What kind of headphones do you have? I got my XB 1000's

Why on earth would you listen to anything at full volume with those? On any of my devices, full volume ends up making me rip them from my ears in pain - happens sometimes because I use my phone in my car for music as well.

Well they were fine with my Skullcandy's, which rather ironically, packed up on the way home from HMV.

Penguin, how are the DT250 pads?

On a side note, I love how you've done everything on a budget

The DT250 pads are like little pillows for my ears. Amazing. Wish all my headphones had them.

I am a budget kind of man. I want the best, of what I can afford. So far VERY happy with my little headphone collection.

BTW, small update with the Alessandro MS1. Got a cheap headband cushion and HD414 pads for it.

Very nice!

Just out of curiosity, could you measure the depth of them? I'm thinking about getting a pair because the pleathers on my HFI-580's don't really seal well around my ear and I end up with less bass. Not saying that's a bad thing, just not to my preferences

So I was digging through a drawer in my room, when I came across the best pair of earbuds I've ever lost...or owned. So now when I'm out of the house I'll be using these:

Sony MDR-EX310LP

Got them a long while ago and only had them for a week before I lost them. That was actually when I decided to never go for the more expensive ear buds again. The audio quality is fantastic, though, so glad I found them.

I bet you all love your headphones more now !

Got my ATH-CKM55s. Pleasantly surprised to say the least.

Nice! Good to hear you didn't get those terribly overpriced beats. I convinced a friend of mine to get the XB-500 instead of beats, and he loves the Sony's.

I have the strangely styled but good-sounding Koss PortaPros. I have these pads similar to the ones on the ZX100 that make them sound amazing.

Sennheiser HD202-II
TurtleBeach PX21's
Skull Candy Lowriders
JVC Marshmallow Earphones (cheap but also surprisingly good headphones)

Have:
Sennheiser HD350
Tritton AX180
Sony MDR-AS20J - Active Style

Had:
Apple headphones
Sony Walkman headphones
Shure SCL2

Just got to say, you've got great taste in headphones and cars. Proud owner of a 2001 Miata and those same headphones, with the same pads.

Those look suspiciously much like the ones that came with a cassette Walkman in the mid eighties...

Currently have, and will from now on use regularly, Pinoeer HDJ-1500s.

So far they're amazing. Incredible sound and very comfortable. Not quite as comfy as the XB500s, but they can still be worn for hours.

And they're very good at blocking out other sounds.

Also, they're damn sexy:cool::sly:

For my recent birthday I got a pair of these:

SteelSeries Siberia V2s.

Lot bigger than my previous headphones, sound is a lot more surrounded, and overall they're a good pair definitely. And they're comfy too.

Bose QC3's they have fantastic treble, the bass is a bit on the weak side however I'm a jazz fan, so they are perfect

Recently bought some Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 in ear headphones. Very good, especially at 90 quid.

Hmm, this thread is still alive? haha, my XB's are still going strong, no signs of wearing down, or falling apart. :D

Turtle Beach PX21's, best bang for buck gaming headset. Love them.

I hear they are better than the PX31's, that true?

Never tried the PX31's, so I wouldnt know.

I've had Ultrasone's HFI-580 for a while and I love them. I do field recording as a hobby so having enclosed headphones is really important and the sound is brilliant as well.

For my mp3 player (Rocboxed Sansa Clip+, the best mp3 player I've ever owned, highly recommend it) I have Creative's EP-630 in-ears. These are the best in-ears I've ever used and really cheap too.

Sony MDR-XD200

Outstanding price-to-quality ratio, considering I got these as a gift. :sly:

These weigh in at 222 grams (7.83 oz), not too heavy which is of course nice. The plastic material feels a bit cheap and makes creaking noises (Made in Thailand, what can you expect ). I also like the 3m (10ft) long, thin but tough cord, I've accidentally yanked it pretty hard several times but it's still holding on well. :)

The sound quality is not bad at all and overall sound is well balanced and pleasant for casual music listening and movies, pretty clear treble and reasonable bass. The pleather earpads feel smooth and comfortable, yet they are also durable. Thumbs up to Sony for including a 3.5mm->6.3mm adapter. But I'll be honest here, you could get so much better headphones for the price of these (Sennheiser, AKG, Audio Technica, Superlux).

Sony MDR XB500. More than enough bass, relatively comfortable, and good all-round really. I was originally thinking about getting a pair of Sennheiser HD 202s, but I was assured that the XB500s would be great.

And if I'm not using those, then Samsung Wave S8500s:

I didn't even know what they were exactly, seeing as they just came with my current phone. They're cheap as hell yet surprisingly comfortable, but then I am quite used to wearing earphones on a regular basis. Might need to replace them soon actually.

Sennheiser HD 201

Best headphones i've ever bought.
