After I have been reading through countless threads about gt I was thinking there has to be something people loathe about the gt series.

For me it has to be the lack of innovation and it means that gt is plain and bland.PD for some reasons are not the first ones to come out with all the latest racing atmosphere for a game. While games like nfs, grid and forza are always come up with something to make the racing more creative and involving and not just making it real and real and real like gt.I know we need all the perfect graphics and the best physics but there should be a creative side like Jordan said to make the menu simple and not to ask if you want to drive this car 3 times.I know gt5 are working towards it in the form of gttv and other online stuff but there is still a lot to be achieved.I am editing all this to explain what I think of innovation.

In the end I think GT is like having a physics lesson from a professor and games like forza, nfs ans grid are like having a physics lesson from a pole dancer if you get my point.

the innovation thing, its reaally Out of context.

now in my opinion, Lack of really good Online Mode, Body Modifications and Livery Editor.

With GT5P Physics, Graphics and Sounds im Good.

I'd have to say the ridiculous level of secrecy. No other developer I know of leaves it's fans in the cold, without even a screenshot now and again. Second to that are the license tests. I shouldn't have to re-learn how to drive for the fifth time. They were necessary to introduce new players to the series early on but now they're pointless. In GT5 there should be a system where if you already have a GT5 Prologue save on your PS3 you can bypass the tests.

Well sorry but im sick of reading "GT is missing innovations", Gran Turismo IS the innovation, the whole gameplay style was innovated from Polyphony Digital, stuff like damage and a better online mode arent innovations.

So, what "innovations" are missing?

Couldn't have put it better myself. Its frustrating going through all the licence tests over again. and yes about being in the cold, I'm fair sure by this stage they can easily release a screen shot or two. Otherwise the game is by far the most realistic car racing game ive ever played. In my opinion it's far better than any Need For Speed game as far as car handling etc goes.

I like the license tests because they give me a chance to learn the game. Each version handles differently so it is useful.

People, understand that GT doesn't reveal "secrets" for itself, it's a game!

To me, it would be the massive yet at the same time limited amount of cars. GT4 for example, over 600 cars, I liked less than 80 probably. :indiff:

Some of the early tests are a real pain. I found a copy of GT2 last night & tried it I had forgotten you could not race at all until you had completed all 10 for the B section at very least, 4 of which were accelerating & stopping in the section marked. At no point in any GT do you do that in a race so what is the point?

the long wait because i play gt5p sinds the realese and every day i got disappoindet by driving the same track ,over and over i cant wait any longer. i bought all cars but i play so much that i them again in an other colour its insane

Some people seriously need to learn what "innovation" means.
I agree completely. The Gran Turismo series has always been innovative. Photomode is a great example of a terrific innovation, adding an entirely new dimension to the genre. Replays were also something of an innovation, and have since become a hallmark of the GT series. GT5 also promises to take the racing genre into new areas - with innovations such as GTTV, being able to share replays via YouTube, integration with Home etc. PD's use of concept cars and numerous collaborations is also innovative - from real-world prototypes like 'GT by Citroen', to Virtual Test Drives (BMW 1 Series; Ferrari California)...

On a more general note regarding threads like these (i.e. complaints, grievances and general whine threads), remember that if you choose to post your opinion, prepare to have it challenged or disagreed with, particularly if you don't substantiate your point.

Threads like this that are an opening to flaming. Here come the crowd of people saying how much GT5 is going to suck and how Forza 3 is going to be much better. The secrecy that PD has with GT5 is a good thing because it will surprise us and anyways, the trailer gives some things away, it will have WRC, NASCAR, damage, and the regular GT content that has always made it a great game.

Hehe, I put GT2 into my PS3 lastnight too, and failed miserably to stop the Yaris in the area within the time  . At the moment I'm in denial, it must be something to do with it being on a PS3 that is messing with the timing of the stopwatch or something!

There are 3 things:
-backup lights not working
-no skidmarks on the track
-sound of the wheeles when drifting

Other than that PD always delivered 👍

I've always been frustrated by each game's "menu" performance and layout. No question, they've always looked good and slick, but I've always felt I had to make far too many button presses to make the appropriate selections. If speed and usability were given priority when designing the menus, I think we could all spend a lot more time playing the game instead of fiddling with buttons. GT5 Prologue improved on this somewhat, but it still has a long way to go.

👍 After recently returning to GT5:P i soon became so frustrated with the slow responses you suffer when clicking through menus. It's made worse by the multiple 'do you want to use this car now' etc boxes you have to navigate. Unfortunately it PD don't learn by their mistakes, each new game gets worse for menu navigation seemingly.

Lack of community involvement. This is probably forgivable for past releases but in this day and age, the thing that bothers me the most while waiting for GT5 is the lack of communication. It's clearly taking a very long time, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that, I suspect we'll reap the rewards, but it could be easily countered with a steady flow of information and communication with what's quite clearly, a very passionate fan base.

What is one thing I hate?
It is the lack of support and straight foreword feedback from developers to us the players. It would have been nice PD would create their own forums, or even send 5 members to scan these forums and give feedback and ask opinions and questions. What we want and etc..

That is what I hate about GT5

You mean developers. How can you hate a game that hasn't been even released yet? Moreover, this is about the GT series in general, not developers.

some ppl hate the secrecy and top secret "marketing"
but i love it, cuz it really tests ur dedication to the "game"

and when it does release, ur not only amazed but almost overwhelmed and in awe of wat u have in front of u.

the things i HATE are the Tire Squeal noises, no skids, incomplete car lights, and no "humanizing" driver animation, fist pumps wheel smacks, stares at other cars and lack of TASTEFUL car customization
