what is the best time to start a 24hour nurb

It depends how you live in terms of time. But since you can suspend the race, you have no worries piling the electric bill costs or your PS3 exploding into smithereens.

Lol I have done the 24hr le mans with a friend but got real tired as we started it at like 7 in evening just wanted some advice from peoples experience

For me, I would start off pretty early in the morning, and try to cover some time - maybe like 2-4 hours, perhaps more - daily.

Before anyone jumps down my throat, i am not bumping as i am contributing something new and relevant to the discussion!

Personally, i prefer having an early Friday night and starting at 7am on a Saturday morning, only pausing for bathroom breaks and the re-filling of water bottles. Staying hydrated helps me think clearly...And besides, it's hot here in summer and i don't have air conditioning. This also adds to the realism of driving in hot racing cars.

I keep going through the night (in-game that is) till i see the what looks like the start of morning twilight at approx 12:30 total race time or there-abouts.

By this time, i'm starving and enjoy a welcome break. That's enough for one day and i can have something to eat, watch some tv and unwind before a good night's sleep. I don't use the suspend feature at all: I will not risk incurring a glitch.

Daylight wakes me up. Then, starting around 8am after a couple of coffees, i can simply finish the race off the very next day. To me, it adds a nice touch starting Sunday morning in the dark (again in-game) as twilight grows and the sun rises. As the hours pass, the closer i get to finishing, the more desperately i just want to finish it off. (I hate leaving things unfinished!)

By Sunday evening between 9-10pm, i complete it and celebrate my success with a couple of beers. To me, given most people have time constraints during the week, it makes the most sense to dedicate a whole weekend to it and get it over and done with.

No bumping!!! Im kidding good time to start gives you your weekend to complete all at once or spread it over a couple of days.

Hahaa... Yeah, it makes perfect sense to me! And my idea of lunch is an apple!?

I'm not one of those who gets bored after 4 hours. When i'm in the zone, i'm fully enjoying every factor of the experience. It's also interesting to find out after how many laps the leading AI pit in. By taking note of this, i can determine which lap a certain AI will pit. (There's no point in taking unnecessary risk in trying to pass a certain LMP AI when they're about to pit anyway.) Knowledge is Power. :sly: I don't use anything overly-powerful to see how many laps i can win by...That would be boring! I choose an LMP car with a PP close to the opposition so i really need to earn the lead over a few hours and and win properly.

It would be good if i could manage the whole 24 HRS with no sleep and sinc the time of day/night with the real sun...That would be wild! But if, like me, you've started making mistakes the night before, it's amazing how much of a difference a good night's sleep can make. Given that fatigue is a major cause of mistakes, you need the half-way break really...Well i think so anyway.

Cheers. :)

Absolutely! I think the races start somewhere between 3-4pm. It gets dark during the 5th hour and the sun rises during the 13th hour.

I watch Le Mans every year and they often remark that it's at this stage of the race when fatigue can really sink in...They go from being elated that they made it through the night to realizing that they still have 10 more hours to go!? *yawn* :indiff:

That's another reason, i do this stage of a 24 HR race on a Sunday morning.

Ill have to give it a try.

I tend to start them around 1-2pm. That gives me time so the sun goes down around when the sun goes down here.
