What do you use for Spyware?

I figured I would do this since I haven't seen one done yet or I just missed it.

So what do you use? :)

I use Adaware(SE not '07 beta) and Spybot. They're kinda old but still seem to work pretty good.

Spybot usually catches everything, usually there just tracking cookies which i then put in FF's cookie black list.
Ad-Aware usually has nothing left to catch after that

I run Ad-Aware, Spybot and AVG Anti-spyware.

I run them in that order, and each one usually pics up something, but it's only ever tracking cookies. And Spybot and AVG only get one or two.

I think if I ran AVG first, the other two would pick up nothing... :indiff:

Same for me. I usually run Spybot first then Adaware. Adaware almost always finds nothing after Spybot has ran.

FF cookie black list?

Tools -> Options -> Privacy

Then click on the exceptions button to prevent cookies from sites with tracking cookies

It's essentially a black list :P

Nothing. All I used to get with those programs were low threat cookies from legit sites. The best anti-spyware is learning how to avoid it yourself.

So you think you'll be immune to ever getting some sort of malware because you don't go anywhere that may put you at risk? Well, have fun reinstalling XP whenever you do get something.

I won't say I'm immune, but I'm confident enough that I don't think I need one. I just installed Spybot for the first time in about a year. The only 'problem' it found was that Security Centre was disabled, which I disabled myself.

If a random exe pops up, cancel it. If you get an email from someone you don't know with a weird attachment, ignore it. Stay away from crap shareware programs from download.com. It's not rocket science...

I use download.com quite a bit. What's wrong with it?

Many of the programs you can get from them come loaded with spyware/adware. It even used to say before you download it "this program comes with a bundle of special advertising offers, which you can cancel anytime without any further obligation" or something like that.

I stopped using download.com abut a year ago because of that. However, the other day I was looking for a program and download.com was the only place I could find it from, and this time it lacked all theat crappy adware. So maybe they've fixed it?

Ironic!

The things I use download.com for are Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Do they come with spyware????!!!!

Spyware doctor, although I installed about 5 more to try and get rid of juan-search not long ago. Turns out Mcafee was giving false positives...

AVG, Adaware, Ccleaner, Spybot and Yahoo Anti-Spy.

Spybot won't catch everything that Yahoo can't. Adaware really don't catch everything nor both of them will delete it. Ccleaner is a good program and AVG protects it ^^

My AV is NOD32, which also features anti-spyware capabilities. I also use CCleaner and Google's Spyware Doctor.
