For car tickets, what is the difference in car ticket color? I see people in the marketplace saying they have certain cars in green ticket form. I get that, but I also have a white ticket. What is the significance, any?

I think it identifies the color of the car. EX, a yellow (car name here) tickets will give you a yellow (car name here).

A Green Ticket of a car is an UNOPENED ticket.

A White Ticket of a car means the ticket has been OPENED and the car was then gifted from the garage. This could mean the car could have been added with tuning parts, switched or driven. But a white ticket can also be mint 0/0/0 (Switches/Miles/Wins).

A Greeen ticket is guaranteed to be mint 0/0/0, while a White Ticket sometimes can be non-mint condition.

The color of the car is shown on the ticket in a small square, but we can't see the Name of the Paint unless it's opened and displayed in the garage.

Same car, same paint, same 0/0/0 stats. One is sent as ticket form, the other is sent from the garage.

And do not pay attention to the GTLife Community Gift Receive Screen ticket color, it always shows a Green ticket as white. But merely cosmetics, the actual ticket color is unharmed.

I believe green tickets are almost 99% of the time prize cars as well. Only ones I can think that weren't are the S' Vettel X1 given away for Vettel winning the championship this year, the GTR Special which is arguably a prize car, and not sure but maybe the 370Z Academy when it was first released, again arguably a prize car. And finding a green ticket 370Z may as well be next to impossible.

EDIT: Just remembered the Toyota FT86 concept 2 and the GT86 that were given at downloading of 2.02. Maybe a green ticket of the GT86 will be worth something since now it'd only be available through the NCD 💡 Doubtful

I agree. But to get the free 86GT, just restore your pre-2.02 game save and start it up. You'll get a green ticket for it. Start collecting all colors now. :)

How could you test the car and re-put it on the ticket?

Well, the dirty little open secret what most serious car traders here know is,

  • After receiving a car ticket, backup/copy your gamesave to a USB drive first!
  • Open the ticket and thrash the car. Take some pictures as evidence.
  • When satisfied, reload the gamesave FROM USB to still have the ticket.
There are variations to the above theme, but I'm sure you can figure it out. :)
