What is better alternative console game than GT6?

Gran Turismo is pretty much unmatched. Forza 5 is the only competition. I heard grid autosport is good and cant wait to try it, but it lacks the variety of cars you get with GT and Forza. Driveclub and project cars are around the corner, but i dont think they will match the variety you get with Gran Turismo.

Just get Forza 4 . I found physics similar to GT6. The FF layout is by far bettter (GT6 need improvement to that) .FR cars are like on ice sometimes.
Customization is great ! If you always wanted something like that in GT6 you will be amazed in Forza.
Also Carlist.Much more variety (no duplicates) .It has European Hatches and Supercars,a lot of American Muscles and the most important Japanese Cars (no Alto :P )

Overall I have every Gt and every Forza (except 5) and I love them both ,no need to be a fanboy

Cars only feel on ice if you don't take proper racing lines and go into turns in the incorrect gear and speed. What are your deads? Wheel or controller?

You're very vehement on this :)
I ran Forza 4 for 2 years with a Fanatec GT2 wheel, and compared to all the big PC sims (iRacing, AC, pCARS, etc..) many FR or MR cars really are like ice.
Try an example: Take the stock Pagani Huayra (which I once used in a rivals challenge in Forza 4) around Mugello, and then run the same car in AC around Mugello. The AC car oversteers whenever you want but you have to initiate it. The Forza 4 car oversteers by default.

Yup, I have them all too (GT & FM) except for FM5, as I have no interest in the Xbox One. But yeah, there's no reason to go fanboy over either one. They both have their strengths & weaknesses. I like both of them, but for different reasons. For the OP... FM4 is by far the best alternative to GT6, if you're looking for a similar game.

Right. What are your deads? Let's not compare FM4 to PC sims.. we know it ain't cut out to compete with the latter. Are you on SIM steering? Do you have the latest game update and firmware update for your wheel?

I'll play: GT2 wheel is on the 7xx firmware, tried sim and normal steering (also known as hero mode for how it helps you look good controlling any oversteer), no deadzones, using a touch of linearity (10-20) around center due to the non-linear steering axis which is present by default, F4 always fully updated (and all DLC owned). But I shelved my Xbox 360 late last year after the AC early access and GT6 came out.

But my point is that when you bring PC sims into the picture, GT's driving feel is actually closer than Forza 4s. Obviously if you want GT to compare you need to put the right tyres on: Sports Hards are far too grippy to represent real road tyres.

To give you another example, I can lap the Ferrari 458 around Silverstone in almost identical times on AC and on GT6 when I set the GT6 car to Comfort Soft tyres. The car has a very similar feel too. Forza 4's F458 feels rather different.

Interesting. I would suggest you take an actual high-powered car around a track.. test it out.. then drive a similar car with a similar tune in FM4, for comparison's sakes. It does a good job physics-wise, though I haven't played it on a wheel. You should look into getting FM5 for the ultimate experience. It's quite close to what you'd expect in PC sims.

I'm just not willing to buy the "so and so car handles better in that sim or there are similarities between these 2 games so FM4 is the odd one out" justification. FM4 gets real-life driving down right.. though all three games - GT5, GT6 and FM4 are a collection of hits and misses. FM4 has the least misses, the most hits. How do I arrive upon this conclusion? Real-world driving experience. Not running comparisons with other games.

Happy motoring! Since you've shelved your 360, I'd highly recommend taking FM5 for a spin. The physics are only going to get better with M6 arriving next year.

Yep, it's a very well known "trade-mark".

Something hard to admit for some fans.
