I think he's gotten the idea that he messed up first time around...he's not likely to try become a valued member (nor will any other new poster) if half the forum jump on him for the same thing and turn the entire thread into what's basically a "do this, do that, and if you don't...go away" thread.

Not everyone can be a grade A student with absolute on the ball proper spelling and grammer at a young age...would you expect a 10 year old to come on here and talk like a 20 year old? I think not...

And in the same logic as Mayuri...everyone makes mistakes.

Don't you guys think this discussion is completely off-topic? He got his question answered on the firtst 5 replies, so why should we drag out his grammatical and spelling errors for someone who is considered "at such a young age?" (Just saying, I am 13 as well, so I can understand where he is probably used to talking on the Internet)

Can't you all take it a bit easy on new members? We senior members are supposed to welcome them, not to discourage them with whole bunch of negative jokes. Aren't we supposed to do whatever we can to save them from becoming someone like PS, wasace68 and mopar68.
Part of what "saves" a new member from that fate is seeing exactly how they respond to a thread like this. Many people come to this forum, full of excitement over seeing their own words in print, and full of their own questions and ideas.

Then they learn that they are the 1749th person to have these ideas and questions, not the originator at all. This gets pointed out to them, in no uncertain terms, by several of the 1748 people who had the idea first.

What happens next is up to the new member:

They can decide to settle down, take the advice, do a lot of research into what's already been posted, and make only constructive posts that add to the existing discussions or present truly new topics.

Or the user can decide that they can't admit they made such a mistake, so they start getting aggressive and calling the existing members stupid and gay and other rude names. This goes on until they leave in shame or get banned.

But that choice is up to them, and they'll never make it without thread repsonses like some in this very thread. That's why it's still open and hasn't been recycled.

*sigh* Read Duke's post. I made the same mistake in a previous... alias... in another forum of course. You do NOT want to do that, it can lead to bannination. The mods and admins here are generally pretty nice, and will give you chances before banning you, but enough is enough.

Oh, and also please reply on my newest threads.
If your threads have merit, people will reply constructively all by themselves - you don't need to beg. If they don't have merit, you will get more criticism.

But I'm advising you, in plain, clear words - make sure any new thread you post is not a repeat, and is WORTH posting. The "my newest threads" comment makes me nervous.

The "my newest threads" comment makes me nervous.

Great sig material comes from threads like these.

He seems to be using a little bit of grammar now though, so there is hope!

:dunce: No I mean if your going to comment on something do it on my newsest thread not in the old ones, because then I need to keep going back and forth between 3...

It's not uncommon for people to reply in both threads. In that case you will have to just jump back and forth and adapt.

@Duke - I got what you mean.

Ultimately, WhackAzn, it's up to you to change. I say read over Duke's post carefully and think about it. It's good that you've started using proper grammar; you have some hope of staying here :)

Basically, it's your fault for making several threads in the first place. If you can't keep up, don't make so many. Stick to maing a few, making sure they stay on the actual topic, or just find your answers by searching this board as mentioned by Duke and many members before me.

As mentioned just above though, you are slowly improving, like with your grammar, so keep it up. Follow all of the Moderator's advice and people will stop telling you what to do.

Welcome to the world of internet forums. I routinely check nearly every forum on this website on every visit, looking at who-knows-how-many threads.

If you want all of the replies to every discussion topic to appear in the same place, go find a chatroom.

*Cries with joy* Wee! I've got a sig with material from such a thread!
*Gets serious* And it's also linked to in my sig. WhackAzn, you can look through the two threads in my sig. This guy didn't have that good a start, and then started flaming. But, unlike you, his first thread started as a flame, so there wasn't much hope...

I have a serious question about optional clutches in GT4. Not the type that women carry, but about the single plate and dual plate clutches offered in the tuner garage.

Is is possible that in place of a triple plate clutch, using a single or dual plate clutch would decrease the amount of tire wear? Since there is some slippage at the clutch, there should be less force supplied to the tires. Or in GT4 do you just lose HP transmitted to the driven wheels and still get the same amount of tire wear?

The clutches given in the tuning options actually all transmit 100% of the engine's power with no slip, no matter how much you build up the engine. So no, the single-plate stock clutch won't really save your tires. The only difference lies in the amount of time each shift takes - shifts get quicker as you add the higher level parts.

*rolls eyes*, I come back after a long hiatus and this is what I return to? :P

Excellent answer Duke, umm, what about automatic clutch packs while we're discussing feminine accessories? ( and yes, I know they don't exist in the game, just in the ( ho hum ) real world...

Thanks. I suppose I should test a car at the dragstrip with different clutches and see if the times increase when using the cheaper clutches. So I guess that GT doesn't really do a true simulation of clutches. In real life a stock clutch will have a tendency to slip when used with a high-HP engine. I never actually tested the basic clutch in GT4, since I usually mod that sort of stuff before I ever drive a stock car.

If you don't learn the stock car, how do you know what needs to be modified?

rockrapdude - one more post like that and it'll be your last action on this site.

To add to that, the more clutch plates you have, the higher pressure forms in turn allowing gears to switch faster, seeing there is more force adjusting them.

It was just a bad habit I had when I raced previous versions of GT. Modding frenzy, you could call it. In my mind, in theory, everything needed mods. If some was good, more was better. Otherwise why bother to have costly mods. What's the point of having a ton of credits except to load a car with mods (or buy a faster car to be modded). To me, it wasn't about driving, it was all about adding mods. And it saved time in not having to go back to the tuning garage to get more mods if I really needed them.

I disdain the word "stock". That's for people with no cash to buy mods. I did the same in real life. I could just name my list of mods to my vehicles and that helped my well-being.

Look, people even buy brand new cars with factory mods and special packages without driving the stock car. It's just a mental edge sort of thing. I grew up reading custom car magazines and stock was not part of my world. Add this part, add that part, customize this, buy a new set of headers, a higher flow carb, longer duration camshaft, more powerful ignition, stiffer sway bars, heftier coils. Mod=better sort of thing.

I've changed my ways since then, so you have to understand that people get off on certain things.

i hate manual on super speedway....
Is there a reason why? You only have to shift maybe once per turn, so your basically just going L2 R2 L2 R2 L2 etc. Is it the repetative nature of the shifting that makes you hate it?

In real life you don't want this to happen, the only time a clutch should slip is when the driver is controlling it using the clutch pedal. You want to use the clutch that has a torque rate higher than what the engine gives.

Firstly read this. All of it. Especially the 3rd from last bullet point.

Now adjust your posting style accordingly, i.e. use capital letters, punctuation, and proper English. Thanks.

For someone who has just posted this in your other thread:-

you'll have to work pretty hard on your posts from now on to become a valued member here. 👎

Asking a such a fundamentally simple question as "What is a clutch?" after insulting everyone here has left you wide open for a flaming! I won't though since I'm not that childish. :)

A clutch is....well actually seeing as Wolfe2x7 has already given you the most informative link you're ever likely to need, (+REP for that!) then I don't need to go any further! :sly:

Buck up your posting ideas if you're going to stick around. Take time to carefully read through the FAQ links that are stickied at the top of the GT4 board, along with the car lists, used car lists and prizecar lists. 👍

give him a break, so what if he isnt fluent in english, how you gonna show him up for that? "Oh im a supermoderator and im higher than everyone else and my closest friend is the Acceptable Use Policy". tell you what im sick of all the admins and moderators on this site, closing all my threads and all. dam h0es. go fckin suck d1k, dam.
