What is a "switch"?

id assume they mean upgrades; swithes in parts.

Example: switching from stock to a low rpm turbo

I think they mean that they haven't even selected the car.
Every time you choose a car to drive and you get that engine startup sound it counts toward the number of "Changes"(not sure on the name) but this is most likely what people are talking about when they say that.

I'm pretty sure it counts tire changes also, I have 18 switches/changes on my X2010 that only can originate from changing tires ...

I'd suggest asking them at the time rather than asking about something which is clearly uniquely interpreted by so many. (see above)

Nothing divides man like a common language!

Ah, I see, it probably means how many times you switched to the car. I can't believe some people are worried about something insignificant like that

It does mean that and I can't believe people are bothered by it either.:indiff:

I think they mean something like this:

When you click "Change Car" in your garage that is recorded against the car.

0 Switches = 0 Changes.

I think they mean something like this:

BWAHAHAHAHA....thanks for the laugh.....

No! click "Change Car" alone doesn't make the Changes number increase, number increase when you use the car for races, Tuning shop or GT Auto.
Sometimes I notice the changes are recorded without any reason, and if you go in Settings screen before the race or tuning shop the change wont be counted..quite bugged stuff!!:dunce:

PS
This thing don't bother me at all, I was just curious!!

I'm pretty nuts about collecting cars with zero miles on them but the "switched cars" stat dosen't really matter to me much either way.

LMAO @ that pic! 👍 Golden.

Yeah, 0 Kms is understandable, but simply choosing the car for a sec...come on!

I actually have a car that has 4 changes recorded when I traded it from someone, but nothing has been done to it. Then again, I guess they could have washed/changed oil or something. Will test this actually.

i don't see why people have to be OCD about this... who cares? if you never plan to "switch" to a car.... that means you never plan to drive it. whats the point? i'm collecting all sorts of cars with thousands of miles (i just do a engine/body refresh) and get in and out of it as much as i please...

Totally agree. I feel forced to ask for only 0 Km cars, just because I know they will be much easier to trade. For myself, I could not care less if it has Kms on it, nothing an engine rebuild can't do.

Oh and I tested it, it doesn't actually count a change when you just switch to the car. Haven't tried changing oil/washing it yet, but I installed rigidity improvements and bought 2 sets of tyres and only had 1 change recorded. So I'm thinking it was from the rigidity improvement :S

The worse one is when they ask if it has 0 miles? who cares ... its a car and unlike you im not scared to drive it.
Some guy asked me if it my x2010 has no miles i was like yeah but just to annoy you im going to start the engine and go for a practice run 👍 you can still have it after mate :D

The duping make the car no more value, the slot for sending car is now more valueble. the value of the car is going down until the point of those thing like 0 mile or 0 switch will add more value to it. but i'm looking for car with 1000 switch and 1 000 000 miles stock car.

Hey, dont y'all realize in 2045, these 0- switch 0-changed GT5 five "program" cars are going to be worth 5 trillion dollars each. Why would you ever think of playing with them?

:dopey:

The goal of the game is to collect all cars with 0 changes recorded, so you can look at them until GT6 comes out, then realise you have wasted your life. I dunno what this "completing races" nonsense is all about.
