For example:

Why are the edges of the taillights so rough looking in this pic? I am saving directly to my Kingston 256mb flash drive, and using "Superfine" resolution.

The car textures just aren't meant to be viewed that close, it has nothing to do with the Photo Mode options. AFAIK, the Photo Mode options affect the compression and size of your photos, but it doesn't alter the resolution of any of the textures in the composition. It's just like looking at an 800 x 600 image at 200% on the computer; you're going to see the individual pixels a lot more. There's no solution other than staying a certain distance away from the cars in PM.

I've noticed some cars pixelate a lot worse than others when viewed that close. The LeMans cars seem to have much better detail for extreme close-up than say a Honda Civic.

i had more of that car in the same angle and always there were pixels around the front window!!!

but perhaps it´s just i saved it FIRST on Memory card and then transferred to USB!
 
no... its the car itself, they didnt AA the textures and are extremely pixelated...
technically what i can guess is that GT4 uses a clear layer which is low quality, meaning its very pixelated looking, and they use this to make the edges and such on the cars to not waste space and processing power.

and actualy, that WRX brake light is above the rest of the car just a tiny bit, so really its just a small resolutioned texture sitting above the car

its more obvious on some cars, RX8 is just terrible looking texture wise.. its a disapointment, but you must understand you can only fit so many things on 1 single CD


and it has nothing to do with "super-fine" "fine" "poor" resolutions.
all that is; is:
1600 x 1200 res.
1204 x 760 res.
800 x 600 res.
