What is one thing you hate the most about GT?

some ppl hate the secrecy and top secret "marketing"
but i love it, cuz it really tests ur dedication to the "game"

and when it does release, ur not only amazed but almost overwhelmed and in awe of wat u have in front of u.

the things i HATE are the Tire Squeal noises, no skids, incomplete car lights, and no "humanizing" driver animation, fist pumps wheel smacks, stares at other cars and lack of TASTEFUL car customization

Welcome to :gtplanet:, here we don't like the use of "txt" speak.:sly:

I hate: there isn´t idle when you switch on the manual clutch, no rubber bands, crappy smoke (very good if they use the same in wet condition at gt5 IMO), tyre screech. Eventually, itsn´t a complete GT, just a " prologue".

Another implicit thing, is that anoying wait.

I would have to say this waiting game till GT5 is released and in the game, it's being told to "START" the race- text sprawling across the screen is so arcade. For that I'd much prefer audio cues or if has to be visual, something a bit more discreet. Pressing a button for "Reverse" as oppose to actually shifting a gear is another reminder of it's arcade-ish provenance (even the much maligned GRID has a R gear).

The one thing which has always bothered me is the uncompetitive AI. I've always found that I've had to adjust the performance of my car just so they can keep up with me and even after fiddling with my car it still doesn't guarantee them any chance of keeping up.

The AI occasionally show that they're capable of keeping up on Daytona Road, until they reach the oval section of the circuit. Hopefully PD make some tweaks for GT5. 👍

One thing I hate most in GT5:P is when I totally max out my Corvette Tuned and the AI doesn't do the same. It gets boring when I'm the only car hitting 220 around Daytona road coarse while the AI can only muster 180 or 190 on the highest AI setting.

Doing License Tests. Getting the prize cars is nice...but not worth it. I prefer Forza system: Do races, get experience, win cars. GT system is like: Do a lot of boring time trials, get licenses, THEN do races.

Dumb AI: At least, in GT4 they gave A-spec points, which were an indicator of "how bad your car needs to be to compare with the AI".

Obviously the wait.

Then Skidmarks - imagine following a ferrari in the game laying down some rubber out of second gear turn - lovely to watch.

The marble smooth FAKE FEELING roads. they should have the wheel rumbling over expansion joints and every other little bump in the road so you can feel the road.

I agree with the menus - they are so slow to load and ask to many are you sure questions.

We should be able to churn up the grass when we drive on it.

Crappy sound

Other than that I love this game so much.

How come people don't like the license tests? They're nice challenges and can actually teach you something unlike Forza's just race to get experience thing.

-> What I hate the most about PD's doing? On each Gran Turismo's iteration, they tend to delete and/or not carry over certain cars. Let me explain:

- Mitsubishi FTO LM = This ferocious car was featured since GT1 and carried over into GT2. But when GT3 showed up, it was a completly different car and it was carried over to GT4.

- Vector = This manufacturer was known for insane speeds in GT2. I don't know why they didn't return after GT2.

- Venturi = Same as above. It was France's answer to other traditional exotic cars.

-> Other notable cars:

- Plymouth PT Spyder (GT2)
- Dodge Concept Car [Copperhead] (GT1, GT2)
- Dodge Viper R/T 10 (GT1, GT2)
- Acura Integra GSR (GT2)
- Subaru Forester Turbo (GT2)
- BMW 740iL (GT2)
- Alfa Romeo 155 T-Spark (GT2)
- Lister Storm [Road Car] (GT2)
- Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG (GT2)
- TOM'S Angel T01 (GT2)
- TRD [MR-2] 2000GT (GT2)
- Acura Intergra Type-R (GT2)
- Toyota Starlet (GT2)

^ You guys know what I mean.

-> I was about to say about race tracks too, but that would make it two. ;)

I'm easy, i don't have any complaints! One thing though, why do people want backup lights? I don't watch my car backup, when i spin off the road.

A kinda agree with jordan about the menu, it shud be quicker in all games and you shud be able to open the garage quick like you can online on gt5p, but mainly a hate the AI, it just doesnt race it crashes into you, makes the same corners and mistakes all the time and they just follow each other :grumpy:

No keep the 1886 Benz, it's really fun when it's for 🤬 and giggles.

I'm not Billy-Bob and I don't have a 12 gauge, but I do have a Grammarhammer.

I know that much of that post was in jest, but make that the last appearance of "txtspk" in your post.

The ridiculous number of near-identical cars. Skylines, Imprezas, Civics, Celicas… it is completely unnecessary to include every single individual model.

there are several things that I don't like but I really hate ingame sounds(engine sound, tyre screeching etc.)

The thing i hate most is the "amount of draft"....when i think about racing on the Nordschleife, i think there will be like 10 overtakings each lap between 2 equal drivers (if it will stay like this in GT5) because of the exaggerated draft.

The rest is great and just need to be polished :D

i dont like the physics of the really high powered cars like the f1 car, its too unforgiving and it doesnt have as much grip as i would expect on r3.

+1 👍

Another thing I dont like is that we dont have online replay :(

I hate the limited # of online races. It would be nice to completely have control over online races. Choose track, pp, dt, etc...etc....

.....Although I hope some of my complaints & others will be address in GT5

I do agree with your point that the license tests are a much better alternative than Forza's leveling up system. My biggest gripe with Forza is that even when I have made enough money to buy an expensive car, I'm not allowed to buy it because I haven't reached a certain level. If I have the money, I should be able to buy the car, period. That's the way it works in real life!!!!!:mad::mad:

Sorry, I know this thread is for Gran Turismo complaints only, so I'll get back on topic. My point is, why do sim racers have to have a leveling up/experience element to them anyway? We're not playing an RPG, we're driving. Plus, at this point the Gran Turismo license tests teach me nothing. I learned everything I need to know from playing simulators, watching races, developing my own skills, and basic common sense. Believe me, there is no new information that GT5's license tests will give me.

I miss redrock valley race track aswell. I loved that track. or whatever it was called, something like that.

Trust me you have learned things by doing the license tests, they just aren't obvious. It's kind of like school, it's not like one day you just al of a sudden say "hay I finally used that skill I learned in the 10th grade", you just have the skill and use it.

As for leveling up, it is a key part of EVERY game, find me a game that doesn't have levels and you are describing a board game.
