just curious what the sort majority of the GT-4 fans are. Trying to understand some of the wishes people have for the game, as well as make sense of some of the strange posts I see...

I bought a playstation because I played a demo of Gran Turismo...

I bought GT2 the day it came out...

The day GT3 came out I bought a PS2 and GT3...

I didn't but concept cos I prefer simulation/GT mode than arcade mode.

I own half of a copy of GT4:Prologue.

I've already pre-ordered GT4.

Reckon that about covers it...

i run a vinyl/livery business and do some bits for stuff like British Touring Car Championship / Seat Cupra Championship etc... so goto most of those events - most recently Silverstone, Oulton Park, Mondello Park.

Also run an owners club for a certain ford warm hatch with over 300 members, we go to plenty of events around the country.

Bought a PS2 because i liked GT2002 on the Xbox but it didnt have the lifespan i wanted - someone mentioned Gran Turismo 4 was coming out, i read all about it and thought 'gotta get me a PS2' so traded in the Xbox and got PS2 with GT3 A spec, still playing that 3 months down the line.

Looking to invest in a wheel for Gt4

I'm 24 and I don't even have my license. :o

That said, I'm more of a Gran Turismo nerd than a car nerd. I still stand by the fact that Gran Turismo 2 is the finest video game ever crafted. Gran Turismo 4 is gonna be amazing though, and will probably steal the crown from GT 2.

Some key choices were lacking in your poll options, where's the one for people with no aspirations of racing in real life but a deep appreciation and love of motorsport regardless?

It say GT entusiast and i think or thought that meant or means Gran turismo. If thats the case then put Gran turismo FREAK on there.

Well as far as the game GT goes I am a total nut, anything with GT on it I usually have to have. But if your meaning real motorsport then I don't particpate in it but I do watch a lot and spectate real events. I yearly spectate the V8 Supercars which is held in my home town, I also spectate in a lot of drifting comps and other Japanese import type events, I also go to most car shows that are on near where I live.

Number four for me, add in a case of social disorder, mental illness, desire to become a wolf, computer nerd and video game addict and you get me.

i own a kart and i take it to the track as often as possible. i´ve been karting for about 20 years now :)
if it says GT on the box i´ve got it!

petrol head through and through. Would love to build a racecar but don't have the space, time, or money. (TOTALLY different from the space time continuum, thanks Doc Brown) but have modded my own car to allow me to break speed limits more efficiently. Currently spending stupid amounts of money on my motorbike to give it the same capability

Have been racing historic racing cars for past 12 years or so on and off, although i let someone else wield the tools!, occasionly do a bit of karting, more than occasionaly play GranTurismo (sometimes TOCA Race Driver) and spend far too much time on these forums when i should be working!

(feel like i'm in A.A. meeting)

agreed... i know i'll probably never race for real in my life... but my love and appreciation of quality motorsport and cars is of the highest calibre :sly:

None of these describe me. I don't modify my daily driver and I don't watch sanctioned motor sports because there are never good races on TV. I see like one race on TV a year that is on a track that isn't a circle/oval or a straight line. I can't get the speed channel. If I ever see an Indy race on with a track that isn't an oval, I watch it. I've never seen a touring car race or road race on TV ever.

I've owned 9 different V8's in the past, and cannot seem to leave any of them "stock".
I belong to a local car club, SVTOA, and SCCA.
I have raced most of my cars at the drag strip for years, then started autocrossing SOLOII events last year. And last month, I drove on my first true road course. What a blast that was!

Let's just forget the poll. The discussion's more interesting but possibly been done before or belongs in another section but I'll let someone else carry that torch for once.
