The very first thing what impress me with GT1 was the posibility of choise a large amount of "normal" cars, i mind, the car we see in the street, and the posibility of transform that street car in the ultimate race machine (comes to my mind GT1 and 2 the [R] transform) and put it in the large selection of tracks.

Also, the "RPG side" of GT, if is not the first racing game with carrer mode, but the form: licenses(this point is pure GT), credits and experience.

And the music, the music from GT, specialty from the menus is simply awesome.

From i have say before, always i read in this forum, and i respect that, im surprised when people ask for Ferraris, Lambos, Bugattis, while i ask for a Civic '93!!!! and that is GT, the posibility of choise a large amount cars and the posibility of transform that car in the ultimate race machine.

Absolutely. I can go and buy a '93 Civic tomorrow if I wanted to, but I couldn't go and buy a Veyron. So, that's why I would choose such a car, but I can also see why people want to race older cars for nostalgic reasons, or just to race normal everyday cars.

Yes you can buy a Civic `93, and i can buy it thank God, but can you race that Civic in Laguna Seca? or compete with Bugattis, Ferraris. You know. Not misunderstand me, i enjoy supercars like you and everyone but yes is not only nostalgic, also that posibility, of a Civic win over a Enzo (dream)

Btw. i die for see the interior of the Civic in GT5.

Haha, you clearly love your Civic! ;) Of course I can't just go and race it at Laguna Seca - that's why I'm buying the game, to live out all of these combinations! I wonder what you'd need to do to the Civic to make it beat an Enzo?!

The most fun part about the GT series for me was unlocking the surprise cars. Just seeing that black silhouette spinning and slowly coming into focus was always very rewarding. THAT is my favorite part of the series. 👍

I hope that answer comes this year:)

Play Forza 3 and you can find out right now. Engine swap, drivetrain swap, racing slicks, add a turbo or 2 and you will be all set to stomp an Enzo like nothing. :sly:

These forums display how epic gran turismo is for me, think about it how many other game series have unofficial forums as good as ours and with as many members as gtplanet

To me, Gran Turismo is like a work of art, a gift.

I understand why the Master engrosses over this game, especially this one. When I create a piece of music, and make sounds for it, and play and produce it, it comes to life under my hands. I savor every aspect of it. And I hope that everyone enjoys it and drinks it in the way I do.

While I enjoyed racing games before GT came along, it was the first game in which I realized that the maker truly cared for this world he was making, wanted it to come to life, and wanted it to live under our hands. Kazunori sensei loves the universe of the car, the history and legacy and grandeur of motorsports, and wants to put as much of the essence of that universe into Gran Turismo, so that somehow, you experience some of the flavor of what it is to be there and participate in a race.

The touch of a master artist runs all through Gran Turismo games, from the graphics of the interface, how things flow, the menu music, the style... everything is rendered with care and attention to detail. The license tests, the way the "career" progresses from the bottom of the motorsports ladder... everything is oriented to giving you a microcosm of the way things go in real life motorsports, from humble, simple beginnings, to the ultimate in high performance race cars and grueling endurance races. It's even in the way you can tinker with and upgrade a car, collect them, and take pictures of them.

The cars and tracks are rendered with the greatest detail the hardware will allow, and the physics are implemented to mimic real world performance and behavior as best they can make it within the time constraints Kaz and his team work with. Considering all that he has been able to accomplish on more primitive hardware, it's hard to say what won't be in GT5.

Kazunori's dream is to give us an automotive museum, as well as the essence of the world of cars and motorsports, to put as much of that into the form of a game as is humanly possible. I'm certain that he hopes you enjoy every single aspect he puts into GT5, and that you don't find any part of it boring or uninteresting. He hopes that you will understand this love of cars and motorsports, the history of them, and share in the excitement and love that he feels.

I know that I'm going to be very, very grateful for this gift.

the Feel, just everything that factors into making GT feel like ur driving a car. graphics, physics, FFB, Track accuracy. GT3 amazed me on how much different every car was. it was impressive back in the day if a game could differentiate the drive train(cars acting different from fwd -rwd - awd) gt3 took this to a whole knew level. And its been getting better and better with every game

I think OIL changes makes me love GT! As well that after a while the body of the car needs to be aligned again! I think it might be first time EVER in a video sim game that you had to do that. Man now with GT5's damage system, bent suspension arms, tires hitting the tire wall, oh man!!! I just hope we get a great "Garage Repair Shop" to fix only the parts you want.

Also what makes GT game a GT game is the smooth Jazz music playing in the background, its very relaxing after a long race.

I might be the only one to do what I do.

I pick a car and track I like, leave the car at stock.

And just do lap after lap, hitting those curves, trying to do my fastest lap at every attempt. Or do 5 or so laps within a second of one another.

Sometimes when doing it, hours pass by with out me knowing.

I have a PS3 and GT4, but it looks horrible on my TV, turns me off playing it other wise I would.

The cars, tracks, unique racing, and just better than other racing games.

For me its the hype and frenzy and general all round mentalness around each new verson of the game!!

Nah, seriously, GT is GT.

It has something for everybody. It has the ability to draw you in and hold for hour,days,months...years!!

I think it's the range of players it caters to.

You can take it very seriously as a driving sim, and it's very rewarding of skilled play at that level.

At the same time, it's very rewarding of simple time spent playing. If you can't win a race, then often you can simply save money, buy/or upgrade to a better car and destroy the competition. I think this is heartening to those who aren't aliens.

This is how GT caters to all levels of players, and is a big part of what differentiates it from many other racing games.
