Put a scratch in the bumper :/

Long day cleaning my uni house and getting stressed out sorting stuff out and tried to turn round in-one on my driveway and just caught the brick pillar at low speed. It's taken the paint work off but it's only on the plastic bumper so it's just one more blemish on my beater of a car.

Ripped out the fuse box thats been giving me dramas, need a new one - trying to source one from a wreckers - if anyone knows anyone with an ST185 that they no longer need the fuse box, say if they did a 205 swap and used it's harness - I'm keen as. Anyway, from Toyota, if buying new, the fuse box comes as part of the loom. I know. $1500. Hence wreckers.

Also got around to tidying up the wiring under the dash for both the ECU and for the starter system. Took ages, but I'm pretty confident now in the ECU harness.

Also picked up my new engine mounts - they are a high performance item, the rubber is fully bonded around the casing. Just need to fit them. So, to get it driving again:

Get and fit new fuse box (Aparantly a wrecker can help me with that, he emailed me before)
Get and fit new Thermo Switch fitting for coolant manifold (Can't buy from Toyota, so its a wrecker job too - same wrecker says he may have that too)
Fit engine mounts, refit battery, air filer assembly, oil filter, thermostat, put coolant in, make sure thermostat is working.

Sounds easy doesn't it? Well I'm cheering up because I can see the light in the distance, then at least I can drive it and enjoy it while I save for MORE POWER

Started removing the stereo out of the Skyline in preparation for sale. Any ideas on speaker sizes for an Audi A4? Probably going to transplant the speakers, amps and sub over to the new car when I eventually get it and if the speakers fit but the head unit is going up for sale as well.

I'm going to sell the S'Line and the head unit before I get the new car so I have as much cash as possible for whatever I need for the new car, plus to replace the windscreen surround on the Suzuki so the windscreen wiper doesn't fall off and so that water doesn't leak into the footwells every time it rains. I've gotten the hang of driving it even with the crook clutch so it'll be my daily driver for a while.

Put some 18's on my MK4 Golf ;)

Thanks mate, I've also got some custom Daytime Running Lights with projector headlights ;)

Hopefully will be doing extractors, hi-flow cat and exhaust system within a couple weeks, and then a nice R32 bodykit :) Oh and tinted windows!

Went through the front forks on my XL600R today.

Removed them from the bike, did a complete disassembly and cleaning. Replaced both oil seals, and both bottom rod bolts (Good: Allen head bolts. Bad: Stripped Allen head bolts. Had to go buy an impact driver, enlarge the fitting, and hammer an oversize allen socket into it, and use the impact driver to break it... Curse the last owner). Fresh oil to top it off, and they're sitting by the bike for installation tomorrow.

Also put a deposit on a new set of Continental TKC80's for the bike. I didn't need two new tires, just the rear, but I wanted to upgrade to something better. Should be just as capable as the old Kendas offroad, but with better street manners and better grip on the pavement.

Well... i was going to install these on my GT3, but i haven't really gotten around to it. besides, once i finally do, im going stainless steel brake lines and new endurance pads, so im gonna have to set aside quite a bit of time!

It really is. Really stoked about being able to pick it up, even though the girlfriend isn't too impressed :nervous:

One of the reasons I do not have one. ;)

Today I'm going to wash the car, then after the NASCAR race I'm going to hit up the local twisty spot to try out my new steering rack.

Show off...LOL nah thats awesome.

I painted the engine bay of my cousin's Civic a very vibrant Toyota silver, and I did a fantastic job if I do say so myself.

We started today at about 3 pm scuffing the bay, blowing it out, priming some details, scuffing again, taping and wrapping everything, cleaning it with wax and grease remover, and by the time I got done with the tack cloth is was about 2:30 in the morning. I spent the next little while figuring out how to mix and spray the auto paint because it's a bit different than the thicker industrial enamel I'm used to, but it was easy enough. I sprayed a coat, waited about 10 minutes, then came in with a second coat to cover everything with a smooth orange peel and a deep, shiny gloss. Just got done here at about 4:30 am.

I'm very surprised I was able to get good coverage everywhere, even deep down in all the nooks and crannies of these old FWD engine bays. Things are tight in there. I'm very pleased with it, it's definitely better than the paint jobs my other friends have been doing to their cars lately. A hot and sweaty and sticky day well spent.

I'm going to get finished pics of it soon, it didn't cross my mind after I finished. Can't wait to see this super shiny metallic in the sunlight!

Hey guys, I'm here to ask a couple quick questions from someone who's removed the dealership badge off the car. I figured I would ask here instead of a whole new thread.

Is a hair dryer on hottest enough to warm it up properly? Will the paint difference between the trunk and where the badge is be noticeable? The car is 13 years old so that's one concern. What's a good way to remove adhesive? "Goo Gone" or 3M don't exist here.

A hairdryer should be enough, and gasoline should get the glue off, but you're probably going to have a nice spot of brand new looking paint in the shape of the dealer sticker left. That's what happened with my dealer sticker, as well as the other badges on the car.

EDIT: On another note, ordered conversion brake lines and a rebuild kit for my 300zx calipers in preparation for 300zx brakes/5 lug conversion.

Went up and down Pikes Peak last Sunday for the races and blew a heater hose, so that was replaced.

Currently in the process of black-housing my headlights, but it's too dark and rainy to mount them to the car and post pics. I'm loving them already though. I almost went for the "JDM" yellow high-beam reflectors, but after looking at several online pics, it just doesn't look right to me. My all-clear corner laps will need to be traded out for some all-amber lenses ASAP, the clears stick out like a sore thumb. Or if I can find some decent looking black ones...

Pics on the morrow if the weather agrees.

That's my concern. I think I'll just leave the badge on then, even though I hate it. Might call the dealership though. I hope the dealer badge has no mounting holes.

Aaaaaand now I'm blowing the fuse for the corner lights/taillights/gauge cluster backlight. I checked and re-checked all the connections I messed with in the headlight un-install/re-install but nothing. It better be hot and dry tomorrow.

Spent a few hours yesterday re-mounting the forks on the XL. I spent a couple hours with a wire brush, toothbrush, and a rag to clean years of accumulated dirt and grease out of the bike - Swing arm, front caliper, areas around the chain and chain guides. I greased all of the fittings in the rear suspension, and broke the chain so I could take it off and clean it properly.
I took the rear wheel off, and cleaned it, then disassembled the rear drum brake to blow the dust out of the drum and scuff the shoes. Took the front wheel off, cleaned it, and dropped both wheels off at the cycle shop. The new front tire is in stock, the rear should be arriving Monday or Tuesday. Also took the cluster apart to replace a couple bulbs in the speedometer.

Today I bled the front brake, and replaced the pads. Torqued up all the suspension fittings, did a little more cleaning too. Replaced the grips and adjusted a few cable throws. Put the chain back on, and got it as ready as I could for when the wheels come back. Shouldn't need more than an hour once I get the wheels back to have them on and get out for a ride.
Also did an oil change on the Talon when I was done everything else. Fresh Mobil and a Wix filter, a bit overdue.

Got all four wheels off the ground while driving.

This is a list of what I done to my Mustang
March to Christmas Eve 1999: Rebuilt from my brother's accident and drove straight to a party

Spring 2000: Ditched my breaker point ignition for an electronic conversion

Spring 2004: Upgraded to rear disc brakes

Summer 2006: Changed to a Holley Street Avenger 670cfm Carburetor

November 2006: Upgraded to a Magnaflow Exhaust

Spring 2008-Winter 2009: AOD replacing the FMX automatic transmission. The AOD upgraded by Performance Automatics.

February 2009: Changed out my motor mounts, transmission mount, new suspension bushings (all polyurethane) and new front brake lines (braided stainless steel)

Spring 2009 upgraded to electric cooling fan and than I put a carburetor heat dissapator kit (works like a carb spacer but with gaskets and shims placed carburetor and manifold mount)

Summer 2009: Upgraded my taillights to LED Sequential.

Currently comtemplating to upgrade my engine to a roller camshaft at this time.

Installed HID low beams and fog lights the other day, using 6000k low beams and 3000k fogs. I don't have any pictures though.

Well, it's the NYPD's swat truck I had to change brakes and put the truck on the computer. To see how many injectors are getting ready to,or have already failed.

Nice, something else seems to be wearing out on the Accord: the starter. I'm getting a grind right as it kicks the motor on . Someone's getting a near brand-new Honda when I finally go looking for a coupe!

But I did finally snap a shot of my black-housed headlights. I only did this because they're parts I can swap over to my next Accord. I'd rather not lose a lot of possible sales because it looks like it was a tuner.

Installed Mustang LX tailights to replace those nasty cheese grater tailights that came on the GT's.

Before:

After:

Was thinking of nightshading the LX tails, but I kinda like the way they looks on my car as they are. So I think I'll leave em the way they are for now.

Thanks. Now I've gotta find the time to install my Steeda strut tower, sorta requires drilling into the firewall though and I don't have any tools. Might have to take it to the shop so I don't mess it up myself haha.
