I just wouldn't care. At least people could see you bought good name brand shocks and not some cheap KYBs or something.
ThatmanI grind-ed away a little bit of the shock so that my new-ish tires wouldn't rub.
I second this idea. You WHAT?!? Oh dear... Should have bought the right size instead of cheap mis-fitting crap...
The very bottom part. And not a lot either. On the other 7 they were grinded away even further.Which part of the shock did you grind?
*snip*
I second this idea.
Besides a 2mm clearance won't last long when you put lateral load on the tires
Keep this in mind: 17x9 is as wide a wheel as you should get. With that, don't go higher than +25 offset, and don't go lower than +15. Higher and they're dangerous close to aftermarket coilovers which are already skinnier than the stock springs and dampers, and lower and you'll be having a helluva time pulling your fenders.
The hub flexes. Yes, the part your wheel is bolted to bends when you turn. There isn't that much flex on the top of a tire. I mean If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but I have never heard the top of a tire flexing being an issue. Unless that's not what you meant.
Thatman18x8 with a +42.
CyborgGTIt is now 2:30am. No work tomorrow... or today, however you want to look at it. Going to fill up, grab a soda and head out into the foothills for a nice drive![]()
Got the tires put on the rims today and I installed them tonight, it looks sexy as! Took it for a little drive and I have severe rubbage on the slightest of bumps, just as I thought, I need to get the rear guards rolled. Totally worth it though
So, who knows someone in Brisbane who does a good job and is careful with paint??
