What has happened to the lexus concept car sound

I just bought a new Lexus last night to find the sound has been changed from the v8 to a hair dryer like sound

PD seems to mindlessly fiddle with different car sounds every update, some end up sounding better, while some end up sounding worse.

It does actually sound like a DTM car now..

PD changed it a few patches ago. And while I'm sure it will be argued until the end of time whether the current one is actually accurate (I think it's pretty close now; one of the few where PD's improvements are actually improvements), in no way should it have ever sounded like it used to.
