Okay, so yesterday, I posted a thread very similar to this but about the Nurburgring 4 hours.
The BMW M3 was great to drive and I won by less than 3 seconds, competitive till the end :D
The M3 was also underpowered and overweight compared to the other competitors, but still a great race.
Unfortunately, whilst 1 hour into the race, I temporarily paused it to drink water, but then restarted it :ouch:
No matter, the more practice the better!

Anyways, onto this thread.
What is the best car to enjoy the Tsukuba 9 hours event?
I plan on doing this in a few days.
This circuit is very simple in comparison to the Nurburgring V layout.
Also, from the list, the hardest opponent will be a 616 BHP - 1120kg - Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo.
So, best car to enjoy the Tsukuba 9 hours race?
I need it to be competitive, so not a car that will blow everyone away, and I don't want a car that will leave me last after the first corner.
Also, a Premium car would be preferred.

X1 2010, drive for 5 hours leave car for 4 hours. BAM! nine hours done in 5

I was thinking of doing it with the 458 Italia, but I ended up doing it with the Redbull X1 while watching Seinfeld.

However, I think with the 458 Italia it would be a good race. 562 BHP and 1400+ KG.

Wait what???
Have you calculated this or something?
But I'll still have to leave my PS3 on for 9 hours, may as well make the most of it.
So car suggestions for an enjoyable and competitive race?

I tend to do it in a high powered drift-setup car. I start by running a stint on slicks and build up a lap or two lead just doing fast grip racing, then i switch to rubbish tyres and drift a stint, then back to slicks, alternate until the end :D It's great fun as I have to be REALLY on it during the sessions of grip driving just to build enough of a lead up which I will then completely lose during the drift session.

Or as above, do it in the X1, drive for five hours, leave it alone for 4, come back and finish, job done :)

the title of this thread should really be "what is the best car to enjoy the start of the tsukuba 9 hours?"
after a few hours, chances are u will not be enjoying it.

It's endurance racing dude!

a Super GT car. does not make out which one. those are fun to drive

Does not make out which one?
What do you mean by that?

What's the opposition class? I remember in GT4 I did this race with a Lotus Elan for 200pts (the last time I did it anyway) and managed to complete exactly 500 laps, however it was probably the dullest race I have ever had. Will be looking for more of a challenge this time I guess. Can't see the enjoyment in using an X1 besides the time you can spend idling, prefer to do the complete race without that.

Wedsport Celica GT300

It's only got 300hp, but with the racing hard tyres and full downforce its a really close race till the end.

I thought that it would be nice to have a title which was similar to yesterday's one.
I enjoyed the Mazda Roadster event for some very strange reason.
I went into a trance and started setting some very fast lap times.

I posted the hardest AI in the OP.
There's no point in using the X1, I'll have to leave the PS3 on for 9 hour regardless, so I my as well learn something and gain experience.

Wedsport Celica GT300

Premium?
Or will I have to power refresh UCD again...

yeh but this race goes on for more than double that. i personally just like to use the best car and get it done quicker. but in races like this u need to do an amount of time regardless

Which is why it's important to use a car that will keep the race competitive and will be a joy to drive.
Otherwise you could very easily doze off.

Would anyone want a really close race where you might lose and have to repeat it? I wouldn't. Overpowered all the way for me, you can try and lap them 100 times which keeps you awake.

I prefer it that way, keeps you awake.
Nurburgring 4 hours went pretty well, the biggest lead I got was 7 seconds before my tyres wore out.
I won by a small margin but a memorable race nonetheless.

a serious suggestion then. the ARTA NSX 06' super gt car. that would make a gd race

I agree with a SuperGT car, or a JGTC500 should suffice though the Amuse will leave you on the straights.

I personally plan to do it in my Stealth NSX (pre-order bonus car). I like that chassis refresh and engine rebuild are 500cr each :)

the guy who gave u that car must have spent a lot of money on it. he must want his money to go to good use. :)

I have the stealth and chromeline cars too.
But I'm afraid that it will leave everyone for dead.

I'm currently loving the car, a fantastic noise!
And it handles so well.

I'm stuck between the Nissan Super GTs, the Honda Super GTs and the Toyota Super GTs.
Anyone with past experience in these cars have any suggestions?

Yes, that is how I prefer it. I'm not in a sprint to finish the game. If I have a great time doing the race with an enjoyable car, and I finish second, then I'll find another car to do the race in and again, enjoy it. If I take the X1 to the race, it will be easier and perhaps "quicker", since you can pull over about halfway through, but it still will not be enjoyable. More of a chore. And that is not what I try to get out of this game.

To the OP, thanks for doing these threads because I'm right behind you and I will be doing these races soon too so the suggestions are helping me out as well. I'm like you in the sense that I prefer to have close, competitive races with cars that are fun to drive.

No problem, here's a link to the Nurburgring 4 hour race thread if you missed it:

Its a Used car, but other GT300's can be used.

Infact there are 4 premium GT300 cars

Cusco Subaru

Lexus IS200?

Aneyima (sp?) Rx-7

ASL guayira (sp?)

all of them are capable of having a good race with.

Yea, I think I might go with the Falken GTR for the one on the Ring, since I've been having it and never used it yet. Another member talked so good about it. I just won't get a chance to do these events until the weekend probably.

If you use a BMW M3, like I did.
Tune it fully, and all the aero parts.
Change the oil.
The racing will be competitive and you'll still be in an underpowered and overweight car. It also seems fitting to have a BMW at the Nurburgring.

Anyways, can anyone answer my above question?

I'm up against an amuse with over 600 BHP...
