So, we've all heard that GT5 has some terrible engine sounds and its partly true. Some cars sound like toolboxs being thrown by angry gorillas.

BUT.... There are some fantastic engine notes hidden in this game.

When I heard the 70' Nissan Skyline HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) fully tuned with titanium exhaust, I just about had a heartattack. IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!:O:D:p;)

I just want to know: What other cars have you come across that make your ears happy?

Any muscle car with any type of exhaust. Also the Mitsubishi Starion rally car has a pretty cool burble to it, but only in 3rd person view.

NASCARs
65 Shelby GT350R (racing exhausts)
71 Mustang Mach 1 (racing exhaust)
69 Camaro Z28 (racing exhaust
Ford Mark IV
Ford GT40

Don't forget about the Mercury Cougar with racing exhaust.

Hey, this thread isn't to rant about the bad sounding cars. It's to recognize the good sounding ones.👍

Use some exhausts. Before fitting a semi-racing exhaust, my 406 V6 sounded like my pc. Now it sounds like a V6.

In my opinion all the exhaust sounds in the game sound way too synthetic. And the overlap of the sounds their self are wayyy to noticeable. Ever since the day i got the game i've strayed away from putting exhausts on cars just so i don't ruin the sound..

Take the RM ZR1 for example. Who at PD heard that and said "Yup, that sounds about right"? Honestly, i understand that it's very difficult to get the sounds for a lot of the cars. And it takes a lot of dyno time and sound recording to get them right. But they should've at least took the time to go through and match the right sound to the right car.

Their is also a lack of backfires,wastegate/bov noise aswell. They spent absolutely 0 time on that.

All in all i'd give the sounds a 6/10

I'd second the Cizeta engine note. One of the very, very few cars that sounded worth a crap in GT4; and even though it sounds like it uses the same recording (which isn't even a problem) it really benefits from GT5's better channel separation.

the sound of the gtr r35 is awesome but it doesnt fit for this car
