Not really. Considering Vettel's name is Sebastian. And what grinds my gears? Everyone claiming Vettel "lucks his way to winning".

On the flip side, you could just say that everyone else keeps 🤬 it up.

Yep, that's absolutely right, everybody else does keep screwing up. And that's why he lucks out.

It's like André and Andreas, it's the same name, in a different language. And I tell you, there was a Sebastián in my class, and he was hell of a lucky mother:censored:.

I still wouldn't call it luck on his part. His consistency has been amazing. Part of being a champion is being there to pick up the pieces when the others fail. He's made opportunities for himself, but you can't fault him for taking opportunities either.

But there was Sebastien Bourdais. He did well in the declining Champ Car series, but never really delivered what he was capable of in F1. That nearly ended his single seater career.

Keke Rosberg won a championship (I can't remember which season, 1982 I think) after only winning one race. I think Mike Hawthorn won his world championship winning only one race. Jacky Ickx won his World Championship without finishing the season (that's not being flippant, he died during the season, may he rest in peace).

Consistency is absolute key, and his performances have been a perfect example of how to win a World Championship. No-one can take that away from him, and if he wins this year, he is more than deserving of it. But he has won races that he had no chance of ever winning, and his lack of racecraft (ie, the ability to move through the field) has shown that he is best as a hot lapper, not as a racer.

As much as he is disliked, Lewis Hamilton is the ultimate racer, a modern day Gilles Villeneuve; someone who will not give up, whatever it costs.

Now you've done it. All the barely-teens are gonna gang up on you now. You should know that telling a teen what's what is a struggle not worth the hassle. They think they know all.

Hey, I'm a teen. I agree completely with what Mitch said. I used to be one of those teens who complains about everything. But I realized how pathetic it is. Now I simply laugh at people who are like old me.

Jacky Ickx is very much alive. You're referring to Jochen Rindt, who died in practice for the 1970 Italian Grand Prix.

He's also my current avatar.

Would you, by any chance, be referring to this kind of thing? (see below)

The fact its so damn hot in England right now Grinds my Gears.

It's hot in England for all of 3 days each year and you have the balls to complain about it!!!

Try living in a place where 40 is an average day, then see how much you can legitimately complain about it being too hot.

I've grown on the heat, you know, in school we have to wear 3 layers. Through Summer and as my teacher is usually a stubborn old 🤬, we aren't allowed to open the windows.

Customers, I just had a women call in today to ask me why she couldn't print a Youtube video.. Yes.. She wanted the still images from it, and decided to try and print it. I explained to her that you could not print a video from Youtube, and then suggested she should make an account on Youtube and message the person with the video and ask where they had gotten the images from.

So dumb.

I had another one call and ask about why her Yahoo games site wasn't working. How the heck would I know that? Call Yahoo please, I have no connections to their site, nor do I ever want to.

Not really. More like the sort of person who just sits next to you and sighs. A LOT. Then thinks shorty is an insult. :odd: Also when people complain about losing a digital device, and how horrible it is to have to use the other one they have. Why do they complain if they have two!!

Anyway, people that are narrow minded grind my gears (yes, me included). The other day I was talking to someone about what is a sport and what isn't. Like field hockey, which isn't. :p Then they said motorsport isn't, because all they do is turn a wheel and push pedals. Then I told them that it's harder than that. And it uses a hell of a lot of energy to do all of that. Then this kid added that he's never done it, so it's not true. How dumb can he be, that's like saying Barack Obama isn't real because we've never touched his face!!! "Oh hello Mr President, can I touch your face, otherwise you're not real."

Your being narrow minded by claiming Field hockey isn't a sport, heck it's Olympic!

So there's an aisle, one side is all "hardware"; light bulbs, tools, tape, super glue, TAPE, paint rollers, trays and brushes... then the other side is all "halloween" products... Man asks where the masking tape is. I point him to this aisle, and he completely passes the whole section of tape (duct, masking, clear, paint, electrical), walks down the entire aisle, realizes he couldn't find it and starts looking down the halloween side... *facepalm*

The guy who did this...

I said including me. I included myself in my rage against narrow minds. :sly: That was the point of me saying that, to show an example of narrow mind, being me.

Yep, sorry. Too much alcohol last night meant I couldn't think straight. Is was Jochen Rindt. I even saw Jochen Rindt on the list, and I still couldn't type it properly...

You know, Houston hit 108F the other day. You think you've got problems?

Pah, that's nothing! I went to Egypt last year, 108F was the night time temperature. It went up 130 in the afternoon (Friday and Saturday was 55C).

He is one of my all time heroes. His story is very sad.

You're used to it though. I recently spent six months in Toronto. I went from cold and rainy scotland to a summer of temperatures in the high 30's (celcius) with 100% humidity at a lot of times. It was really hard for me to cope.

The fact that the people who live next door were blasting fireworks until 2AM last night.

You complain a lot don't you? :p. But no, today I've went without complaining and my day has went unusually well. I like it.

I just can't stand disrespectful people, I'd been up for 24 hours, got home from a stressful flight back from Ibiza. The one thing I needed most was some sleep, but..

A few hours ago, we lost power for the seventh time this summer. That's got to be a record!

I hate it so much when people send me game invites while in playing another game (Example: I'm playing GT5 and I get a Black Ops invite) and even more when I keep on getting the same request over and over again.

Exactly! And I don't even have black ops but the idiot keeps sending them!

The fact that I'm working night shift (midnight - 9am) after having merely 29 hours off. I had to work day shift before, 9am - 7pm. For 18 months. Adapting my pattern? Uhm no...not enough time.

Verizon. Apparently, when you set the DVR to "delete the old recordings to make room for the new". It thinks you meant "just don't bother recording new stuff, or giving me a warning of any kind if there's no room". I was planning to watch the new Top Gear just now, and I'm glad I checked because it'll at least catch the 3AM run.

Try working at an underground mine....16 hour days where you have to be up at 4am and don't get back to the mine camp till about 7pm....then you get you're shift changeover day where you get back from day shift, sleep then go into night shift that afternoon. Do that for 26 odd years like my father has (I've also been a miner (diamond drill offsider, not what you think...)) and you'll know what hard work and long shifts is all about.
