True but it can be made out of coal (even low grade coal).
But guess who owns the patent on this; yes the oil companies.

That's just making one limited resource from another limited resource. Not really a good solution, especially when the need for coal is so high in power production. It's also a dirty process to convert coal to gas. If we do anything with coal, it should be cleaning the energy production up, which is now feasible.

Actually there are different types of coal and some types are not efficient for energy production because they burn too fast and hot and have more pollution, while slower burning, slightly cooler kinds can offer less pollution and be more efficient.

So, there are coal types that do not make good power production fuel and are basically an untapped resource.

Plus, being in Kentucky the idea of limited coal is a far distant thought that won't be a serious concern until we are well beyond the need for some oil relief. By that time we should be on whatever new fuel source we decide upon. Coal limits are only a localized fear as it applies to an individual mine, which is the main income source for a town.
