And Bmw used to make airplanes and lamborghini makes a boat engine and porsche used to make flat four generators and subaru is owned by fuji heavy industries which makes all sorts of huge trucks and made zero's in WWII and and and.........Ahh just put in some more jgtc cars.

The TRUTH of Lamborghini. (Short)

Lamborghini never started out as a car company. Lamborghini really started making tractors. Afterwards, Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted to make helicopters, but the government would not give him a license. So he turned his attention to cars. So in 1963, he bought a shop in Sant' Agata. Then in 1964, the cars started shipping out in which the legend was born. In doing so, Lamborghini has celebrated 50 years in America last year in New York. And with that, the very first Lamborghini made was the 1963, '64 350 GTV.

EDIT: Messed up on something. Although Lamborghini has celebrated 50 years, they didn't celebrate in New York. They did a show at Lamborghini Headquarters in Italy. It was Ferrari that was celebrating 50 years in America.

Your right! I forgot about that! I've always heard the story as Ferruccio wanting to complain to Enzo Ferrari about his cars, but Enzo refused to see him. Lamborghini then swore that he could make a better car and did. The version I've heard does sound more like folklore though.

I think Ferruccio was wanting to see about a deal or something, but Enzo saw him as a rival in the car market.

That's why i Said "That would make sense" I meant that it seemed odd that enzo would put down a rich customer and that your explanation of enzo seeing him as a rival fit the story better. Sorry for not being clear.

Ferruccio was a wealthy Ferrari customer, who made his money making tractors. He fell out with Enzo over something-or-other (these latin types!) and decided that he could make better cars than Ferrari could - so he did.

RUF is still basically, a high powered Porsche. They get the chassis, and the make there own type of Porsche.

Take this for example.

The 2001 RUF R Turbo is a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo with the following mods.
~Custom RUF exhaust-4 exhaust pipes with the outer two opening above 75MPH.
~Increased boost pressure.
~Turbo Body exhchanged for narrow-body with internal steel roll-cage.
~Lowered ride height
~Custom rear and front spoilers
~RUF wheel arches and air intake.
~Recaro bucket seats
~Deleted Rear Seats
~Carbon-Fiber hood
Wrong, the turbo's are different, not the same but with increased pressure.
Also the ride hight is lower, but it's a new suspension setup.
On top of that, the eiter interior is new as are the brakes. Basically the only original parts are some of the body panels. They look similar, but they are not the same, and they are not Porsches.

well thats what you got :), you can't use a tuner without the licese for the cars they are tuning, for Ruf PD don't need a Porsche license as Ruf's are registered as Ruf's not Porsches, a Techart whatever is registered as the car that was tuned, not as a techart ect.

Ok, everyone thinks the 3400S is based on the Boxster. BUT, the 3600S is a faster model of the 3400S right?
Well get this...
THe 3600S IS ACTUALLY A 2002 Porsche Boxster.
Mods over Boxster...
~Engine swapped with 911's 3.6 liter flat-6.
~GT3 center radiation.
~RUF exhaust system.
~RUF intake systems.
~Reprogrammed ECU
~Lowering of 22mm in front and 10mm in rear.
~RUF uprated springs and damper.
~235/35ZR19 front and 275/30ZR19 rear tires.
~RUF 5-spoke alloy wheels.

SO, if the 3400S isn't a Boxster, and the 3600S is a faster model than the 3400S, and the 3600S is based off the Boxster, then wouldn't that confirm the 3400S is practically a Boxster that has had some mods?

Other models
The RUF RGT RS is the tuned model of the Porsche GT3 RS model
The RUF R-Turbo is the tuned model of the Porsche 911 Turbo
The RUF RGT (in GT3) is actually based off a Porsche 996 coupe model.
RUF's RCT Evo model is based off the 1991 Porsche 964 Turbo
RUF BTR model was for Porsche 993 Carrera owners.
AND the RUF 3400S is indeed a Boxster with more HP, faster, and better specs.
NOw the RUF R Turbo is one of thier own models based on a POrsche chassis.

SO, RUF's cars are built on Porsche Chassis'.
BTW, The RUF R Turbo, and Turbo R are 2 entirely different models.

Direct from the website as I stated above, alot of the models are based off Porsche's.

AND tell me why the cars are based so much on Porsche's YET they are not Porsche's? Even tons of car sites have confirmed RUF as a tuner. How come RUF takes Porsche chassis' and build over them?

Even Porsche has said that RUF takes alot of their cars.
RUF CONSIDERS ITSELF as a independent maunfacturer. MEANING they only think of themselves as one, but it does not mean they are one. Those specs are the MODS for a 911 Turbo. A 911 Turbo was taken, had those items installed, and became a RUF R-Turbo.

Ruf is recognized by German Law as an auto manufacturer.

Ok, 1st off. Ferruccio did not start building Lamborghini's because he vowed to make a better car.
He actually turned his attention to building cars after the Italian Government refused to give him a license to build helicopters. He bought a shop iin 1963, and in 1964 rolled out his frist model, the 350 GTV.

But you are right about the wealthy part. He became wealthy cause tractors were in desperate need in Italy, so he he turned WWII trucks into them, and made money off them.

Ruf is recognized by German Law as an auto manufacturer.

But Porsche has also believed them to be a Tuner for their cars. The 911 Turbo being turned into a R-Turbo specs are correct.

There is not a chance in hell that Lamborghini makes better cars than Ferrari. Well, not now, anyway. True, the first Lamborghinis were pretty amazing, but it cannot be said truthfully today. Though, this is not Ferruccio's fault.

Agreed. And I have posted how Ferruccio got into Lamborghini.

My statement might have been a sweeping generalisation, but over the years Lamborghini have made better* cars than Ferrari's rival model. ie the Gallardo is a finer car than the 360 Modena etc.

* when it comes to supercars the word 'better' is a lot more of an individuals opinion. This is because the manufactures don't make 'rival' models that can justify a straight comparison.

As for the history, both stories are correct, try this link

Yes it is. But you see, that's why he vowed to make a better car. He had problems with one of Enzo's cars.
