Is there some things you think that GT5 should have had? Like how many cars, track and events for example.

I think that GT5 should be larger then GT3, but smaller then GT4, like say that it should have 300 or 400 cars. Half of them would be Standard Cars, and Half of them would be Premium Cars, so we would have half of the types of cars in GT5.

GT5 should also have no duplicates for Skylines and Lancer's. Just one model made for one generation. Just look at Forza Motorsport's section of cars. they don't have any duplicates of the same car.

GT5 should also have all the tracks from GT4, such as New York, Seattle and El Captain for example. I don't how they were able to get all 70 tracks in GT5 in 2 years, but to me it flea like it took 2 years for Nürburgring to be made for GT5, due to how large that track is.

GT5 should even have as much events as GT4 had, but with events for Ferrari's F1 cars and such.

I also think that if PD didn't make Gran Turismo HD and GT5: Prologue, they would have full attention to GT5, and it would have taken PD 3 - 4 years of development for GT5, meaning that it would be release in 2008 - 2009 like most PS3/Xbox 360 games.

I don't think you can call this a hate thread cuz I'm really sharing my thought's on how GT5 should have looked like, or how long PD should have worked on.

"GT5 should also have no duplicates for Skylines and Lancer's"

Ugh, why? I like GT BECAUSE it has so many specific models like that.

GTHD and GT5P didn't take resources away from GT5, they were stepping stones towards the final goal.

GT5 has way too many skylines, and there is a Standard 1999 Skyline and a Premium 2002 Skyline in which they both are the same car. That was the one thing I didn't like. Plus, 60% of GT5's 1000 cars are Japanese.

It should have had a much more in depth offline game and it should have had lots more tracks, namely all of the older original ones they removed.

But threads like this have been done many a time.

Fewer unheard of economy cars that nobody really cares about. I'm not talking about the sporty ones, I'm talking about the straight up econo-boxes that two people on the planet would be disappointed to see go.

More premium cars.... specifically more American premium cars. Also, a LOT of standard cars can be quickly and easily converted to premium since they already have a premium counterpart (RX-7s, GT-Rs, MX-5/Miata/Eunos, etc).

More American road courses. It seems criminal to not have tracks like Road Atlanta and Barber.

More premium cars, car upgrades and customization, more community features; converting replays to files that can be uploaded to youtube, creating and sharing paint jobs. A bigger single player career mode. All of these things would go a long way to making GT5 more fun to play.

There was no need for 1000 cars they should have had some 100 more premiums and only really good standard cars which they were not able to make into premiums.

....and how about a real paint system? I like the idea of "discovering" colors, but it's irritating to know that once I use a color once, I can't use it again (assuming I only have one chip).

A race/series creator for arcade mode. I'd like to be able to specify what cars, or types of cars, or PP ranges I want to go up against.

It's irritating to enter an arcade race in my stock FC RX-7 and find myself against NSXs, 350Zs, FD RX-7s, and other clearly faster cars.

At least throw in the Kia Ce'D reasonably priced car so we can all get our names on the top gear test track score board lol.

Some Australian tracks would be nice, namely Bathutst, Phillip Island and Albert Park

The more cars the merrier. Why would you want them to take out cars? Keep shoving more of them in, not taking them out (assuming there's space).

All I'd love to see is more visual customisation (More aero-kits, wheel profiles etc), an in-depth livery editor, and for Australia to be more heavily represented in this game.

Other then that, it's perfect to me.

I love the standards in this game, it would have sucked without them.

It's a quality over quantity issue for a lot of people. Some of us just don't like the inconsistent quality and how ugly the standards look. It makes them not very fun to drive.

👍

It did suck when there was no cockpit view though..

And I guess it sucks for photomode guys/girls cause you can't take them to Photo travel.

Amar212 And The Vanishing Boy summed it up well in the other thread what GT5 needs or misses.

And frankly I don't get why they can't be in photomode when the game shows us that they can be. If you leave and restart the game from the initial menu selection screen if you had a standard car it will show it in a photomode location like the rockface are in japan.

My vote goes on to the cars/tracks that were in GT4 and GTPSP that got left out.

There are some many of these threads were people complain about thing in GT5 or wish for things that aren't in the game. We need some positivity, we should make a thread about things we like about GT5 that other game don't have.

I would love more choices with wheels eg.

Different sizes in diameter, width and wheel offsets available.

PLEASE !!!!

So just turn this forum into a giant circle jerk? That doesn't do anyone any good. If you're posting here, then that assumes you at least like GT5 on some level, and that's all that really needs to be said.

The true dedicated fans are the ones that want to see GT5 improve and make sure that GT6 is a very large improvement.

Let's not start with the whole "true fan" thing. You're right, though, we should offer criticism, but positively; i.e. constructively. I know it's hard when incensed about some seemingly moronic oversight... but yeah.

The other thread is pretty good in that respect.

Totally agree with you there, people just have to be realistic and level headed about what they want. All indications point to PD listening to us (GT5 fans everywhere) too, especially this forum specifically. Gives me a lot of faith in GT6.

Haha, I wouldn't go that far. Expectations, and all that. :p

All of the tracks from GT4/GTPSP, weather/night options on a higher proportion of tracks, premium DTM/FIA GT cars, A-Spec championships longer than 5-6 races, B-Spec events that don't have more laps than the A-Spec ones, more endurance races.

Hahaha, yeah at this point I should know better then to say things like that. I was one of the people that was SUPER hyped for GT5, and then felt pretty burned within a month of playing it. I'm still going to try to keep my expectations low for when PD finally starts releasing information about GT6. I'll be a lot more critical about features and promises for sure.

Squeaky wheels have the best chance to get the grease. I want PD to take seriously the complaints/concerns of the folks who spent their money to get the game. Not doing so means they will get folks like me and others migrating over to other games like . . . well you know. I would love it if I could rip down Spa in a Sesto Elemento or one of the other goodies found in other games.

I never said I don't want to see GT5 improve. I think PD knows what they did wrong and were to improve, and I'm sure they get spammed on twitter. I don't think creating a thread once in a while thanking PD for the free stuff they give their players, and how they try to improve the game would do any "harm". You'd be surprised to the amount of people make accounts just to talk garbage to the game or PD.

My top 5 to make GT5 a Definitive Reference game:

1- NEW CORRECT (for each types of engine) and RICHER engine and exhaust sounds with exhaust bangs which pop like a loud firecraker!

2- Some of the Old Classic Circuits back! Midfield, El Capitan, Paris Opera... and few more real tracks (Silverstone, Donnington, Paul Ricard, A1 austrian GP, Brazilian GP, Old Hockenheim GP, Rouan les essarts, etc...)

3- At least 40-50% of the best iconic standards transformed to premium: r5 turbo, 205 GTI and WRC, Alpine Renault, Peugeot 905 LM, Lambo Countach, RUF yellowbird etc...

4- Tweaked and better Shadows/smoke and Antialiasing/antiflickering effects

5- New 2008-12 + iconic models (Audis S and A classes!!!, ANY Porsches, Iconic Ferraris (308 GTB, 355 Challenge, 512 bb etc...), More new european and US models)

I'm pretty sure that if you do a search you'll find plenty of threads praising the game as well. But here's the thing, it's boring talking about the good things in a game, nothing constructive comes out of it and it is, in all truth, nothing but a big fanboy love-in. Talking about what GT5 doesn't have and doesn't do well is interesting because people have different ideas about what they want in the game and it's spawns a variety of views and opinions. The threads you're talking about go along the lines of:

OP: "I love GT5 it's amazing"
Comment 1: "yeah I love this game too"
Comment 2: "Me too, let's give PD some love"

So forth and so on.....

Boring.
