GT5 allows you to race against 7 other AI opponents of the same car make and on any track for any number laps. I have not found that on GT6! Anyone knows if that's to come????

I wondered why it wasn't an option in Arcade Mode.
Though at least the races in Arcade Mode give you a mix of cars of ballpark similar cars, and the ability to adjust it by levels - though that has seemed to work kind of dodgy for me so far.
However it did change the cars to lesser performing it was pitting me against when I downgraded tires.
But it's not as good as the slide rule was in GT4 Family Cups.

So I'm not only missing the 1-make race options form GT5. I'm still missing the Family Cups from GT4.

I wonder why they didn't take the best of all those options and include them all.
Maybe more will come in updates.

There are several one-make races. I think they start appearing in B class races.
I don't think that's what he meant. In GT5 under practice you could select one-make race and it would fill the grid with whatever model you were driving, so you could have a one-make race with any car in the game. I used this feature sometimes to get photos for my spec one-make racing threads and I'm disappointed it is gone. The only one-make races in GT6 so far are the ones where they choose a car for you so they are extremely limited compared to GT5.

Ah, ok. I don't think I ever did that in GT5. I didn't really spend much time in Arcade mode.

It wasn't in arcade mode, it was in practice where you could do time trials. It was actually some of the best racing to be had in GT5, I'd set it for a long race and de-tune my car a little to make it competitive then take my time working through the field.

I'm with you on this one. In fact, I really think that's the best part of GT5. It is the most 'realistic'. After all, how would anyone expect you to past 5 cars in 2 laps to win a race - without taking stupid chances that you will never do on a real track! I really hope they will have it as an update to GT6.

yeah that's what I did with custom tracks in gt5.

I also liked the custom track race. It was just a kluged group of cars, but usually I had something that could fit in with them somehow.

I miss the manufacturer races from GT4... Hell, I miss a lot from GT4. I've been playing since GT1, but IMHO, GT4 was the pinnacle.

I tried the so-called One-make race last night, found out something interesting - not good news. It was the BMW 1-series one-make. You can choose any of the 1-series cars. I chose the BMW diesel, 160 horses, figuring it should be a good competitive race. Then I found out I was racing the 135 concept and 135 cars, along with 5 other cars similar to mine. What a joke! They took all the fun out of the one-make races!
