How come? Did you put it away foor winter or something?
Battery just died. Found out today the Handsfree link device was causing shorts & when the car turned off, the device did not slowly sapping the battery. The new part will be in tomorrow, so I should have the car back by tomorrow afternoon.

Got the car jumped today, rescued by the little Honda. Battery was dead as can be, wouldn't even attempt to turn over. 8 minutes later, Acura sprung to life again.

Now she needs a new battery, oil, & a wash.
I'm surprised our batteries have enough juice for that.

Installed a black leather MOMO AT shift knob, which is so much nicer than my old golf club head looking one. Then swapped out my centre console trim for one from a coupe so it matches my radio panel and changed out all the wood grain trim in the front and back for aluminum trim pieces. Which means other than working on my stereo, my interior is finally complete. :D 👍

Pics or it never happened. :dopey:

They look like RPF1s to me. The black ones don't come with stickers, you have to put them on yourself. Tire Rack doesn't even sell them with stickers.

These are Drag DR-21's. RPF1 knock-off. Yeah, call me cheap.

Thanks for the offers on the parts. Car already has the Si brakes, and I'm not sure what front sway bar is on it right now, but I'll be keeping it and installing the ASR rear subframe brace with 22mm rear bar. And yes, it will be getting the Password JDM front and rear tower bars. 👍

That's why plywood front splitters are the best... ...been there, done that. Embarrasingly.

Meh, went in my new ST185 to a mates place, had it sitting there, running, and I heard a squirting leaking sound, popped bonnet, and coolant is spraying everywhere. So, diagnosis - radiator pipe has crack. So i take it off, and I take a look at the main one coming off the radiator, coz I knew the blow off valve sits up against it and has probably worn that one too, so i rip that one off too, go down to autobarn and buy 2 new hoses, and a new blow off valve that doesn't rub (i was going to buy one anyway, this just hurried me up)

Ended up getting a Turbosmart Vee Port, and my god does it sound better than the Monza Type 3 that was on it (really crap one)

Oh, and i took off the redundant clamp that was on the air flow meter - the one that wore its way through the radiator pipe that blew - i don't know what muppet decided it was a good idea to have it rubbing on it ?!

I hope thats the last dodgy thing I find on it. Considering I had just come back from spending 70 bucks worth of stuff to clean and wax it, it was an unexpected expensive day :( But at least I know its sorted now.)

Now all I have to do is fit my short shift kit and get the linkage cables replaced (short shift kit arrives next week, linkage cables 5 weeks away) and I'll be happy. Wheels to follow!

Yesterday I spent a couple hours fixing the timing on the Civic. When we replaced the timing belt, we accidentally installed it a tooth off. So, the timing was retarded so much that advancing the dizzy all the way only put the car at TDC. It's better now.:) Also replaced the alternator belt because it was about toast, and the valve cover gasket since it was leaking everywhere.

Also took the car out to my favorite downhill spot and had a couple runs at it. Car handles great with just the Falkens on it. Can't wait to get some of the other stuff done. :D

I drove mine today. For the first time in about two months. After getting nowhere with the bolts holding the slave cylinder to the gearbox bellhousing, it's going to be booked into a garage. Rather than having it towed or put on the back of a truck though, I decided to top up the fluid and bleed the system so I can drive it there myself and save some hassle.

The bleed actually went remarkably well for a job that most sites seem to suggest is a two-person job. I bought a cheap one-man bleed kit, set it all up, pumped the pedal a few times, topped it up, repeated a few times and eventually a nice, un-bubbly stream of fluid started finding its way down the hose. Did up the bleed nipple, and pushed the pedal to be greeted with a wonderful firmness that it's not had since before Winter.

And a little puddle of fluid on the floor. So the cylinder is definitely knackered, but it's not leaking faster than I can top it up so I know I can get it to the garage.

Was a struggle moving it though. Having been sat for two months with moisture in the air, the pads and disks (which are nearing the end of their life anyway) had decided to get better acquainted and it took a good few revs to get the thing un-stuck. Now there's just a bit of a scraping sound from the rears especially but it did subside with about ten laps around my flat car park so probably with a longer run out and some stops from higher speed and it'll get rid of the rest of the rust.

For the time being I'm leaving it parked in gear rather than using the hand brake. I would have done that originally but with it being up and down on the jack I'd rather have the extra little security of the handbrake holding it in one place.

I think it'll need some new disks and pads soon anyway though. Not a lot of meat left on either.

Good to hear you're on the way to getting it sorted HFS. Mine is in for it's MOT this week. I know it needs discs & pads on the front but what else??

Yeah, getting there bit by bit. Good luck on the MOT, I've got until about September to make sure there's nothing on mine that it'll fail on. Probably the brakes, but I'm sorting those anyway in the next few months. It's not vital strange as it sounds because I drive so infrequently.

I'm pretty similar, mine has only done about 5,000 miles since the last MOT when they said I wouldn't make the end of the year with the front pads. Now that I've moved I get public transport to work and only use it for fun or when I have to gout and the wife is out in the wagon. Going to get the gearbox oil changed at the MOT too as the change into second is getting worse. It's had a replacement box at some point in it's past too.

Hopefully going out chasing my mate in his GT3 once he gets either a puncture fixed or new rear tyres depending how bad the tyre is. At least it'll be freshly MOTd when I do but that won't really make my chances any better. At least you can hear it from about 2 miles away.

Swapped my winter-months Michelin Sport Alpins off in favor of my world-weary Bridegetone RE-01Rs. They'll make it until I put the Aplins back on in December, but they'll be almost slick by then, especially if I run the 5 or 6 events I'm planning to this summer.

How many miles did you get out of the RE01s? I've got a set of Star Specs coming in tomorrow, going on wednesday most likely.

I enjoyed the beautiful weather we had in PA today and gave the Rado a nice wash. Then I drove around with the windows down and the music turned up. This was later followed by a trip to the gas station:D.

I started selling parts! I posted my list on Craigslist at about 6:00, and I've already made $70 selling two things tonight, and I've had a couple calls about stuff I don't have. I can't take any pictures because my camera is MIA right now, but that's why I'm up to.

I lowered my coils. Low enough? Or should i go lower?

I don't usually have a big ass grin about going to the gas station.

Almost got caught ripping off a car wash tonight. My friends and I discovered an un-traceable way to get the self-serves for free, so none of us haved payed for a wash in quite some time. The owner arrived to close down the lobby while we were in the middle of a wash, the thing mysteriously shut off while he was inside, so we booked it.

Oh, and obviously we're all going to have different tastes on lowering, but the TL looks a smidge too low in the rear and even smidgier too low in the front... imo. Needs slightly bigger rims, methinks, to pull off a lowered look. But then again, I hate how ridiculously bloated modern cars' bodies are.

If you can't do a full lock-to-lock turn in a parking lot, I'd say it's too low.

I prefer my wheels centered in the wheel-wells...

Note, I jiggled with the ride height with different springs and spacers to get it so that the arc of the wheelarch matches perfectly with the curve of the rims. Which means absolutely no rubbing, except in 1g turns (which is perfectly fine) and no bottoming out, either. It also looks nice and neat this way.

EDIT: I hope when you say "lowered my coils" you meant replaced them or adjusted the perch on coil-overs and didn't mean "cut".
