Never had a nick for playing C64 back in the days, so the cousin of my best friend named me like that out of the blue while playing Summer Games. There's no connection between me and that name at all, just thought it was retardedly funny and rather unique, so I kept it.

Meh. Me and Blake were messing around with GTA 2 I think, and starting making our own storylines for everything, so we decided to come up with names for ourselves (this was when we were a lot younger). I came up with Jimmy, he came up with Eddie (randomnly), and we couldn't figure out a last name, so I said as a joke: "How about N/A?". Blake goes: "Hey, that's actually alright!" So we both spelt it out into a word.

It's stuck ever since.

I used "somebody" back in the old Doom/Quake online days - it used to look funny when "somebody kills XXXX" would appear on the screen. It kinda stuck from there.

Vell, my old username, which i also used for my email addresses, was the initial o my first name next to my last name, and i used to ave an avatar and a motto that the penguins will kill us all, so i thought, why not phat_penguin? But an admin misspelt penguin, so i stuck with pengiun.

On the original topic, 'Duke' is my real nickname. When I signed up at my first forum (about Neons; I had two at the time), I managed to get Duke. But at every other forum, it was always taken, so I just gave up and started using neon_duke everywhere. That's how I initially signed up here, and spent my first 3 years or so. Then, when I signed on as a Premium Member, I saw that Duke was surprisingly available, so I dropped the first part and added the capital.

Everywhere else, even on my e-mail, "ookami" is my moniker. For those who don't speak japanese, it means wolf. Why "wolf"? Well, being a "military brat", one doesn't tend to stay in one place very long. Having a hard time at making and KEEPING friends (due to contact problems), I found that my last move would be the last and hardest one. The entire time everyone I knew had internet and I didn't. Until one day my parents (in what I will forever consider a very much unexpected and confusing action) got a computer and internet. Needing a moniker befitting myself, I figured an animal would be cool but what KIND of animal? I thought and wolf came to mind but I knew that everyone and there mother used "wolf" or "dragon" something as there name. So "okami" was born--sorta. I didn't want everyone mispronouncing "ookami" as a long "o" sound as the sound in "few" so I used only one "o". Then I found that this was a common spelling of "landlady" in romaji (the English equivalent of Japanese). So I used "Ookami" in other forums, explaining it was more llike "Oak" for the first syllable. Well, after three years I got bored of it, so when I came to this forum, I took the color red, my now favorite creature--wolf, and added what I want to be in about year--a racer.

I used to want to be a pilot for the Air Force, but at the age of 16 an very unexpected heart-problem has all but eliminated that possibility. They are VERY selective of their pilots, unfortunately for me. Next best thing I figure is being a race car driver. lol

I thought I answered this to! It must have been in another thread, but this about the time I posting like crazy... hmmm strange.

Mine goes back to high school days. My best friend and I were into Bond 007 movies, and we gave ourselves the agent number of 069. Obvisous high school reasoning. He took Wonder as his code name, and I took Magic. When I signed up for aol, it became my screen name, and I have had ever since.

It works on other levels: I am from Orlando, the city of Disney Magic, and The Magic b-ball team. I also in a DCI corps out of Orlando, called Magic of Orlando. Lots of tie ins, to many to even think about ever getting rid of it.

I've used mine for ages, thge first site I registered with I used this name, it was when I bought my first car which was a 1.9 306 diesel and it was sloooooooow and I used it as a kind of joke since I wasn't able to go fast. Since then many have presumed it has something to do with the game Live for speed but that didn't come for a few years after mine . I don't use it when playing online anymore so I might use a different name in forums soon as well because it' s got nothing to do with my car anymore (although what I drive now is still crap).
