I'm really proud of my Bobs. Ones named D.Oh pronounced Doh!!(in a Homer Simpson voice). The others are S.Kojima and R.Kelley. R.Kelley likes to pee alot.

Strangely I call all mine by the generic name of Dave, have done since GT4. Only heard of 'Bob' recently myself.

That's funny, I used "Dave" as the character name in many video games, which stuck and became a long running joke amongst my cousins and I

But to answer you question, Bob is the generic name for a group of computer-controlled drivers that ignore you instead of "taking advice" from you.
