What is your most dreaded course?

Tsukuba. Never really liked it much, but 4 hours of it in a Miata on GT5 absolutely killed it for me.

Which is kind of strange, since I wasn't a huge fan of Sarthe until running the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a stock 787B. I have a newfound respect/fear/appreciation for that track now.

Cote D'Azur, Apricot Hill, Tokyo, Suzuka.

Special mention to Tsukuba which is the most hated track till now since GT4. (What's the purpose of that track anyway)?

Never enjoyed driving around these.

Don't know they didn't carry on tracks such as Hong Kong, Costa Di Amalfi, New York etc.

There's a lot of real world circuits that i'm not keen on but I really don't like driving any made-up circuit, they just suck big time and I wish that every single fantasy and city track would be scrapped in favour of more real world circuits. My least favourite of all those fantasy tracks is Trial Mountain, stinks of arcade racer.

Circuit de Francorchamps (whatever its called). Most of its good, but that very last chicane... urgh. You need to be going about 30mph to go around it, when the rest of the track is pretty fast. Also the pits are almost impossible to access.

i cant stand grand valley speedway, i try to like it but its soooooooooooooooooo boring for me :(

I LOVE TRIAL MOUNTAIN, PLEASE PD NEVER GET RID OF THIS TRACK

Good call. Costa Di Amalfi was my absolute favourite track in GT4 (well that one and another one that I can't recall the name of....was an original track in the mountains which had a short curving tunnel as well as a bridge to drive over), I always enjoyed driving New York, though that last chicane always got me...that and the big roundabout at the end of the straight. Can't remember Hong Kong...was it in GT4 or an earlier game?

Edit: The track was called El Capitan...thanks to StealthRocket in another thread for reminding me of it.

According to the Track List in GT-PEDIA, Trial Mountain has appeared in every GT since GT1, so I think it's safe to say it's here to stay. I've only played from GT3 and up though. There was also an interview with Kaz recently where he was asked "Of all the original circuits PD has designed in the GT series, which would you most like to see made into a real world track?"

His answer? Trial Mountain :D

good and thankyou :)

Back in the day (GT3)....I hated anything with sand. Now I find that all these wierdnesses are just the things I want. I love the corkscrew (when I hit it right!) and the Suzuka S-bends (when the gear ratios are right). The 'Ring has become a temple and Spa a playground. Any track can be driven right and with satisfaction. You just got to find the right rhythm. Bring it on PD - if you can draw it, I can drive it!

@thestig11 No problem sir.

Completing the Super GT300 series, I was just now reminded of my complete disdain for Nurb GP/D. The only track I struggle to do well on. Mainly lose time in the tight sections at the first of the lap.

But I still dread Tsukuba more, even though I have no trouble turning in some fairly hot lap times there. Too short (imho) and career mode almost always adds more laps to make up for it.

Ascari, although I wouldn't call it hate, just inexperience. First race I entered at Ascari (last night in fact), I won, first try, by a few car lengths, but it was definitely hairy being at dusk/dawn/whatever the heck it was... I've learned to "love" most of the tracks and I fear none. I guess I have to attribute it to the heaps and heaps and heaps of custom courses I created and drove incessantly in GT5, which were more like Ascari than the less twisty courses we're used to in Gran Turismo.

I will admit I dislike Willow Springs for the most part, due in large part to the over-done "night" used there in the early "night" races, but that's not really the course's fault, it's whomever decided to game us with the ridiculous, over-done, light sucking night-blindness that approaches reality about as closely as calling unicorns and fairies "real". In general, I love the artistic sense of GT's designers, even if I don't say so in posts much (sorry PD's art department...feel the love...) but the emphasis on showing off the night sky at the expense of practical matters like being able to see the road is going a bit too far.

It's funny, I used to hate Suzuka early on, but it's become a favorite for me,. the esses are just a dance of the gears and the suspension... I don't' even bother with brakes... In fact, if you do, you're probably not attacking them right. It's all in the gears. The only place I usually have to hit the brakes is off the main straight, and that's just if I'm coming in a bit hot.

I guess you never took the GT5 AMG driving school seriously then ;-) That 'gave' me the 'Ring and I'm eternally grateful to Kaz for doing that.

Ascari is very annoying, but maybe I need to do more laps to get the hang of it.
Grand Valley Speedway is not bad, but quite boring....
But the worst of all is Tokyo.... man I already get annoyed when I even think about it.

Best of all is the Nürburgring. I also like Apricot Hill Raceway. It reminds me off Circuit Park Zandvoort.

Right now....Ascari, a spiteful little goat track filled with blind turns and no passing room. Big Willow is odd because there are many missing landmarks which help you get thru that track.

hahhaha... (not laughing at you, just your wording... "spiteful little goat track" :p) sounds like you haven't quite got the rhythm down. There are plenty of places to pass, and although I agree that some of the turns are "difficult", it's not so bad if you try to keep your wits about you and fight down the urge to panic-race. (the opponents have to navigate the tough areas too...)

With course creator it will be even better

I loved the AMG special event on GT5. Likewise, it taught me how to get around Nordschliefe (sp?) properly. Finally golding the full wet lap in the SLS AMG with no aids was one of the most rewarding parts of that game for me.

The one i'm referring to though, is the short Grand Prix track, which was not part of the AMG Driving School.

Also I was never a fan of....is it Cape Ring and its hot wheels style track set up......or the Alps tracks (not the new ones) where in a TT if you touch a blade of grass your DQ'd.... The Daytona road course has walls in very wrong places (I'm looking at you Bustop and Infield entry)....leaves you no panic room if you make a mistake and gives the AI or live racers places to rub you off into dead stop barriers

Man I wish they could do Le Mans as it was say mid 60's with the berm/barriers and no actual pit lane and no double chicane before the finish straight. I mean we have some cars from that era, would be nice to get the sights on the track from that time also

I'm just gonna copy/paste my status here because it applies to the thread.
I hate Matterhorn. I hate when it's all nice, with smooth forgiving corners, then just throws a whole bunch of sharp corners at you.

Really? You don't like the rising carousel? That's one of the things I kinda enjoy about Cape ring. Reminds me of my old Aurora and Tyco H.O. race car setups from the late 60s/early 70s... each to his own...
