I think that anyone with a 1000 posts and no premium should be able to scrape together $12.(I didn't set my number lower because I've been slack in paying for this service.) Support the Planet and your fellow GTPlaneteers. .

Are you are saying of the paid members, only the paid members with over 1000 posts can join? If you are suggesting no payment should be involved that would be pointless.

I have a tavern nearby that has a huge VIP sign over it but it stands for Village Idiots Pub.

As well, V.I.P could stand for many, many, many other things . . . like Very Insecure Posters.

Visiting countless fora, I have found that he and his team work very diligently to develop a site that would be satisfying to people around the world, in terms of decency, efficiency of information dissemination, and so many other factors of entertainment and personal fulfillment - the reasons for visiting a forum anyway.

3 cents (and a fraction) a day is what he asks from some of us to help maintain that service. The incentives given to paying members are really not the main reason that most members pay. I believe their motives are mostly altruistic. This is merely the admins way (IMHO) of acknowledging that gesture.

The need for premium-paying members in big sites-forums like this one is clear and well understood.The need to name the sub forum V.I.P is not.You can tell everybody that V.I.P may stand for something else than Very Important People all you want,but in the end of the day we all know the advertisement psychology behind that name.For the last time in this thread,I'll say that picking that name for that sub forum was unfortunate.If it ever changes I'll become a premium member,for sure.I love gtplanet and I want to support ._

It's a smart marketing ploy. Dangle a visible example of what the user is 'missing' out on adds incentive for that person to pay just to see what's behind those closed, but visible doors.

You would be disappointed, babes yes, no nips or 'special' parts though.

The best part of the premium rooms is the ability to talk complete and utter rubbish without the fear of getting modded, mocked yes but it stays up. There are some right characters as well, if you wondered why lots of people all had the same avatar and things a few weeks ago, that all started in there.

That sort of statement should not be given by crew's member, isn't? Depreciates, in some sort, a good part of audience, those how not have a paid account. Although not money contributors, the numbers of viewers is what keeps ads published in this site, and I may suppose that some money possibly came by it.
Anyway, if a premium account can help develop a more stable android app,
I will sign for sure.

Huh? AUP still applies (and is enforced) and while it is more relaxed I don't recall much "utter rubbish". Much much more of that going on around here (GT5 section in general).

Moderating in the infield doesn't really happen (as far as I can see) because it is never really needed, I imagine thats why a Administrator (like Famine) can enjoy the forum more than the high workload areas like the general GT5 sections.

What I mean is, the going off on a tangent posts which are amusing. These are not all necessarily in the gt5 game thread, I'm thinking off the announcements thread and similar.

Feel free to interpret it any way you like, but since I've gone on record previously to say that members should not imagine there to be a "them and us" demarcation between even the staff and regular members (we are members first, staff second) that makes us better, interpreting it as I like people who stump up the cost of a beer to browse the internets more than those who don't is inaccurate.

Actually, assumptions were not require to understand the situation by me shown, also no line of demarcation was quoted by me, which is quite silly to imagine the existence of it, for such matter ( the forum, per se).
But I have to state that this thread opened my eyes for some solutions, taking a premium account can be a way to find better issues and support a good cause. Thank you OP, for that.
