What is 'IBTL'

I'm fairly new to the world of forums and I don't really understand the shorthand text many people use, may you all be so kind as to help me out with this please.

It means "In Before The Lock". People post it when they see a thread that will obviously be closed in the very immediate future. They try and turn it into a game by beating the moderators to post in the thread before it is closed. It's just spam, and unconstructive spam at that.
