What is your greatest overtaking move on/offline?

Mine was on the nurburgring when I flew round the outside at the left hander at the end of the straight at 200+ mph. Hearing his voice on the mic made it even more sweet as I won the race in style!

So whats yours?
 
Nice one, mine was sorta like that but more like Alonso and schumacher at susuka's 130r if you watch F1.
Im suprise you didnt take his front off there lol
 
Well the best one I ever seen online was not done by me, but to me. It was a 5 lap race on Laguna Seca, I was in the TOMS Supra, he was in the orange and white supra, I was leadin all five laps when we reached the corkskrew he was right beside me from draftin me up the hill. He was on the inside for the first corner and I let him have room, we are still side by side no bumps, 2nd turn he let me have room as I was on the inside, anyways comin out of the turns we was still side by side, but I gave it a little to mucg gas a little to early, my car did a 180 faster then I could blink. I just sat there lookin backwards and watched him ride off into the sunset.
 
Last staright of the Nurburgring in a 3 person race.

Close back and forth battle with me and 2nd the whole race in rally Focus and something else small and race modded.

I am ahead going into the last straight but know that the draft is gonig to benefit the guy behind so take the last corner badly on purpose to let him get ahead of me and quickly tuck in behind for the draft.

He see's this and starts to put on a swerve to dodge the draft, I am trying to keep at least some of the draft going and it's working until we start heading up the last straight and I am about to pull past him but it's dangerous...

I try to underbrake going into the first shallow turn up the hill and get some tires on the grass, with tire wear and realistic grip reduction I loose control and start to spin out at high speed.

I am flying along in the correct general direction steering back and forth as fast as I can on my wheel to try and maintain speed but get pointed in the right direction and as we come towards the sharper turns (sorry I don't know all these names) I miraculously see him right in my field of view, my car wraps around him while doing out of control donuts like Ken Block around a barrel and I managed to scrub off enough speed and hit the tarmac pointing the direction I need to go in low gear with the wheels spinning and power out ahead for a about a .7 sec win (remember .7 is quite close considering the final low speed turns in NRB).

It was epic.
 
Mine was when I was in my Corvette, i was taking an inside turn and i passed a guy on my right then a split second after that, i passed a guy on my left, and hit the straightaway...it was as smooth as pie.
 
It was a 2 lap race of the nurburgring online in stock lotus elise's. two of us had made a good breakaway and were about 15 seconds ahead of the pack, for the entire 2 laps we had kicked the lead back and forward it was super close when we get to the final long straight.

Comming onto the back straight he overtakes me, I slide into his draft and overtake him, he slipstreams me and overtakes me. I slip stream him, hold it going up the hill and then overtake him just at the crest before flying away to victory. one of the best races to date I have had online.
 
Was racing on Trial Mountain in my lime green LFA in 3rd place, and (as usual) cut the chicane at the end (I normally don't cut tracks, but when everyone else does, I make an exception), hit the hill, went onto 2 wheels while next to 2nd place, floored it and finished in 2nd.

All I could say was "epic pass"...even the guy I beat agreed!
 
Oh one other one... HSR with 600pp.

It's a field of tuned GTRs and Z06s mostly with a few other cars... probably 10 or so.

We are all racing clean and fast and having a blast and me in my GTR and a guy in his Vette have had some problems at the back of the pack but broke away and are rapidly gaining on the leaders.

I come through the final sweeping turn poorly and he gets ahead of me on the straight. We are fairly equally matched at the high end and there is 2nd place few hundred yars out.

I draft off him get up to speed and just as I am about to make my move and overtake, he brakes off to the right revealing that we are running up on second like nobodys business.

I do not know what second was doing but we were easily 20mph faster at this point.

So he peels off to the right, I see the back end of (I think a Zonda) coming at me fast and I peel off to the left at darn near top speed (I am going to guess around 240 or so, don't recall but it was fast) and we blow the doors off that car by inches on both sides and proceed to hold it two wide evenly through to the bridge...

We were both laughing hysterically as we flew by the second place guy like he was sitting still.
 
Happened today actually. Was racing at Laguna Seca in a friends lounge. The host and I had pulled really far away from the rest of the guys. I was driving a Z06 RM and the host was in the BMW McLaren F1.

For most of the race I was in second place, trying to keep a consistant lap time. The race was set for 10 laps, so there wasn't any pit strategy or whatever.

Around lap 5 or so I took the lead but the next lap I came into the Andretti hairpin a little too hot and came off the track and dropped back to 2nd, where I stayed until the final lap.

Last lap was particularly dicey, maybe 2 seconds behind. The host and I were both getting a bit lose on the exits of turns but I was driving a bit quicker and was on his tail to overtake by turn 5. But I slid off into the grass and I thought it was over. After I recover the host keeps pushing his F1 on bad tires. There was about a second gap now and I try and drive as fast as possible within my Corvette's deteriorating limits.

Through the corkscrew and turns 9 and 10 the F1 is sliding and losing a lot of speed. I keep things managable and coming up on turn 11 there is maybe a .5 second gap. The F1 goes in too hot and goes off the track and I maintain control and overtake the F1 on the exit for the win.

It was my first online race and it was by far the most exciting driving I had experienced in GT5. Will have to try more.
 
Corner before final Chicane at trial mountain. Both in Corvette z06's with no TCS. He decided to play the corner safe without wheel spin, i floored it and drifted around the outside of him :)
 
Taking the inside corner with my opponent right beside me. They ended up hitting me and they lost a lot of speed and went off the track.

Hey, it's their fault they turned so tight, knowing that I was on the inside...
 
Nice replies guys, i also have another one where i flew up the inside of some guy on the nurburgring.
It was the sweeping right hander before the long straight leading down to the karrussel and he was about 6 car lengths ahead due to a mistake I made a few ckrners earlier.
Anyway, he started braking at the normal distance but i however completely ignored normality and flew up the inside overtaking him by a matter of inches to spare. No idea how i didnt fly off the track lol.
 
I was spun out the lead of a NASCAR race, fought back and 5 laps later... got a ridiculous bump through the tri-oval... 235 mph 5 wide coming through! From 8th to 1st in 2 seconds... The guy in the Home Depot Camry alongside backed out like 40mph when he saw me go by.

What was so funny was that afterwards everyone fell into single-line, but not before spinning me out...
 
I once managed to overtake 2 guys on the Karusell, cleanly. Was pretty exhilarating because it was 3-wide, trying not to hit each other or the wall:nervous:
 
My Fave moment was a Kart race, but I forget the track. Basically it was A 5 lapper but me and this other guy broke away first turn with him being in the Lead. So for 4 laps I tailed the guys bumper only going at 70% because for one didn't want to crash, but also because I wanted to give the guy a false sense that he was Faster than me. So on the Final Lap I go 99.999% and since I tailed dude for 4 laps, I knew what he could do, but he had Zero idea of my ability nor could he adjust in 1 lap to my increased pace. After I passed him he spun out trying to keep up. I learned That Manuever on Intial D. No joke!

I did that aswell, one guy went wide and had to go round the outside and i came up the inside and held it in the banking to
Go past, it was pretty cool :)
 
It was the corner just before the straight on Nordschleife, 1st, 2nd and 3rd within 10 meters of eachother. Turning onto the straight, I ****ed up, falling behind the other two. One was on the left, one was on the right, with a little less than a cars width between them. One of them moves up a bit, I floor it, and weave my way into that gap and past the guy in 1st. I regret I didn't save the replay, it was epic. I was in a ZR1 RM, they were in GTR's and I think it was a 430?
 
Offline. Nissan Z Seasonal Race at Madrid. Passed 3 cars in one corner (the carousel corner) in what can best be described as a turning slalom. Passed the NSX on the outside, Aristo on the inside, and then the Lancer Evolution on the outside without touching the wall or any of the other cars.
 
In karting, on the 1 lap races on Monaco coming into the chicane after the tunnel, I start in the back and then use the handbrake. I pass like 5 or 6 people. Its insane!
Just like IRL, everyones like wholly s***, how the he'll did you do that?
 
Last lap of a 30 lap kart race on Autumn Ring with other GTPlanet-ers. I was battling Camikaze the whole race and I drafted past him along the outside of the final corner, he goes to draft past me and we are neck and neck at the line. I won by one-thousandth of a second.:D

mine a bit like that but i was in a skyline and got a draft of the nomad diablo in front of me then jumped on to him at the little jump before the corner flugpatz he couldn't see any thing so crashed in to a wall throwing me on to the grass i over took the guy but lost 5 places :(
 
Online, Monaco track. Last lap hit a couple of barriers but flew through last section after chicane to be right on his clacker, he went inside to out and I went outside to in passing him without contact. I was over moon.
 
On Suzuka in the Renaultsport Megané; head to head duel around Suzuka rain, and the other guy was coming up on the inside, so I let him have it. So suddenly, in a bid to overtake me, he floors it thinking he's taken the lead; however, I know my FF cars and so I just broke and 'criss-crossed' him, while he understeered into the sand.
 
FGT battle in Monaco, through Massanet to the post tunnel chicane we were trading places.

And then I get the other FGT on the last corner and speed to victory by a hair.

That and probably all the drifting overtakes in the Lamborghini seasonal at trial mountain. Before that hill dip I overtook 2 Murcielagos with a LP560 in a drift. Epic fun.
