About to fire up Arc Raiders for the first time since there's a free playtest this weekend. I'm normally not into 3rd person shooters but this one looks really good.
How is your first impression? This one looks really interesting.

It left a good enough impression for me to buy it, it was only around $60 cad on steam so it seemed like a good deal. The gun audio was something that really stood out to me, they sound so crisp. The ai is also pretty interesting in how they behave.

There's tons of good players already, I got **** on A LOT.

I moved on a tad. Now Tempest 4K on Switch and Atari 50 on both PS5 and Switch. I'm still playing Gran Turismo.
I started Panzer Dragoon Saga on my Saturn and need to finish it considering it cost me $1,300.

After roughly 340 hours I finished my second playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 that I started at the beginning of this year (the first time was in 2019).

What can I say…I‘ve been playing video games for 20 years now and RDR 2 is easily the best and most immersive game I have ever played. Rockstar‘s attention to detail is unlike anything else I‘ve ever seen before or since. Absolute masterpiece.

I really took my time for this playthrough to explore everything and do most of the side stuff (all legendary animals, side quests/hidden quests, easter eggs etc.) and it made me realize how much I missed on my first playthrough and how much content Rockstar put into the game.

Considering this jump in production value and quality from the already great GTA V to RDR2 I can‘t even imagine what GTA VI is going to be like.

Speaking of which, I‘ll probably start a second playthrough of GTA V next.

I installed Astro Bot, the second game in my PS5 bundle, and played up to the first boss. Charming game so far, both retro and modern, but GOTY? I have to make more progress to make a final opinion.

Then again, it's the only game I'll probably play from that list of nominees (2 "souls" games, 2 time sink JRPGs and 1 card game, pass).

Red Dead Redemption 2
I swore RDR2 was overhyped, bloated rubbish that would be just as awful to play as any other Rockstar game, then I played it. Easily the pinnacle of its genre, the most impressive game I've ever seen and a monumental achievement. Thinking back I still can hardly believe the attention to detail and depth.

Speaking of games I wish I could play for the first time again, Promise Mascot Agency is almost finished and I've really enjoyed it, it's so odd and yet entirely coherent, consistently fun (and good) and so well written. I'll miss it when it's finished.

Definitely! My immediate thought when I played it for the first time was „this feels like a completely new generation of video game!“
