Same here, I expect a lot of people here would agree with that to be fair. The physics lead to some really fun moments that I don't recall having in GTA V. The fact that police patrol the city, too, something weirdly absent from V.

I finished the story last night, I forgot I was going to make the opposite choice with Dimitri compared to my first playthrough at launch but I just hate him so much I guess I got blinkered into making the same decision again. I was going to 100% it but I lost 25 pigeons to a crash just now (it crashes a lot on Deck, quite often within a minute of waking it up) and can't be bothered, so I've moved on to The Lost and Damned for the first time instead.
Strange, Ive got nearly 60 hours on Steam Deck and never had one crash.

Both expansions are great, TBOGT in particular is great and adds a lot of great weapons, vehicles and missions, but by far the best aspect of both the DLC's is the introduction of checkpoints in missions. I had some serious rage from having to replay whole missions on GTA4 after dying the most stupid unavoidable death lol

Dropped Saros for good.

Currently playing:

  • James Bond. 10 hours in, great so far.
  • Finished FH6 and doing end game stuff. Good, but not as good as 5. 8/10
  • Destiny 2. The end of service announcement has made me sad and nostalgic. I'm back. Catching up on all the suff I missed.
  • Mixtape. Not for me. Put it to the side for now. Might never return.
  • Mina the Hollower. Bought but not played yet. Looking forward to it.

Ridge Racer 2 on PS5 pro. I'm stuck on the one on one races at the end of the Pro tour. I can beat Hijack and Wild Gang on normal but I'm coming up short on the reverse courses. As for Angel and Devil, I can't beat them on the normal track yet. I'm having a ball though. This PSP game looks and plays better than the arcade games and is just the kind of arcade racer fun that I need which is very lacking in modern arcade racers.

Just finished TBOGT, seemed like a prototype for some GTA V gameplay and features, which isn't to say it wasn't fun but it was pretty unexpectedly hectic. Skipped a lot of cutscenes due to the deeply unlikeable characters though. I know that's the point, doesn't mean I have to like listening to them!

Installing Mass Effect now, knowing me though I'll sit down to play something tomorrow and choose something else entirely. I kinda want to play Just Cause 3 too.

Edit: I started Mass Effect, the curse is broken

So I finished inKONBINI tonight, and what a sweet surprise this Game Pass discovery was. It's short and you can finish it in about 6-7 hours, but the time spent there is worth it. Me thinks you would love it @Populuxe

Star Wars Outlaws - main quest line complete. Very good game, pity it didn’t sell enough to get a sequel.

Now working my way through 007.
I like the game as it is, but IMO, if they had made it a young Han Solo game they would have made billions.

Solo the film begs to differ, but maybe it would've done better in video game form.

I'm not going to say I love it, but I'm enjoying Mass Effect about as much as I thought I would (which is probably around 8/10). It's oddly nostalgic, considering I've never played it before, but nothing about it has really wowed me. I realise I'm like 20 years late to the party though, I imagine it was amazing in its day.

Today was let's check components and thermal paste status (Eeeek!!!), and general cleanup, and let me tell you the dust bunnies inside a tower cooling fan are NASTY.

I also updated drivers/OS and all seems OK.

PS5 Pro:

  • LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
  • RIDE 6
PC:

  • Forza Horizon 6
  • Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era
  • Doom: The Dark Ages
Nintendo Switch 2:

  • Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn
  • GRID Legends Deluxe
I'm enjoying in all of them. Playing as I can...

What are your thoughts on Lego Batman, Ride 6 and Tales of Arise? I'm interested in all three.

LEGO Batman is a real thing!
Nice graphics, classic Batman soundtrack and great combat, like from Arkham triology.

RIDE 6 is GT of bikes, deep career, many licences, monthly challenges, buy new or old...and is real challenge on Pro settings.

Tales of Arise are typical Tales game, with fancy graphics and nice combat system - that one I played least till now, so I can't tell too much of story.

But I reccomend you all three, you can't miss with this trio.

Thanks 👍
All three are franchises i enjoy playing. I just need to find a way to slow down time so I can fit them in to my schedule...

I've currently gone all the way back to Ride 2 to try to get the last of the "stars" bonuses unlocked using the daily challenges as the servers are still online after all these years (looking at you EA!) before I jump ahead.

Plus I'm still working on collecting the remaining Summit vehicles in The Crew 2.

I've been trying to get into FH6 but having 30 FOMO vehicles in the first 4 weeks has really put me off!

Decided to do the Star Wars Outwars DLC before moving on to something else. Good fun, especially the 2nd one with Hondo and more space battles. A bit annoying that there were originally 6 planned, but only 2 got finished/released because of the lower than expected sales.

Need a bit of a break from 3rd person sneaky action games, so probably will leave the rest of 007 for now and do some platfroming instead. I still have Astro Bot, Ratchet & Ckank & Stray in my backlog.

Mad Max, it can get a bit repetitive but overall brutal & bloody good fun with a massive open world & lots to do I'm having a blast.

Considering gamepass has ended throughout the family now & I have no intention of renewing (might get a year of essential at some point for online sim racing) I've lost my lazy laying down on the sofa game Starfield, so I've piggy backed off my son's account considering he now spends most of his time on his PC & downloaded Mad Max, Cyberpunk, Robocop & Far Cry Primal.

So when I'm not on the rig racing & in the horizontal position I'm making my way through & losing myself in this selection of games.

I've just gotten started with Mass Effect 2, it's a considerable step up from Mass Effect in many ways, although considering I've only played a couple of hours so far the fan service I've encountered so far has been... Shoehorned, let's say.

Like how the Normandy gets blown up in the opening cutscene and Shepard dies, then with basically no tension Shepard's alive again and she's got a mildly reworked replica of her old ship which is also called the Normandy, and Joker's back, you find Garrus on the first station you dock at (and then he gets apparently killed but is on his feet again as soon as you get back to the Normandy, albeit with half his face missing), the wreck of the old Normandy is one system - a very short flight - over and you can find Pressley's diary in the wreck that quickly explains how he went from space racist to space woke in only three entries... All in the first couple of hours. They could have paced this stuff to make it more impactful but instead opted to get it out of the way right at the start!

Still, that's only a relatively minor complaint. I really appreciate the simplified Inventory management and skills menus. It's now a good shooter with light RPG elements, Mass Effect was a little too skewed the other way and I didn't really feel like it worked towards the end where it was all combat and little conversation. I'm still not sure that it makes sense for my squadmates to unlock special ammo types as they improve their biotics abilities and stuff but oh well, at the end of the day it's irrelevant anyway because it's not like you won't be able to win fights because you spent their skill points badly.

I'd love to build a time-machine and go back to play all three OG Mass Effect games again for the first time. Felt like such an epic time in gaming and they still hold up in so many ways.

I don't disagree that the fan-service is a bit much but perhaps it was necessary stuff. They needed to update the ship but not change it completely so we got the SR-2. "Killing" off Shephard and bringing him/her back was a way to let you rebuild the character (and introduce Cerberus) whether you imported your character or not. Garrus was/is a fan favorite character so it made sense to bring him in early, though if I recall, you had the choice to head to another area before Omega so Garrus doesn't need to be the first recruit. And to be fair at least the Normandy Crash Site was optional DLC originally and did not need to be completed right away or at all. Personally I always saved that mission for later and it always gets me emotional, cheesy fan service or not.

I will say buckle up for fan service because ME2 and 3 are FULL of it.
