:) , what kind of a Racing wheel do u , use for gt3?

i can buy a Universal Madcatz Wheel for $69.99

is that a good deal?
 
Me? I use a conventional DS2 Controller with Analog and Manual Transmission. ;)
 
Logitech MOMO Force here. :)

It's quite good actually. ;)

Thats a fair price, I'm usin a Logitech Driving Force, the damn force feedback sucks at times, an the 75% braking power bites too, Logitech has known of both these defects yet will do nothing about it... i race mostly with the Force Feedback unpluged

Paid $50 for mine
 
i can't afford a wheel

so its DS2 with analog for me too! :D

Yep, it does.

I just got gold in S2 on my second try. Never have been able to do that with DS2...

Yeah it does especially when drifting FR cars, and driving F1's. In an F1 with force feedback on pro, and the rear toe angle set to -3 it really makes it feel like you are going very fast since the car becomes unstable at high speeds. This causes the force-feedback to go nuts, you really have to fight to keep the car in control.

At first the F-F feels very unnatural but after a while it all starts to make sense.

oh i have the Wingman, same thing as the driving force but with out the bugs and it's USB. But it was twice as expensive as the driving force.

Very true.
You sure want to avoid F1’s when you’re getting used to the wheel – with the ds2 they seem quite tamed cars, so easy to drive… with a wheel you really get to fill the car and the powerful acceleration - you just can never “sleep” behind the wheel while driving one.
I have a Logitech Driving Force which I think is ok. I don’t like the plastic and the color much but the pedals are quite solid stuff. I don’t really care about the breaks’ alleged problem. I didn’t notice any difference in my driving in that respect and I don’t notice any changes between GT3 and Concept (where it breaks 100%). I mostly use auto I’m afraid (not in RL!) but when I do use manual I change the configure to L1 / R1 instead of the pads and that works fine even when locked in turn.
 
Reading this thread makes me wanna go out and buy a force-feedback wheel . But those stuff are very expensive here ! So , I'll have to continue using my standard PS2 analog controller :)

Not really, depends where you live... Wally World has the cheapest wheel goin, but you get what you pay for too

On the Test Track, its not too bad with a hand held, but when you wanna make clean lines on the road courses a wheel is the ticket, makes for sweet playbacks too

Well I live in Malaysia . Believe me , things aren't cheap here . Especially gaming stuff . PS2 is still considered a luxury item , and buying a force-feedback wheel ... eh . Just expensive .

Is it because of the 75% braking problem ? I'm not sure which wheel it affects , just a thought . I've been hearing alot about this problem.
 
Well...
There are two bad things i can point out for the Logitech Drivin Force:
a) 75% braking problem (this can be solved by undercalibrating the brake pedal a bit)
b) the sudden shaking of the wheel under normal circumstances eg, straight line accceleration, the wheel might shake left and right for no apparent reason (not that i can find anyway)

edit: why do you unplug the power??? it makes the wheel pointless, theres no return in the wheel, so it'll prety much be those really old wheels. Even though theres shaking, as long as you can hold onto the wheel tight enough, it won't shake, and if you plug it is, you can "feel" the road better than just looking at the tv.
 
so should i get the Madcatz Universel Steering Wheel for 69.99 Canadian.. :)
 
its gotta shifter, pedals... steering wheel and compatible with evyerthing.
