Lets have some positive comments on the game as lots of people picking it apart- What is your favourite thing you have found or enjoyed about the game so far having had a few days on it.

Mine is I just had an awesome race with the Z4 Gt3 at Snetterton over many laps with weather changing 3 x over the course in helmet cam..That engine sound, cockpit detail and view and the great AI (only 80%)!:D was unbelievable and worth my money alone. I have tried all the tracks now and preferring the UK tracks and Monza/Road America to test the cars power.

Oh and I am so glad we finally have a PS4 console real sim game:gtpflag: to play along side arcade games-Remember most of the bugs and glitches will all get fixed and the game will only get better over the next year...

What the OP said about having a real sim game on PS4 finally. It truly is the only reason I bought the console (although I'll also be playing on PC).

They will. This release is the start of this franchise and is is a strong start, because the core of what PCars defines is there and it is good and well recieved. SMS is Publisher and Developer at the same time, they have no incentive whatsoever to stop what they did over the past 3,5yrs: Fix bugs, introduce new features and content, give answers to the community.

What i most like about the game is the whole seat of pants feeling when driving a car. I never had to use the guiding line to figure out braking points or the optimal driving line. Every time i spin off the track i know exactly what happened and that is was my fault.

i love how you can feel the weight of the cars, all through FFB. you get to really appreciate the differences between them, and so far every car i've tried has been completely drivable. sure, i often tune a bit to correct the understeer (mostly), but after that's done they feel great. one of the things i was most looking forward after coming from Driveclub was a roster of cars that were all good to drive, not just one or two and the rest would be avoided. this is what makes the 'small' list of cars great.

although i will say the BAC mono is a bit of an oversteery handful at the mo, but i'll get there.

If you don't mind me asking, I'm Quite the novice when it comes to this stuff. But what did you change to sort the understeer? I'm also using a Wheel.

well I'm no expert but I firstly change the tire pressures. read the descriptions, adjust the ones necessary to counteract under & oversteer. I think you lower the front ones to balance under steer. if you lower them too much they'll overheat very quickly and you'll lock up a lot in the race, so small amounts. not every tuning option is available to every car though, so one rule doesn't apply to all, but tires are always adjustable.

also tweak your steering ratio. try it default, then crank it one way and the other, see which feels like it's making the biggest difference to turning. can't recall if I do anything else of the top of my head, it's all baby steps for now as learning tracks and so on. but tire pressure is a good starting point I'd say.

Another thing you can do is to make the rear ARB stiffer. The Car instantly becomes more tailhappy that way. Also, for good sideways action, change to harder tire compounds or street tires (depending on the car). Especially the Hypercars are much more fun to drive using the Pirelli P Zero Tires instead of the Corsa or even Trofeo (R).

My favorite thing about the game: Threads such as this one. Seeing that so many people enjoy something you have worked on hard for 3.5 years is an amazing feeling! :gtpflag:

PS @Zakspeed_TV : Wot, you didnt drive the Escort yet?! Get outta here! :D

You know what mate i haven't even been it in yet, been to busy in GT3 👍

My MK2 escort is making me pay for my sins right now, fitting a fuel regulator and it not goin well, my hands are soaked in petrol as im typing

But yes love the game mate and a big thanks to you and all involved 👍
And i promise i will jump in the MK1 as soon as i get back on it :)

Changing conditions. I realized that in other racing games/sims, lapping around can get repetitive after a while because the circuit more or less always looks the same. Here the lighting, time of day and weather are so magnificently done that it keeps things fresh and it gives you the feeling that you are present on a real living/ breathing track.

And that's aside from the fact that the rest of the game is top notch also.

The feeling of racing. Building these rivalries through a championship and having tough battles on track. It's just a great feeling.

Favourite thing I encountered so far happened during a GT3 race on the Nordschleife. Been driving my favourite car (so far), the Z4 GT3.

Been in third place, right behind the leading Z4 and the R8 LMS in second place. Upon entering the Eschbach corner, the R8 cut inside of the Z4, got carried to the outside and smashed the Z4 off the track, allowing me to go past. Went on to battle the Z4 as night fell! Quite epic. Had to abort the race due to time constraints, though :(

Take out BMW Z4 GT3 at Watkins Glen (after you've adjusted the car's FFB settings of course). You can feel EVERYTHING through FFB. It's the car that probably has the best FFB in the game for me, while still being very fun to drive and competitive with the other GT3 big boys. LOVE IT

I 100% agree with you on that one. I tried the Z4 on Silverstone, it was fantastic, I had to fight with the wheel through Brooklands & Luffield. Whoever designed that needs another pat on the back.

When I completed my first lap on the game, my brain said to me, 'TOCA is back.'

-Helmet Cam, being a cockpit driver, this view really improves the immersion...I love it!
Love that i can hide the actual helmet, and use it as a cockpit cam that has the look to apex function 👍
After experiencing this i can't go back to the normal fixed cam, as it's way too static and a lot of the times you just have to guess where the curbstones are on a single screen.

My favourite thing since leaving PC gaming a few years back, nice to have a console game with decent physics that actually feels relatable to real life, because GT never did, to me. Each to their own though..

that's exactly what i do. don't even use the blur effect. i'm actually sick of messing around with the FOV now, used all sorts of settings, now settled on 75 i think. although i have mapped my chair controls to the d-pad so can manually move back and forth and even raise the seat up if i'm having trouble seeing corners. i love that we can do this!

The reflections in the Caterham headlamps.

Refelections of air vents on windscreen.

Dirt on the helmet visor.

When the AI crash into a marker sign and it comes down like snow hehe.

Seeing the pack of cars in the distance on the uphill bit at Donnington.
