1.How do you test it out?
2.How do you tune it into a drifter?
3.What are some of the basic things you do?
4.Then what are some of the more advanced things you do?

The first thing I do is change the oil when I get a new car. Then I take it to the 400m drag and see how fast it is. That's all. 👍

Tune it as far as cash allows. Then test it for handling on Laguna Seca. For high speed at test course...

Thats usually it, if I like it, the car goes for a chapionship...

P.S. Hey this was my first post :)

Welcome to GTPlanet, willy! Enjoy your stay with us, and look around at all the different forums.

When I get a new car, I always change the oil, of course. Then I put T2 tires on it and run at least 10 laps with the otherwise stock car. I don't know what I need to do to it until I get a feel for it without modifications.

Well, I can't remember the last time I bought a car just to buy one.

I usually already have an intended purpose for it. Much like picking up a Z06 to run in the PD cup.

Or it's for the weekly series. In which case, the actions afterwards are dependent upon what needs to be done.

However, SOP is tires and an oil change.

Oh, Lordy! I don't really buy cars, anymore. But, I do take out all my bonus cars out for a test drive. I usually go to the test courses to see how she handles. If it's a fun car, I might enter it in something. Once I do, I usually never use it again.

I always change the oil first, then I take it to run and settings and do some laps of the test course and Complex string.

I change the oil first, then take it on the 400m, 1000m, top speed Then it goes to midfield raceways lap testing then to the tuning shop and repeat the testing.

Doesn't changing the oil give you more extra hp after tuning your car?

OK for stock races like the PD Cup I only canged oil and bought tires, but otherwise I change oil after tuning my car...

Changing oil before tuning gives you HP gain straight away. If you get a R34 GTR Vspec II and change the oil before tuning and after tuning you get 1040hp, If you buy another GTR but this time change the oil after tuning you still will get 1040hp. Makes NO difference.

Changing the oil before driving the car gives you approximately 5% gain on your base horsepower number, whether you've tuned it first or not.

oil change right away, then i always take the car out on midfield and put a couple of laps in with the stock version to assess what needs to be worked on (although i always upgrade the brakes and get the balance controller in all my cars, except for the stock only races, good brakes are essential for good lap times).

Oil change, tuning, jump right into the race I was gonna do. I don't test my cars, usually.

I run it around Complex String until I put some wear into the handling. Then, I change the oil. Then I take it out to a RACE and run it again - and again...

Like most, when I buy a new car, I cange the oil, and then save the game, after I save the game, I try out every part that you can tune it with (especially for the engine) after I get the part I try out the car with the upgrade on the test track for accelaration and top speed, and complex string and Laguna Seca for handling. Since I saved the game before I do any of the upgrades, if the upgrade was a waste, load the game back and your car will not have the upgrade, you'll still have the money.

When I buy a new car I change the oil, buy some sim tires and drift it several times on Apricot with 0 tcs and asm and save the best replay. Then I decide if I should leave it as a stock drifter or a modded drifter.

change oil , turn off asm tcs , and run around for awhile in the arcade mode, if i like it, i'll race it, if i don't i leave it alone kekeke

Never thought about changing the oil directly after buy a car, I might try that one day. Normally, i'll take a new stock bought car to the complex string to test the handling and speed, if its good stock, then it gets tuned with any left over cash, then do the 1000m test and top speed test, and if they look good, its off to the championship.

I almost never buy a car (Ok, Speed 6, Elise and other cars like that to enter the cups they have to be used for), but if I win a car, I always want to see the top speed of the car, so I enter the Test Course to check that. I also check the acceleration at Test Course.
After that, I go to Midfield and drive 3 to 5 laps and if he's fast enough to use in some cups, I use it.

Almost every car in my garage is stock. I only tuned a Elise and a Yaris/Vitz because I couldn't catch up on my opponents. I change tires in T1's if I use a car in a 'tire wear cup/race'. I was able to win the Rome enurance in a stock Spoon Civic with T1's. Still one of my most beautiful races :')

When I buy an automobile, I usually (1. Change oil. (2. By Brakes, T8s, and a Racing Suspention. From there, I tune/detune the vehicle for events. But under normal circumstances I end up detuning for the PD Cup.

1.How do you test it out: Midfield, 2 laps usually to enjoy it.
2.How do you tune it into a drifter: umm..no..i dont
3.What are some of the basic things you do: Drive it in a amature race to see how it compares to other cars
4.Then what are some of the more advanced things you do: Take it on Complex string for a lap or 2 :sly:

1) I have a beer to celebrate my new acquisition
2) I make an oil change
3) I do some light tuning:
weight reduction 1, 2, and3
racing muffler
ROM change
sport suspension
T2 tires
4) I do a few laps at Midfield and at Laguna Seca.

I either buy a car I like the look of or for a specific series. I give it some T2 tires Stage 1 lightweight, racing shocks and brakes, and a stage 1 turbo or na and thats about it.

I also do an oil change first, take it to 400meter to see how fast it can accelerate. Right after this I take the car to Laguna Seca to see if its going to be a drifter or a racer.

1. Go for a run at the test course
2. Turn off the traction control? LOL.
3. Basic... Get the most HP out of my car. So going for max tuning.
4. Adjust the gears, camber, springs etc.

For all cars : virgin oil change + propper tires

For cars with less power : work on the engine

What I do after that depends on what I will use the car for. I also usually take it around Midfield to put the gears right and see how it handles.
