after playing GTA 1.

Toronado
Driver for the PC or PSX (the PSX version is worse though). It's all easy as pie (at least compared to the 2nd one) until you get to the last mission. Then every single AI driver in the game, it seems, has just turned into a sadistic murderer with no self preservation.

I flew through that game but had to cheat on that last mission because it was so damn hard :ouch:

The President's Run, it was called.. Quite funny to hear "Nice drivin', son!" every 10 seconds :sly:

The King of Fighter 2000-2001 on PlayStation 2.

The move doesn't respond well when you play that game unlike the original version.
