With the options I was given, the MR-2 is most bad ass (: I'm actually looking for one to purchase. I'm pretty picky though, so it has to be in really good shape. Anyone have leads?

I think a Skyline GT-R is more bad-ass than an MR-2... but i'd choose the Integra R, simply because it's my ride, though mine's a 98...

Sorry, but Skylines aren't imported here. And of couse you couldn't put '93-'95 RX-7 on the list could you....

Yes they are, Motorex imports them... they are situated in California, and they are 50 states legal, but not Canada legal... :(

Really?????? I had the impression that you can register anything legal in the states.... May just need an inspection....

I reluctanly voted for the MR2.....

@LoudMusic
There is one here in Calgary for sale, but that would be a pretty long drive...

There are always lots of non turbos, but you probably want a turbo one...

I read they had to crash test 5 or 6 to homologate them, then they have to change a few things... and you're ready!

Of course, there's always the good old trick: Get a S15 Silvia, get it over here, register it has a 240SX, don't tell anyone...

you can do the same thing for an old WRX STi, or even a Lancer EVO (registered as a Mirage...)

but those aren't really legal...

And that's news to me. What else do they import?

To tell the truth, that's not much of a list.

First, the idea that import cars can only be not-from-America is incorrect. It depends on where you're reading from. Somebody from Ireland might say that a Chevrolet Corvette is his/her favorite "Imported car" - so really, it's not a very good classification.

But if you're talking about just cars imported from other countries into America, it's still not much of a list.

Consider that in the last fifty years, literally hundreds of imported makes have been sold in the USA and thousands and thousands of models, from Skoda 1000MB's to Citroën Traction Avants to Fiat 600's to Yugos to Mazda 808's.

Somehow trying to say "What's you're favorite imported car ever" and giving eight choices of Japanese cars from the last five years seems rather narrow minded to me.

What's my favorite? I don't have just one - but it certainly isn't on the list. Citroën DS? Fiat 128? Facel-Vega Excellance? Lancia Flavia Zagato? Couldn't say for sure.

Yeah, pretty much. The turbo has a better look to it somehow ... might have just been the ones I was looking at.

On that list, the Supra!

But, if your wanna be practical, the MR-2 is best car for your money.

That's pretty much my reasoning. I could get a used `95 MR-2 and still have money for my brand new RX-8 next year (: The MR-2 is just one of the best looking/performing cars in the list. It's definitly a head turner. I mean, what other cars can you think of that have that kind of styling?

TRUE TRUE TRUE :fdevil:

I'm in love with 3rd gen. RX7's, but it wasn't on there, so I went for the skyline. I say the skyline and the supra would be two top contenders, but I don't really know much about skylines other than what I've learned from GT and a magazine here and there. Where else can you find that kind of styling, (MR2), howabout in a ferrari :) The supra takes it in handling too.. (depending on what aspect of handling you are comming from I guess)
peace,
