What is 1080i 480p ?

Hey 1TwoJay, take a pic of gt4 on your tv, I mean so we can see the tv, it would be nice to see it, thats all.

2jay, had a talk to my friend who deals with tv's. He knows a little bit about the ps2. He was telling me that 1920x1080i might be pushing it for the ps2, instead, he said 1280x1080i would perfectly work for gt4's 1080i support.

I dont think so. Whatever res the PD intends will automatically be set or will the tv set it? I have worried about this; the tv sets the res format to the native res and that could f up the picture. I know for a fact that my ps2 games that arent 480p enabled are set to 480p on my tv and I believe this is the same with other tv's and sometimes, the picture looks like ass so I have to set my ps2 for AV support because the 480p makes the games look like pure ass and I'm a 1000% sure pd knows this and that makes me believe gt4 is doing real 1080i.

I'm pretty sure you can recieve HD satellite programs from Japan. Besides, HD will become maintstream not far from now.

What are the chances of the PAL version having 480p/1080i? (Most PAL games don't.)

I assume the American NTSC version will as it is still NTSC. 👍
