Also playing Ghost of Yōtei - Not too far in, really, but I made it passed the intro scenes and explored a little bit and it's just gorgeous. I think I can spend a lot of time just enjoying the scenery and using photo-mode alone.

I'm a big fan of Tsushima and so far Yōtei feels similar (which is a good thing) in terms of combat, exploration and such, so I am thrilled to see how the story plays out.

Now with more leaves!

I’ve been playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and it’s easily one of my favorite games of the year. Any true Indy fan shouldn’t miss it. It feels like one of the best Indiana Jones movies I’ve ever played.

The Valve Autumn sales brought Two Point Campus really cheap (just the base game), and also the Unfinished Business expansion of RoboCop: Rogue City.

Mars First Logistics is great, I found there was a bathtub curve to my tolerance for it - at first I was wowed by how simple the building system is, then I got frustrated by how often I was fiddling with stuff, getting flipped over, etc. and then I just tried harder with the building of things and have since realised that if the game is hard, it's most likely because your rover is bad and you should try something else instead of just tweaking the basic blueprints the game gives you.

Yesterday I remembered reading about Mars rovers and their suspension system - roller bogie suspension - and decided to try making one for myself, so I did and it's amazing. I have yet to try a spring-based suspension solution but that's on my list, I want to try an inboard pushrod design for compactness and weight distribution.

Playing Silent Hill F and so far what a game. Definitely enjoying the japanese orientation of the game. That being said the game is not for everyone. Its really gore even for a silent hill and quite shocking too at some points. Not really scary so to say.

Off course on the side you have the usual suspect, Balatro, GT7 and FM which I play inbetween.

I've been playing BF2042 to get warmed up for BF6. I still hate the specialists but the rest of the game is not that bad. I was only level 15 when I reinstalled it, and now I'm at level 62. The weekly game modes have been fun.

Still on Mars First Logistics, I just spent three hours couriering an ice cream about 30km. I built a rover with grappling hooks to place signal towers up high in the mountainous terrain (since they require line of sight) between the origin and destination then had a cunning plan to build the longest monorail I've built so far then to "escape" the train as it passed by my "stop". I love that the game even lets you do things like that. I sense the end is near though because I'm running out of unlocks. Annoyingly it looks like torsion springs will be one of the very last things I unlock.

I replayed RoboCop: Rogue City (PC) in preparation for the expansion Unfinished Business that I bought during the past Steam sale. I finished in 11.6 hrs, but it didn't feel short. I made choices that bettered the outcomes for all the NPCs I cared for, and the upgrade route I picked made it easier to deal with the last stages and boss. In my book, one of the best games I've played/replayed with so much love and attention to the source material.

And just started Unfinished Business, which oddly enough acts as a separate app from the main game, with its own settings, and your progress is reset (although you do start with some early buffs because it's tougher even in normal difficulty).

Played some Ghost of Yotei, absolutely beautiful scenery in this game. I love exploring and this has a much bigger map than Ghost of Tsushima.

It weirdly reminds me of RDR2 in many ways.
Haven’t played it yet but probably will later. In what ways does it remind you of RDR2?

The recent addition of New Game+ to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle got me back into that game. I completed the Order of Giants DLC a few weeks back and was itching to play the entire game again, so perfect timing. I'd like to spend time finding all the collectables/secrets this time around.

I think I am nearing the end of the main story of Ghost of Yotei. What a fantastic game it has been.

The news about the new GT7 update coming in December got me back into the game big time so played a lot of it but it has been all Battlefield 6 since release day.

Really does feel like a return to the BF3/4 glory days so far. A few bigger maps is probably the only gripe I have with the game.

I have stayed up far too late playing every night. Hadn't done that for a game in a good few years I think. Not the smartest idea when you have kids to look after the next morning 😅

Well, out of curiosity, I downloaded the Final Fantasy XVI demo for my Xbox Series X, and the visuals, music and gameplay did engage me, as well as what I could glimpse from the story, which has some Game of Thrones inspiration (and you are kind of Jon Snow). It's been ages since I've played a Final Fantasy game proper, as the last I ever finished was VII in the original PS1!

So, I'll wait for a sale and jump on it, as the data from the finished demo carries over. It's also a Play Everywhere game, so I can also play on my PC.

I had a ton of fun playing FF16, that being said, the ending wasnt up to my taste, hopefully you'll like it.

Just finished Mars First Logistics last night but in the post-game "what am I supposed to play now?" feeling I decided to finally figure out how the relays, sensors and logic gates work (I got into engineering because of digital logic and it's safe to say none of it works quite like how I would expect) and basically now I'm trying to make a bipedal robot.

Edit: couldn't make the robot work because the logic devices in the game can't be bent to do what I want (which was to make an S-R flip flop), couldn't make the aircraft I wanted to make because gimbals are hard to make and the ones in the game already aren't what I understand gimbals to be, I tried a couple of other things and basically the game isn't complex enough to do them so I gave up.

Now playing Promise Mascot Agency, it's pretty dumb but fun so far.

Because I finally caved in and got a digital PS5, I played and finished My First Gran Turismo (not my first GT) and got 18 bonus cars for GT7 which was bundled. I've also been playing Astro's Playroom, and that's a cool minigame/demo of all the things the PS controller can do. Funny, I thought motion controllers were passé but nobody told them.

And about the backlog... ah, it's starting to bubble, again.

Another impulse purchase. Ghost Of Yotei. Loved Ghost of Tsushima, it's one of the few game I've ever bothered to get the Platinum trophy for. For whatever reason though, I didn't pay much attention to GoY prior to release. Knew next to nothing about it other than the playable character being female, having a wolf companion and it being set a few hundred years after GoT.

Was only able to play the opening hour of it last night but it got me completely sold on it within the first 30 seconds of the opening cutscene. It reminded me too of everything I loved about GoT. Stunning landscapes, great story telling and voice acting and it the combat feels as good as ever. Definitely want to try and end up with the platinum for this one as well.

I completed Yotei the other night (the main story at least) after about 50 hours. Can easily take longer to complete the game but I wanted to finish it up then go back in for completion later on if I want to.

I love Tsushima but Yotei is all around better and in my opinion a bit lighter on the mood with some humor sprinkled in so it's not completely dark and depressing the whole time. I absolutely love the characters in Yotei and how the story plays out with them.

Enjoy, it's a great experience.

About to fire up Arc Raiders for the first time since there's a free playtest this weekend. I'm normally not into 3rd person shooters but this one looks really good.

I'm loving Promise Mascot Agency, as with Paradise Killer (same dev) I thought I knew what I was getting into but it honestly defies description. Also when I first broke ¥1m in the bank I thought "but I only need 12 million, how is this game so short?", then I saw the sum I actually need, it's ¥12 billion. So never mind.

The Ion Fury dlc Aftershock released and I am enjoying it a lot. The level design of this game is just top notch. And the secrets are insane.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the DLC finally release on consoles. I bought it right away but may need to replay the original game for a refresher first since it's been something like 4-5 years since playing it. I've yet to play Phantom Fury.

Haven’t played it yet but probably will later. In what ways does it remind you of RDR2?
It’s the subtle gameplay details for me. Having a horse you can whistle for, a map that visually feels a lot like RDR2’s, bounty hunting, mellow background music while exploring the wild, herds of wild horses running free, gambling mini-games, and those spontaneous side events that pop up as you roam around.

The standoffs, while not exactly like RDR2’s quick-draw duels, give off a similar kind of tension and cinematic vibe.
