I just finished a 15 minute session of GT6, only to take the disk out and find this. The PS3 was not making noises, it is getting enough air, and it isn't an old model. It was not this way before. Can someone explain?

mine looks like that too, and it has for the last year. It shouldn't affect you in any way.

Yeah, my disk has been like that as well from the day of release (after I played it, obviously), and it hasn't caused any problems since, so you should be safe from any problems.

So what is the issue here?

"Everything is working fine. Can someone explain?"

Yes we can. Everything is fine. As long as you don't try to use the part of your disc that has a phone stuck to it.

To be honest, I cannot really tell from the pictures that there might be some minor warping. It looks like a normal B-ray disc to me.

The double layer Bluray disc usually have wavy pattern ( I have MGS IV just like GT6 ), it should be fine. Mine has gold color with similar wavy pattern.

I'll have to do a very rare disk eject to inspect my GT6 disc. From what I recall, it doesn't have that wavy rainbow pattern. Of course I could be wrong.

I could not see this pattern under the normal lighting conditions, but when I turned on the CFL lamp, the pattern showed on the GT6, Killzone 3, and MGS4 discs. GT5 and other discs that I checked don't have this pattern.

That's a thing that usually happens to Blu Ray discs.

Yes, and like I said, is absolutely normal. I also have a friend that works in the industry and he too says this is normal and nothing to worry about.

@unit-one GT6 is a dual layer disc unlike GT5. The rainbow effect is going to be more pronounced than on regular discs. Just think of prisms and how light reflects through certain things.

GT5, Uncharted 2, GT6, probably more of my discs have this.

I have 30 PS3 games (including old ones like Armored Core: For Answer and MGS4) and this has not happened to me before, even though people say it's a regular thing.

...... F:censored:. I may have just jinxed myself. :nervous:

lol ...I thought I was the only one that has a GT6 disc that uses the PS3 as a permanent CD Cover. I do not think it has ever been out of there. Goodness only knows how many other meaningless apparent problems I have going on in there ...

It's normal for GT6 discs.

My disc is like that as well. I noticed it on day one when I first took it out of the box, it still worked though so I thought no more of it.

👍

I just checked my GT6 disc and low and behold it's still round! Rainbow patterns too. :p

The disc is fine. They're all like that. Carry on, now.

I noticed many PS3 games have a similar type disk since Killzone 3, which is the first game I noticed being this way.
