What happens if we get no news at the E3?

-> I'm expecting that there will be no news on E3. KY will not even show up in E3. And K. Hirai will confirm that GT5 will be delayed indefinitely.

-> In conclusion to my theory that GT5 is the next vaporware that will go alongside Duke Nukem: Forever. I'm not saying that the end is near or whatsoever, but due to the past 5-6 years of no release dates and false promises...its time to move on.

So to answer the questions on post 1?
a) Sony won't even mention GT5 anymore, the word soon would become indefinite.
b) If *they ever* show us a trailer of GT5; it will be a bunch of recycled videos of the past just to show "its a new video"...lolz.

~> (But I will continue pursuing the VWL, to fill up my time.)

^ In the end, GTPlanet would end up as a first base news source for endless speculations and rants. I hope it won't end that way, but the harsh truth is that our path is heading towards in that direction.

For the first time, Sony has actually started promoting the game, as seen on the ads on the game manual for Heavy Rain and God of War III.

GT5 is the next first party title to hit after Modnation Racers... it's coming this year and we will definately get a lot of news at E3.

Duke Nukem Forever has nothing in common with GT5, the biggest difference is, DN was not relevant at the time the game was suppose to ship, also, DN was not a major IP of a hardware maker (Sony, MS, Nintendo).

GT5 will ship no matter what, so it's kind of pointless to expect the game to become vaporware.

Here's my train of thought.
Every GT release since GT3 has been considerably later than originally promised.
There is no reason to believe that GT5 will be any different.
What has also been true, is that each game has exceeded expectations even with the over-long wait.
When it gets here, we'll be overjoyed. We'll drive for 6 months, and think up a bunch of stuff that should be in GT6.

I wonder, seriously, how many long-time fans who bought GT5P on the release day who HAVE died while waiting for it to finally appear?

How do you think the fanbase would have reacted back in spring '08 if they were told it would be at least 2-1/2 MORE years before release? Even longer for the Japanese market.

Given that they previously announced a March Japan release, I would expect a worldwide release date announcement on or before the start of E3. To do anything less would make PD and Sony a gigantic laughingstock of Duke Nukem magnitude.

If PD continues to screw the pooch, though, I've got F1 2010 and TDU2 to look forward to. I don't do monster-slash, soldier-shoot, wizards 'n princess or ghetto-lowlife games, so thank God for those two, which I bet release on schedule. In the meantime, I'm back on Grid and Shift.

look, GT5 has to be released as some point seeing as it is Sony's flagship title now; we'll probably get something at E3 depending on a few factors: if the game is released this years we can expect to see something more substantial than last time; if it will release around october we'll probably see a lot more! In any way TGS will also reveal a lot IF GT5 is released this year.

All the clues tell us it will release this year; so at least try and keep up the faith. I know....5 years is way too long, but there's not much we can do. A rational person would simply make the best of it which is what we should do since our influence is so little, there is no use to panic.
